Lived all my life in LA and this is CRAZY. El sereno and alhambra have been blanketed with smoke the past few days. Its isnt even over too, maybe time to dip out of the state or find a better place to live. Sad to think about now that disasters here.
Craziness as I am 25+ miles SE of Pasadena and the smoke is giving me a headache. I pray for everyone in the Valley, SGV, LA county. Imagine if this happened the week prior with the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl game.
Obviously people are more concerned about their own wellbeing/family right now but the ripple effect this will have on the LA housing/rental market is going to be extreme. A lot of people are going to be pushed out of LA when rent inevitably raises and property values are going to skyrocket and it’s not going to be the average Joe that benefits
What will happen is wealthy people and corporations like blackrock will buy up the cheap devalued lots and further displace all the locals who were living there.
😮I have a former co-worker who has family in those areas and lost their home, and were looking for a motel to stay in, and they were charging $250/night when their usual price is like $60
I remember all these feelings. I was in kelowna last year when the fires happened i lived litterally a 5 minute drive away. The craziest part was watching it come over the mountains in west kelowna from my backyard and like 30 minutes later, seeing it jump the lake to the east side where i live (kelowna is a reletivly small city in the center of a valley. With a long and wide lake that separates west and east kelowna.) We had to buy air puifiers for our home and car to survive. We felt town even though we werent evauated, but the smoke was so bad and we had a 1 month old baby. The sad part is after 24 hours you can't tell how much smoke is in the air by smell until you leave and notice how toxic your environment was.
I’m all for insurance company slander but I get it from a business standpoint. The warning signs were there for a while, not for just 1,2, or 29 houses but thousands all at the same time and the state did nothing to prepare, so this event was inevitable. This would literally put them out of business and everyone in the nation would be uninsured. The damage from this is worth more than statefarm’s entire networth
@@tommydong8070 How do you figure it is the property owners fault? That ranks right up there with you calling the person who claimed it was "elitists Kamala voters" ignorant.

It’s so sad. Those stories you hear about the way people are dying is really sad. The man that was burned to death with the water hose in his hands, he was trying to save his house. It’s just so sad
And the father who died by his son's bedside because the father was an amputee and his son had Cerebral Palsy. The other son was in the hospital so he was unable to help them evacuate. An ambulance was supposed to come help them evacuate, yet it didn't reach them in time and the father refused to leave his son behind.
It's sad but the reality is when you are in an evacuation zone you should do as you're told. A garden hose would do nothing against that level of fire and it is also being selfish because you are risking the lives of other people/first responders by staying back against something that cannot be contained.

I doubt the insurance situation is completely the fault of government. What good is insurance if nobody can afford it? The reality is that California and many other places (like deserts and coastal areas) are becoming too risky to insure (in large part due to climate change, but there are other factors as well). So much $ in CA.,. Its a shame your government is incompetent
EDGAR!!!!
I am surprised at how current you guys are. I was worried about you guys but your IG feeds were empty except Subin and Nick's class cancellation announcements .
They knew people were concerned, that is why they did the video now, yet they had to make sure it was safe enough to make the trip to the studio to film. As Steve mentioned, the plane he was on had to go a different route to avoid the smoke.
If there's anything I can do please let me know. I donated but I mean specifically for the careful boyz.
Since most of them live in vegas
