bahahah damn i am hella shiny. i would say...nahhhh i'm just going for that glowy, dewy look! but nahhh....i'm just hella shiny. LOLZ. love you guys ~ always fun hanging with ya'll!! xx
Romane H. Haha too many to name but my main squeezes are Youth to the People’s face wash and Glossier’s priming moisturizer... with a BB cream by a company named Atomy :)
I've been living in LA for 4 years and agree with alot of what you guys said. It just sucks that there's so much traffic just to get to all these different neighborhoods :(
I'm from Canada and agree with you. I always get Mexican food when I'm visiting the States, esp. the West Coast. Good Mexican food places are few and far between here.
I would disagree. But to be fair, Canada is a big country. There's probably great Mexican food here and there, but I wouldn't say it's common enough to say that it's pretty authentic in Canada.
HEY WONG FU just wanted to let you guys know yall are awesome i love love love you guys and your channel and your videos make my days so much better!! come visit chicago pls!!:)
Moved out here with $200 and lived in my car in Santa Monica with my dog for three months (in OC for now. get me out). Uncomfortable as hell, but SM + the rest of LA won me over so fast; first time the city itself was what made me fall in love with a new home before the people.
.__. the irony here is talking about how dirty the city is when every lunch break is with (what i'm assuming/most likely) noncompostable/nonbiodegradable food containers and utensils TT___TT
It's so interesting how the different guests bring a different vibe to Lunchbreak episodes. Like in this one, she's so chill and so the whole vibe kind of goes that way, it's relaxing to listen to. But then last time with Remi, her energy is more high and light so the whole episode kind of felt that way. Meh, prob stating the obvious but that's fine. (Also, this whole discussion confirmed to me that I would not like L.A. haha!)
speaking of pollution, the los angeles metro area has come light years since the 50s, 60s, and 70s, when we had brown days, yellow days and purple days, and people in the san gabriel and san fernando valleys rarely had a view of the mountains and our eyes and throats were chronically distressed. it'll be a fight to maintain our gains.
I love living in LA because of all the opportunities and experiences I get to have. While the Bay Area had many memories for me, I think I like LA a little more because I've been able to grow as a person and dabble in other career fields 😊😊
Ahhh, @Wes, you grew up in the Bay Area in the 90s, can you talk about the changes in neighborhoods and what it's like to go back due to the tech boom? :D
From a middle size city in Nevada and moved to the Detroit area. Fun fact in the 1950s LA ranked 4th and Detroit ranked 5th, today LA ranks 2nd and Detroit 23rd. In terms of Metro areas, today LA ranks 2nd and Detroit 14th (about the same as SF-Oakland). I moved to the Detroit area as an Engineer because the Detroit area has the most shear number of Engineers more than any other metro areas including LA. LA is similar to the Detroit area because of inefficient transit systems, minorities tend to clutter in specific areas, and that there are rough areas and nice areas, but LA doesn’t have the negative connotations that Detroit does. The Detroit area is just like any other metro areas; you have some rough parts of Detroit like you do in Compton and really wealthy areas like Bloomfield like you do in Beverly Hills. The reason why I point this out is because after living in the Detroit area for a while, I see a lot of potential for Detroit to grow, but it hard for a city to grow if the media keeps portraying the city in a negative light. Not saying that Detroit doesn’t have problems, but things are getting better. In the end just don’t believe everything in the media.
Los Angeles air used to be a lot worse back in the 80's and 90's. We had "smog alerts" which told everyone to NOT do any outdoor activities because the air is too toxic. Back then, breathing L.A. air was like smoking two packs a day. Today, the air quality has improved to where it is more like one pack a day. Just saying, L.A. has improved in lifestyle, overall look, and air quality over the past 30 years. Problem with that is that it has gotten exponentially more expensive to live here because of those improvements
Omg i asked my parents for a blackberry when i was getting my first phone lolol. Then my brother knocked it into the toilet (long story)and it was gone forever. Everytime i drive up to LA i feel so sad about some of the areas there but most of it is so diverse and interesting. Like Korea town and Little Tokyo, or just the normal Hollywood street area.
Chris please take Wes for a walk, he seemed really excited XD
walk w me chris.
bahahah damn i am hella shiny. i would say...nahhhh i'm just going for that glowy, dewy look! but nahhh....i'm just hella shiny. LOLZ. love you guys ~ always fun hanging with ya'll!! xx
I actually think you look dewy and so pretty... !! Even wondered what you used haha xx

Yayyyyyy! I’ve honestly watched all the lunch breaks this whole week! I can’t believe I’ve never seen these earlier 😭
Hello from the Bay Area!!
Canadian Mexican food is pretty authentic
I would disagree. But to be fair, Canada is a big country. There's probably great Mexican food here and there, but I wouldn't say it's common enough to say that it's pretty authentic in Canada.

After having visited LA, it made me appreciate my city more.
HEY WONG FU just wanted to let you guys know yall are awesome i love love love you guys and your channel and your videos make my days so much better!! come visit chicago pls!!:)
Coming from San Diego, LA was always a place for more iconic tourist places like museums and hipster restaurants with great diversity.
Moved out here with $200 and lived in my car in Santa Monica with my dog for three months (in OC for now. get me out).
Uncomfortable as hell, but SM + the rest of LA won me over so fast; first time the city itself was what made me fall in love with a new home before the people.

Ah I think that's the Stanford cup we (AASA) got Wong Fu for the Everything Before Us screening! Haha glad to see it's being put to good use 😂
I love watching lunch breaks and eating at the same time. UGH.

I live on the east coast in North Carolina and have always wanted to visit California. My mom actually had a uncle who lives in Canada.

Move to Orange County or Irvine. LA is horrible; especially downtown.
