  • Like many XFRs, this car is fitted with Spires stage 2 back boxes. The rest of the exhaust is standard.

Sound's amazing 👌, easily one of the best sounding exhaust note's out there.

Just had mine done at Spires. The videos on RUclips don't do the Spires stage 2 back boxes justice. They sound much better in person. I was thinking i'd be disappointed and look to have the resonator delete too but it really isn't needed. As of 2 weeks ago Spires only have 2 sets left of the Stage 2 back boxes and no plans to produce any more.

Yeah, they’re absolutely superb! Certainly the best available despite the bitching from people that can’t afford them! 🤣 I thought they had already discontinued this so you did well. To be honest, I think they’re nuts for not having any more made. They’re so popular!

Yes, bizarrely they call their rear silencers Stage 2 and their centre section Stage 1. But you can have Stage 2 without Stage 1. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Which is what I have.

@@sipowell85 can't wait to experience my 1st v8, I've paid over the odds for it but it's come from a jag dealership with a year warranty, fresh major service including spark plugs and all 4 wheels refurbished and a private plate aswell.
Has yours been reliable? Are you on jaginfo forum?

Sounds great. I am getting one very soon hopefully and will be doing the exhaust upgrade asap.
Can anyone tell me what average MPG you get with an XFR? Yes, I know it's a Supercharged V8, yes I can afford to run one. It would just be nice to know how it will compare with my old BMW 540 that did 20.38 (measured using an app with each fill up).

You will love it! They’re absolutely superb cars! 👌
As you quite rightly say, you absolutely do not buy a car like this for fuel economy! And I don’t even pay any attention to it. Maybe the odd glance at the computer for a giggle, but certainly not gone to the extent of using an app to measure it! Haha. I used to use the Roadtrip app which always always interesting with my old Volvo S60 D5 that just didn’t seem to use any fuel at all! Haha.
Mine is a toy and not a daily driver. When I drive it, I drive it PROPERLY! 😈 Out for a 70-100 mile Sunday morning hoon, 12-14 mpg is about right I’d guess. I did use it for work a few weeks back and on a mixed drive over about 60 miles whilst making progress but generally sitting on cruise control, it did show an average of 29.6 mpg. Can’t be sniffed at!

@@sipowell85 I intend to use it for a 25 mile motorway commute each day and family duties when my new born arrives. I do have access to a diesel sh**ter that does 40+mpg if it gets to much.
Last time we were expecting a child (7 years ago) I decided that an Impreza WRX was the perfect family/commuter car. You cant fault my logic!
If the XFR can get anywhere near high-20s MPG on a motorway cruise, like you did, that will be a nice bonus. Cheers.

@@superbracey Excellent family car. I have two kids (2 & 5) and there’s ample space in the back for their child seats and the boot is cavernous! Only gripe, being a saloon, is the actual boot opening isn’t that big. But the space inside is huge! In fact, there’s FAR more luggage space and passenger room in the Jag than in my Volvo XC60! Go figure! 🤷🏻‍♂️
Plus, the rapturous giggles that come from the kids when your bury them into the back of their seats by pinning the throttle off the lights is absolutely priceless! 😎
First thing to do when you buy one….fit a full set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres. Transforms the car and inspires a lot more confidence!

The x-pipe that spires sell, how would that change the sound? More deeper/raspy etc?
