This is one of my favorite romantic comedy endings. So many of them are just sappy and predictable. The fact that she doesn't get the guy, lets go of him, and is cheered up by her other best friend, ending on a happy note, was brilliant. The writing was great for this scene-- witty, charming, heartwarming-- and actors pulled it off perfectly.
I love this scene. Michael loves her for years and she doesn't want him, then he finds someone better and she plots to ruin it to win his love back. She really didn't love him or want what was best for him, and he knows that, so he chooses the better woman. At the end, Jules shows character development by accepting her behaviour was selfish and she makes up for it by being a good bridesmaid. It's a perfect ending.
I think Jules really loved Michael but she realized it way too late so she lost her chance. It's true that they both had changed after all those years so they weren't right for each other anymore.

Julie and Rupert seemed to be good friends❤️❤️ Rupert has got such a beautiful sincere smile and Julie's laugh is so jolly😂❤️😂❤️ love it when the two youngies start dancing. So cute❤️❤️

Did y'all know this scene was a RESHOOT? After the original ending fell flat, the producers re-wrote it to focus on George. The cast and crew were called back. On a side note, do y'all notice how many of the BG are checking out the leads? I thought this was taboo!
