- A tour of the now-closed Sears store in West Dundee, IL. This was the closest sears store to corporate headquarters and was one of their top stores in the midwest. However, as Sears fades away the store closing waves finally caught up to this store.

This was the nearest Sears for me. I went to this Sears and mall since I was a kid. My dad would always take me and my sister every or every other Sunday to the mall and we always entered thru Sears. I always recalled the smell of new tires since the entrance was near the automotive department and mechanic. My dad always used to buy tools at Sears and bought many Sears appliances. Our family always used to go to the photo studio located on the second floor of this Sears until they closed it. I was able to see this mall in its better days and unfortunately in some of its worst days. In the last few years I was only able to go to Sears and this mall only a few times (Never really bought anything). Luckily I was able to go to Sears, Carson’s and Macy’s before they shutdown in February 2020
This was actually one of the 425 Sears Stores that was actually turning a profit and it was the closest to the corporate office in Hoffman Estates at the time.
I used to work at that Sears store, I started in the paint department then was in the home improvement replenishment department.
Kinda nice that did tour. I work as loss prevention manger almost 14 years there and then moved away from area. Since then work different line work but always wanted see how the store changed wish went to pick up area. Loss prevention office just right off that. We had huge surveillance camera system. I wish could seen back rooms but I get you don’t work there.
Wait... I'm finally recognizing the entrance. I thought it was in a dream but I went here a long time ago but I had this memory of being with my mom and dad getting a build a bear plush (it's right next to me rn) and we were walking out of the store. When I saw the entrance I didn't recognize it at first but now I'm remembering. It was a real long time ago.
I worked at and closed a sears store a few years ago. When they say everything must go, they seriously mean everything. The craziest stuff is put out on the floor near the end.

Unfortunately there isn’t much going on at Spring Hill Mall lately.they still have some stores that not even woodfield has.4 seasons menswear I will recommend.the owners are very accommodating and amazing.they bring color and creativity to life.they can accessorize anything.no pattern is off limits.been a customer for over 10 years.I will also recommend the chubby bullfrog by the former Sears.amazing food.I will highly recommend the burger,wings,pizza,and the homemade meatloaf.good prices.great atmosphere.after that selection of stores is scattered at best.spring hill has seen much better days.with the Carson’s,Sears,and Macy’s now closed.not a good thing.one can only hope for investment in the near future.maybe new sub anchors.a Burlington perhaps,more entertainment options when more things become open that is.I sincerely hope the villages of Carpentersville and West Dundee have a plan in store.the mall is well kept and is a beautiful place.
Woodfield Mall in IL might be one of the last Sears stores left.

You’re quite right. Sears has been in liquidation for so many years. There’s no way to operate either they or Kmart with so few stores. Liquidate and get it over with. Nobody cares anymore, except those poor employees. I feel so sorry for them.
This is still a beautiful mall.that Sears I believe was still profitable.such a shame.but Stratford Square is in worse shape.i don’t know what Brookfields plan is regarding Spring Hill mall,but Namdar is quickly turning Stratford into a ghost town.

...Car rental signs? You could rent cars at this Sears or was this another example of “Slap a price tag on it and see if it sells?”
There was an Avis/ Budget Car Rental Counter here for years.
My Childhood is getting ruined.my favorite place to chillax is the mall because of the stores and the happy people.Now I can't go cause it's sad. I guess I have to go to a supermarket.

Yes! I live close by there. I got a pair of shoes before they were gone. Agree that Sears is finished. Once Des Plaines closes I will cease to pay attention to what happens next.

I remember being a little kid and going to this mall all the way up to my mid 30s..it was always full of people. This was a cool mall until they ruined it by putting in that stupid movie theater
Eddie should just let the company die already. Kmart is about to leave Illinois as well
