I miss one important moment from the first book which hasn't been illustrated. That moment is when Harry gets his wand. I think that moment should have been illustrated! It could have been such an amazingly beautiful illustration. Just picture Harry with a surprised happy look on his face while the wand stands still in his hand and sparkles shiny stars everywhere in Ollivander's shop.
This would make the perfect reading gift for children! Also, I adore the illustrations, but sadly, the book is really expensive so I don't know if I'm getting it. Thanks for the video :D
i wish jk brought back the original hardcover harry potter books. i didnt act on them when they first came out. i have all 7 books in paperback. just ordered both illustrations of 1st and 2nd hp books. cant wait for the rest

I have yet to read the books(Yes I know, I know :(..) and what info I have found there are few pages in this one compared to it's counterpart. I would think if they added picture that this one should have more. Great video!!
At least they packed good. Mine was packed in a bag like cover and the corners were damaged, I have to return it twice because both the time the book was damaged.

Even with some illustrations cutting off text in a page or making the text wrap around the pictures, the double column arrangements still make the illustrated book have fewer pages than the original book. But everything is here.

Ugh I kinda regret this! So Ive never read or watched ANY Harry Potter stuff. The movies just seemed boring as a kid. And they still kinda do. Why do they write Sorcerer every single time? The original one is the Philosopher's Stone. I understand that the Americans did not understand what Philosopher means, but after 20 years? Do they still not get it? Writing the wrong spelling, that too on such a pretty edition!
Americans know what a "philosopher" means, but it might have a slightly different context from British english. Besides, Nicholas Flamel wasn't really a philosopher anyway.
Scholastic changed the same to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone instead of keeping the Philosopher's Stone because they think that kids won't want to read a book that says "philosopher" in it

I'm pretty sure that it's the exact same but please read the originals first these illustrations suck and it just gives you a bad image of the story
