getting the back off is not that easy. Mine shattered so just bought a replacement. Replaced everything in about an hour. all works fine now though

does the serial number for the replacement cable matter? i bought one supposedly for the OnePlus6T, but it doesn't fit the housing

Probably you got the wrong part. as far as i know there is only oneplart for 6t
@@DIYGeardo It was for the OnePlus6T but it didn't fit. mine was a specific firmware version for Europe and most of the cables in circulation on Ebay and such are for the US models and the earliest iteration of the OnePlus6T. the cable i got from a seller who showed me the serial number was the same as mine worked fine
Wish they could had just put the cable on top of the battery so I don't have to deal with all this disassemble 😢
