Is that how you normally cook burgers? I always use air crisp, but am am open to trying bake.
I haven't tried the Omaha burgers... good to know to give it a pass.

I have used all methods to cook burgers. Bake roast works best for me and the Bubba Burgers I am usually cooking.

@@ScottCooks not sure mine tasted like lil tender pieces of steak flavor was spot on too not sure could just be preference or differences in taste.

I feel the same way about the Omaha Steaks burgers! I love some of their other products, the Italian-breaded Tenders are amazing, I like the Beef Meatballs, their Potatoes Au Gratin, and their Gourmet Franks in a Blanket are all great. But I was really disappointed by their burger patties. I’m considering trying their Filet Mignon Sliders, to see how those taste without spending the extra for the bigger patties.

Something is going on with the burgers. If I where them I would just grind up the trimmings from their fantastic steaks and make burgers from that. Never tried the slider but man is OS filet mignon good!

Hey Scott. Mate I've found that beef burgers of any description don't cook so well in the ninja. They pass on the plate but only just. Best pan fried or BBQ's. One method I use for burgers is to pan sear them really hot on both sides then transfer to the ninja foodie. Don't know if you can get them in your state but have you tried Venison burgers or good ol Aussie 🇦🇺 Kangaroo? Leanest meat around.
That cast iron pan must have a few juicy stories to tell at 100 years old. Doesn't look a day older than its first seasoning. Thanks for posting your review. Cheers mate.

This is Virginia. Lots of deer hunters here. I get venison often. I usually mix it with some onion soup mix and make burgers with it.

Of course I should have known that. Dah. They are an introduced pest here and are encroaching on suburbia and a problem in national parks and reserves. Like in New Zealand we do farm them for meat consumption and hide. The stick is it's not cheap and minimal stockists. Thanks for the mix tip. Will give that a go.

No clue what the fat content is for Omaha burgers, but for me anything less than 20% fat is a non starter for burgers. That might be an issue. I know that some folks are concerned about temp, but I think 165 plus pre rest will dry out a burger and impact flavor, too. A short cook at high temp works best for me for thin burgers. Salt and pepper might help, too.

I've tried so many ways to try to make these better. I can't lol. It's just not great meat. Back to Bubba Burgers for me 😀

Unfortunately I ordered these as well (16) to be exact and I was not impressed at all. Mine were thicker though, 6 oz burgers

Omaha Steaks are really good. Everything else they sell is not IMO. Don't fall for all the sales. Just buy a box of steak 😀

Well Scott, we love Omaha meat products, especially their steaks, but I truly agree with you in their hamburger patties; they’re just not good at all! And I’ve cooked them just about anyway u can, like u, and I can’t win! I’ve tried them twice; once from a Xmas present we received one year from my brother in 2016, and this year, from a close friend who also gave them to us at Xmas!

I think the problem with these burgers is that the meat is too compact which makes a tougher burger. If you make your own patties from packaged ground beef the meat is more airy less compact. I won’t be buying Omaha Steaks Ground Beef Burgers again.

Thats amazing that you have a pan that old. Ive been buying the typical newer ones coated with something but nothing lasts, so I've been wanting to get a cast iron pan and learn how to use/maintain it. I want something that lasts!
I love the burgers though, but I've never really tried any other high quality meat. Its either what the local food store has, a restaurant burger, or omaha, so for me, they are top tier. I'm sure theres better ones out there but I haven't found them yet.
Great video, thanks for your honest opinion.

Thanks for saving me from the time and expense of getting bad meat. That's a shame as their steaks are wonderful.

i bought these as part of a package. my parents gave me a $100 gift certificate and i wanted to get more for the money. i am throwing these on tonight for the first time. i can attest, before i even make them , they look absolutely horrible in the packaging.
Saying that, the company is called "Omaha Steak Company"...if it was "Omaha Burger Company" they would not be in business.
