Interesting...when I listen, I actually hear it as the quiet calm of understanding or recovery after a tragedy has passed by...isn't it awesome how open good music is to interpretation? :)
I continue to be impressed with the sound quality in this series ... what kind of microphone is that? One mic set back can pick up all those strings with no background noise .. its wonderful
i believe "field recording" refers to recordings done in a space that is either typical for those people and sounds to be made. ie: by a forest, a river, songs sung in a prison, in a catholic church. or it can be musicians in an atypical recording space and not for an intended and predetermined audience. i think that's why these deem themselves as still being a "field recording."
Bravo, only one simple wee mistake, put a S instead of a C there : "Bravo ! Encore, s'il vous plait !", or "S'il vous plaît", both are good. (and in French the exclamation point is not glued to the last letter of the word)
they use their show as a marketing tool all the time. i listen to npr a lot while i work. i hear too many afternoon shows about google and apple to still think its a coincidence. no idea what alex covic is talking about though.
"Hi, I'm the pig, I'm the little pig."

i don't think public radio uses marketing tools
Why they don't have RUclips channel??
They don't need one lol. people pay hundreds of $$ to go to their concerts.
