You Sir are an excellent instructor and I suspect your channel will take off! The pace at which you present information is very much appreciated by this new user. You give people enough to time to comprehend what your are saying it, while doing it. I will be back for more content for sure as this video alone has been very helpful. Seeing examples of the power of this program opens up ideas for creativity. Thank you.
Thanks a lot for your kind words. I believe in a slower pace of teaching as I believe understanding something and taking the ideas and making something else out of it is the essence of learning. If I went faster, the audience would know how to do that one thing, but might struggle to expand on the concepts on their own. What you've said is music to my ears. Thanks for stopping by and watching! I sincerely appreciate your feedback! :)
just make more video for dr18
I have never listened to such a clear breakdown and a step by step explanation before. No loud music in background, no fancy transitions, just clear and straight to the point. Thank you so much. I learned a lot
Thank you very much. I'm glad it was useful! :)
I have seen many videos on Da vinci but the way you teach is a way ahead. Very much Appreciable. Thanks a Lot
I like that you dig into the properties of how the features work in more detail. Makes you actually create something usable at the end of following along.
A lot of videos just say this is broadly working but you can tweak it, without telling you how to tweak it.
Thanks for the encouragement, Marc! :)
I really appreciate this slower, more complete approach! I know RUclips usually pushes people to condense their instruction into a shorter video, but that's not always the best way to teach. Thank you for taking your time with this, I feel like I understand the principles much better!
Thanks Bryan. Yes, I absolutely agree that when teaching taking your time is important. But what you say about RUclips pushing out faster paced videos is very true and I am trying to find the best mix of providing value whilst still pleasing the RUclips algo! :)
I've used masks in so many different programs and have seen so many different tutorials for them used in different contexts. This was by far the best analogy I've ever seen lol
Haha.. Thank you Brandon! :)
You have explained things in a way NO ONE ELSE has to this point of my learning path. Subscribed and Liked!!! Look forward to binge watching your videos.
I have been doing this for quite some time... You sir are a very great instructor... even with the things i know you help me to understand, which i feel is ohh so important.. Please keep up the good work, Thank you
Thanks for your kind words! I appreciate the support and feedback! :)
no one could have explained it better and in so simple terms... faboulous video and learnt a lot sir... thank you for your efforts and keep up the great work you are doing.
Ah, you are too kind, mate! :) Thank you very much for watching and leaving your feedback. Very much appreciated! :)
You communication skills are superb. Many Instructors go way too fast so you lose the thread of the tutorial. Hope you continue with more videos
thanks so much for these tutorials. You're becoming my main guy for learning everything DR. Just picked up a speed editor and micro panel to step things up.
Your main guy for DR - wow, that's amazing praise!. Thanks a lot mate! :) Oh, two new toys to play with.. I'm jealous! Let me know how the speed editor and micropanels work for you. Keen to know! :) and thanks for watching! :)
I came across your channel today. You explain things so clearly. Other channels have covered the same material, but they race through it so fast I can’t take it in. You don’t seem to assume anything about my level of knowledge. This is great for a noob like me. I’ve subscribed. Thanks.
Thanks you for your encouragement, Ron! :) Appreciate you watching and leaving your feedback. :)
A hidden gem!!! i dont usually sub to editor's channels, but your content is TOO good to pass!! well done!!
Oh thank you so much. I need to get back to this channel and get some new content on! :)
Thanks for the detailed guide! I enjoy that you are speaking slowly and explaining how the tools work!
Notes for personal reference:
TYPES OF MASKS
- Fusion Masks
- Power Windows (Color)
- Qualifiers (Color) - tap on Highlight near the preview to isolate the qualifier area
- Magic Masks (Color) - Studio Only; as an alternative, creating a polygonal mask and tracking it should still work fine (?)
- Depth Maps (Edit/Color) - Studio Only
Excellent tutorial once again. Thank you for showing how the depth map works.
Thanks for watching, Kumaran! :)

You sir are amazing. I'm typing this comment after watching your video for literally 30 seconds. Within those 30 seconds i have gained more understanding of masks than i have from 20 other videos in the past 2 hours!!! Excellent video. In fact i cant think of a word to express how truly delighted i am to have watched this video. Instant sub from me. You were perfectly concise , while elaborating on the point so we can actually understand WHY you do something in resolve , rather than just showing us. Thank you sooooo much. Now i have to continue watching all of your videos!
Thank you so much. That’s high praise. ☺️☺️Appreciate the sub. Hope your da Vinci journey is exciting.
Fantastic. Thank you.

A+! So Well Explained!!! Thank you!!
Cheers mate ☺️
Hey, thanks for this video. People always say that the fusion and color tabs are easy when you get the hang of them but you broke this process down very well by comparing it to the real-world equivalent of masking when you paint. Very cool.
Thank you very much SuperKing. Glad you found it helpful 😀
Wow you take things that would be very hard and take a long time to learn and just lay it out so simple in perfect order.
Thank You! Subscribed!
Thank you. I’m glad it helped. 😄

So many tutorials on youtube but no one explained this much deep. Really Helpful. Thanks for covering all type of mask :)
Glad you liked it!! 😌
Very good explanation, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
The video was really useful, I really liked that you took time to explain in the simplest way. Thank you sir!
Glad it was helpful!
Lovely tutorials for beginners and easy to understand....thank you sir...❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Most welcome 😊
You are a really good teacher!
Thank you! 😃
I like the way you present the big picture first then work towards the details of the subject. This approach makes the lesson easier to follow and more likely to be absorbed in long term memory. Your presentation is good considering that you don't use a prompter or lesson plan. I would recommend either of these for a more polished presentation that doesn't drag in spots. A prompter would also allow you to look directly at the camera and have a more personable feel to the viewer. I think you are an excellent instructor and look forward to your future lesson creations in Resolve. Good work !
Thanks for watching and thanks for the constructive critique. I'll keep this in mind for my next rodeo! :)
Very well explained! Now everything is clear to me. Thank you for sharing it to us!
You are very welcome, Dorian! :) Thanks for watching, and please subscribe if you liked the video! :)

Hahaha. Hopefully you’ll get to the shore soon. ☺️
Best tutorial, really appreciate the attention to detail and how you always explain why and how :)
Thanks Sophia. Glad it was helpful! :)
Geez, i can not believe every time I watch one of your videos I learn 4 or 5 new things, tricks or shortcuts, amazing thanks you.
Glad you like them and thanks for watching 😺
This is an extremely good video. Definitely subscribing
Thank you 🙏
Thank you. I'm a relatively new user of DaVinci, trying to get familiar with it to support my daughter who is doing film production at University. This is an excellent tutorial, It doesn't assume anyone understands the terms or how any of the functions work and you take the time to explain everything as you go along at a pace that doesn't require ten views of everything you say. Thank you again.
You're very welcome!
super clear, concise, great pacing, and well spoken!
Much appreciated! Thanks for watching and letting me what you thought! :)
Very good video. I'm a beginner to Resolve and this aided tremendously. Thanks for sharing and good luck on your channel.
Glad it was helpful!
