They really killed it with this song. All four band members shined. It's fast but it has such an amazing melodic feel to it. Combining those aspects is not easy. As a big fan of Metallica this series was really entertaining to watch. Keep up the good work
The actual video for this song flows with the music. All the key changes, the bridges, chorus, everything goes with the beat and melody and puts you in it
Fun fact about this album. After doing the kill em all concert at one of the Orion festivals, James thought to himself these songs are so simple and easy to play. So, this was his goal on from the beginning of the album. As opposed by Death Magnetic where they threw in a shit ton of riffs. Now Spit out the Bone doesn’t really follow that goal, but the rest of the album does.
My megadeth suggestions: wake up dead, holy wars, in my darkest hour, set the world afire, hanger 18, tornado of souls, angry again, take no prisoners, skin of my teeth, the conjuring, Devils Island, back in the day, head crusher, the right to go insane, killing is my business...and business is good, sleepwalker,..........and every other Song!
5:46 what'd you call me :o I was curious how this would go with so many people blowing this song up for you before hand; I'm glad it didn't make you expect so much that you couldn't dig what it actually is. I'd give a little nip and a tuck here for flow. I'm still not sold on how they go to the re-intro before the second solo for instance. It's a strong track though for sure. I actually like James' vocals throughout the whole album quite a lot - that's one aspect where I think Death Magnetic has been undoubtedly outdone here - but this is definitely one of the standouts with some of the coolest line deliveries he's had in a long time. Kirk's final solo here is one of the only ones he actually prepared beforehand for the album and it shows; I hope there's more of that on their next go-round. The lead guitar harmony after the first solo is also notable for me as a favorite from their entire catalog. The somewhat melodic and dynamic take on thrash used here and Moth Into Flame is something I really hope to hear from them again. It's classic Metallica but with just enough of a modern twist to keep it fresh. Yahtzee.
Glad to see you loved it! You ever check out Bullet for my Valentine? Dont know if that would be your thing, FFDP is alright, I love Volbeat. Just a few suggestions
Fantastic reaction! I'd like to assume everyone was just like you when they first heard Spit Out The Bone. Flawless song! Great album! Have you thought about reacting to Metallica's covers or vs originals?
tip for a future reaction: hard rock band Eclipse (from Sweden). They are becoming very popular but still are relatively unknown in the "reactions" market. Some great rock songs like Viva la victoria, The Masquerade, The downfall of Eden or Runaways:)
Id love a megadeth and old metallica revisit series 🙌🙌 thanks for all the reactions brother keep her going! Also a recommendation for both.. 1. Metallica - either whiplash or four horsemen 2. Megadeth - either in my darkest hour or tornado of souls Once again thanks brother 🙏
As in Trivium? I’m not a fan of that song. But a series reacting to their newer stuff (I haven’t really heard anything past In Waves) might be an idea, for sure.
@@Starcoma Yeah, that song kind of has that vocal repetition you mentioned... And I really love the song, though the quick intro shocked me a bit the first time.
Dude, I would love to see you do Megadeth! But Please do the originals! Not the 2004 remaster! In 2004 Dave remixed and remastered all the prior albums. And while there are a couple of songs that may have been improved, overall the 2004 remasters sound overly compressed and just not as good. If you start Megadeth you have to begin with the album "Rust In Peace" it is the pinnacle of Megadeth's Thrash much in the way that "Master Of Puppets" is Metallica's. But I recommend anything from the Original "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying", "Countdown To Extinction", or "Youthanasia" After you've tested the waters a bit you could also check out 2016's "Dystopia" It came out around the same time as "Hardwired" and while it may not be their best, its a damn fine album.
@@Starcoma You could also do a comparison between "The Four Horsemen" and "Mechanix" Dave Mustaine released his version of the song on Megadeth's first album since he wrote it. Metallica used his riffs and changed the lyrics for "Kill Em' All" after he "left" the band. Mustaine's version can also be heard on Metallica's "No Life Til Leather" demo. James hadn't yet found his singing style yet so it's interesting to hear.
@@Starcoma You have to be very careful to check out the original Rust in Peace versus the remaster. I'm not sure if it happened on the others, but certain parts of the original recordings were missing and thus had to be replaced with new takes. Some of the new vocals in particular just aren't up to snuff compared to the old versions. The song "Five Magics" in particular is really knocked down a notch, so watch out for all that!
There are actually a fair amount of Metallica songs that I could never get into when I was younger (15/16), and haven’t thought to try them again since. But now seems a good time to hopefully change that mindset.
@@jochencooper2751 Well, all of MOP is golden. But, basically everything prior to St. Anger will be looked at. I would say the majority of stuff, I like, but there are a fair amount of songs that are requested during my streams that I am not currently into, so I figure I should change that lol.
9:15 this was everyones reaction! Great riff

spit out the bone is not just a song, its an experience....

You should also react to Lords Of Summer. It's also a song from Hardwired but it's from the Deluxe edition. It's an amazing song as well !!
Yes agreed!! Lords of Summer!
Oh yes one of my favorites from the album!
Thanks for the recomendation, awesome song!! 💪🏻🤘🏻

I got to see them on the WorldWired tour and I was so happy when they played this
Jealous!
Finally! Thanks for journey!
Lords of summer
Saw this song two times live last year. Really great 🤘🏼🤘🏼

You should react to the "Making Of" series of your favorite songs from the album!
I’ve been watching each one with each video, so unfortunately it wouldn’t be much of a genuine reaction lol.
Yeaaah man,you so enjoy it,nice reaction
Great reaction dude
You're welcome @Starcoma ;-)
man that was awesome!
it was very nice to watch you listen from the start. had a great time
Thank you! Hopefully you stick around for future content!!
I'd also like to see your thoughts on Beyond Magnetic...I've hears you talk about Death Magnetic and I agree its underrated.
Never heard any of Beyond Magnetic, didn’t even know it was a thing prior to this series lol.
Clearly I am a bad Metallica fan 😅
Ok, now we know what's coming...after Lords Of Summer, of course:
Beyond Magnetic - often overlooked/forgotten 4 bangers
@@Starcoma definitely need to check it out.
@@Starcoma Cool. Do reactions for Beyond Magnetic. It's only 4 songs
Yes! Rebel of Babylon is amongst my absolute favourites
YEAAAH!!! it's a great song!!
Wowww
Now you have to watch the video. Its a great video.
Oh, don’t you worry, I’ve already done that lol.
Haha knew you’d dig this. Would love to see you react to some older Metallica as you mentioned

Greeting Sir! My today's suggestion is an Industrial/Metal song entitled "We Died In 2012", from the French Canadian project named So-Fi.
