  • Just got rid of my old faithful
    She had done 253000 miles from new and never let me down. Was running on original brake drums, coolant, brake fluid, exhaust. I regularly serviced her.

    wow! This little car did almost quarter of a million miles! This shows that if you take care of your car, it will keep going.

      Thanks Oscar. Yes, I bought this new in 2010. It had just 6 miles on the clock! I regularly serviced it myself always replacing plugs, filters and correct fully synthetic oil. It still had original coolant, brake fluid, exhaust and injectors. The only time someone else worked on it was for a clutch. Take care my friend.

      @@Noactualdirection I'm guessing you're luckier then me. My exhaust muffler mount snapped at 4 years/40,000 miles and the centre pipe mount snapped at 8 years/80,000 miles and then around the same time the muffler rusted a hole. The replacements was cheap although this time I have coated them in a high temperature silver anti-corrosion exhaust paint as the the exhaust system seems like a weak point on these cars, the rear brake pipes was replaced at 86,000 miles. I'm at 92,000 miles in my 2012 Aygo with no major issues. Still on the original clutch too, although that's not that uncommon at 92k miles.
      Just like you though everything has been done by me, the only thing I haven't done is the brake pipes as I don't really have the tools or experience to guarantee I could do it safely. Still think I'd do the clutch myself although if the quote from a garage was low enough I may save myself the hassle xD. My car was 2 years old with 10,000 miles when I bought it though... It's my first car and I've owned it for 8 years.

      I passed her on to a dealer who paid me £100 end of life value. I imagine they tarted her up for a tenner and sold on for a massive profit. She is still alive. AX10DGZ

Iam using it for long trips like 500 miles from Poland to Czechia minimal 1 time in month. Without any problem :)

    • @Noactualdirection
      @Noactualdirection  2 года назад +6

      I had just replaced the rear wheel bearings. This then made me notice how bad the front felt. I decided not to sink any more money into it in case the engine started playing up. There comes a time when there is only so much money I was willing to Spend. Was a reliable little basic car.
