Came here from the QX120 video and I have to tell you that your videos are excellent and your information delivery is on point. With your explanation about how the RGB version is different from this version I had hoped to see how the RGB counterpart performed in comparison to the base RX120, but such is life.
I bought the rx120 fans today and i gonna send them back they have some kind of little rattling to them but they attacked the ramping. now it ramps up in 100rpm intervals (more annoying) like bss-BSSS-bss-BSSS x2-bsss-BSSS x3. i even had a odd situation, one time i give them 0rpm and still heared some kind of buzzing noise really weird.
Hey! Love your reviews and they are the first I look at to get real, informative and trusted information about fans, PLEASE REVIEW THE NEW CORSAIR LX120 FANS I am really looking to know their worth, because I am waiting to make a purchase of fans for my new incoming build and there is no information or reviews about the LX120 fans from corsair 😪
They are better than the QX120 overall and only slightly better Static pressure than RX120 0.13-5.22 vs 0.12-4.38, and a little bit less airflow than the RX120 9.75-69.9 vs 10.5-74.2. Same noise level as the RX120 10-36db so less than the QX120 10-37db. It would be nice as a case fan and radiator fan the RX120 might be a little upgrade but not by much so I’d say just go with what you think looks better. (Just don’t buy the QX I guess cus it’s the worst of them all)
The RPM ramping reminds me of my Gigabyte GTX 1650 Windforce where the fans peaked at over 12V to start spinning and then settled down. It always sounded like a server or jet engine start.
I bought the QX120s for the PC I built my nephew and I was like "damn these are really nice" so I went to buy some for myself but the shop only had these so i got them instead and i like them much better. The RGB on em isnt as good but its still nice. Keep my case a good 3 to 4 degrees cooler than the stock MSI ones it came with
Love your videos and your coverage of both pros and cons. I'm curious if you are going to review the new Corsair LX fans that seem to be between the QX and RX as far as performance. Could it be Corsair's sweet spot between looks and performance?
I still prefer the P28 as it also has daisychain connects, but can be used with normal 4pin pwm, and has optional rgb. I used to exclusively use Phanteks Halos dRGB fan frames to add rgb to top performing fans like the A12-25, T30s and Silent Loop Pro 4s. This was unbeatable in terms of radiator performance w/rgb. Sadly, they are eol.
11:30 that ramping up/down is due the control system fixing the overshoot, the overshoot is like you said is due too the very fast change in the RPM. the ramping up/down can be solved by capping the rate of change of fan speed per second, I'm using fan control software which is called Argus monitor, other it being miles better than all the crap software out there, you can set the rate limit of the fan so it wont climb too fast (or decrease too fast).
@@Violet-ui depends on the BIOS, But for me I have always found BIOS fan control to be insufficient - not enough granularity and settings\options. So maybe technically you are correct, but I will recommend using a good software as BIOS fan control is usually subpar.
I wouldn't even be surprised😁 if there was no LCP in there. On the contrary, with Corsair I even assume that only to sell them even more expensively. In any case, I don't buy anything from them except memory modules and maybe a power supply and even then I prefer to use Seasonic.
Anything that doesn't connect to the mobo headers and needs a hub is a straight no go for me. I'll stick with Inwin Crown Fans until someone else makes a competent fan.
silverstone released a silverstone 140 shark force argb high pressure and high cfm fan at better noise to perf than the p14 max try to go push pull with it on the mist 420 i tried it and it obliterates other aios
Such a shame. I always loved Corsair and loved their brand aesthetics too. I have a ton of Corsair products but so much of it is crap The nightsword mouse double clicks after a very short time WIth the gaming chair the metal literally sheared and tore within a year. Their warranty crew was great and they always replaced stuff, but I'd rather just pay money and get quality product.

Same here 😞
That fan overspeed sounds just like what you'd get on a Piper Arrow or something with a constant speed prop as the powerplant adjusts for full power

Bro mine used to sound like a power tool, the fan used to grind like hell
would like the RX120 MAX review as well

Conclusion: Corsair still cannot make quality fans... only fanboys.
?

Lian Li Uni fan v2 looks much cooler, performs very nicely at quite lower cost.
P28🔛🔝
@@tadzio High quality, but no thrill no RGB.

you don't need software for that
it's in the bios

this one is cool, but im still in love with grand tornado, cheaper and more powerfull
FDBs are quieter though at least psychoacoustically
Can we use this new system icue with the older one? Like old xd5 pump and the water cool cpu? How would they connect?

Considering that it overshoots the target RPM, can we mod the firmware and make the fans go faster then? Lol
Great time to test whether the Corsair ML maglev fans are up to snuff or not! Just sayin'
Can you get a look at Endorfy Stratus 140 argb, it could be a great deal at 10€
I'll try to include them in the next fan-batch
2ºC difference is not "FAR AWAY" from anything.
What if I want to connect them to a fan header on the motherboard?
No Noiseblockers Eloops result?

Im a fan of this content.
That's an awful lot of wiring and hardware for a fan setup that has already been simplified and sells for 1/3 the price by Asiahorse.
It looks so over engineered for what it is. I wonder who the target market is for this is
