What is a system repair disc?
A system repair disc is a bootable disc that you can create on a working computer with Windows, and use it to troubleshoot and repair system problems on other Windows computers that are malfunctioning.
What is a System Image?
A system image is a file - or set of files - that contains everything on a PC’s hard drive, or just from one single partition. A system imaging program looks at the hard drive, copying everything bit by bit. You then have a complete system image you can copy back onto a drive to restore the system state.

Hard disk ka data to same rahega na ? Nahi to mera hard disk ka data bhi delete ho jaye... Bas windows ka restore ho kbhi kbhi windows defender kharab ho jata tab yeh trick kaam me aati hai.
The only disadvantage is that you have to create recovery drive / system image every 2 - 3 months because if your recovery drive / systems image is older you have to again update your system to latest version and mind you it will take alot of time ( updating to latest version of windows)

USB device should be 3.0 for fast process.

I have created system image saved in hard disk ....after few days I ran into windows serious issue that windows corrupt. So I install windows from another source during that I tried to attach my external hard disk and choose system recovery image but can't able to proceed with that.....
So I have to install windows from another source.....and I want to restore my windows with earlier state....that was I saved in backup....
