- Just got rid of my old faithful
She had done 253000 miles from new and never let me down. Was running on original brake drums, coolant, brake fluid, exhaust. I regularly serviced her.
wow! This little car did almost quarter of a million miles! This shows that if you take care of your car, it will keep going.
Thanks Oscar. Yes, I bought this new in 2010. It had just 6 miles on the clock! I regularly serviced it myself always replacing plugs, filters and correct fully synthetic oil. It still had original coolant, brake fluid, exhaust and injectors. The only time someone else worked on it was for a clutch. Take care my friend.
@@Noactualdirection I'm guessing you're luckier then me. My exhaust muffler mount snapped at 4 years/40,000 miles and the centre pipe mount snapped at 8 years/80,000 miles and then around the same time the muffler rusted a hole. The replacements was cheap although this time I have coated them in a high temperature silver anti-corrosion exhaust paint as the the exhaust system seems like a weak point on these cars, the rear brake pipes was replaced at 86,000 miles. I'm at 92,000 miles in my 2012 Aygo with no major issues. Still on the original clutch too, although that's not that uncommon at 92k miles.
Just like you though everything has been done by me, the only thing I haven't done is the brake pipes as I don't really have the tools or experience to guarantee I could do it safely. Still think I'd do the clutch myself although if the quote from a garage was low enough I may save myself the hassle xD. My car was 2 years old with 10,000 miles when I bought it though... It's my first car and I've owned it for 8 years.
Oh these are fab little cars, absolutely loved my 107 version. I part exchanged it for a Suzuki and miss my 107 so much
Bloody brilliant.. 👍👍👍
I just bought a Citroen C1 with 102,000 km, 63,000 miles, let's see how long it will last!
Oh it'll do well over 120,000++ miles if properly serviced and looked after
@@marksouthwell4490 yes definitely yes,
This cars just had it's MOT, who ever bought it has only done 1,400 miles, totalling 255,606 miles
I am owner Citroën C1 1.0L 2007 with 159.000 kmh.
The engine sounds exactly the same at idle and high revs.
Just use 5w40 and Liqui moly mos2 additive and they no longer burn oil!
Thats really outstanding. Over her life did you change any of these the alternator/water pump/drive belt?
my 108er from 2016 have done 180.000miles or around 300.000km.. only oil, filter, and wheel bearings have been done.
Can you tell me about real urban fuel consumption. ? I ask this because i have the same with only 100000 Km and i need 9.5 l every 100Km travelling in the city.
Great car, tell me how much oil it consumes to service to service
Towards the end she was burning appropriately 1 litre per 1500 miles
@@Noactualdirection Was she put down? :(
I passed her on to a dealer who paid me £100 end of life value. I imagine they tarted her up for a tenner and sold on for a massive profit. She is still alive. AX10DGZ
@@Noactualdirection Looks like it might have gone now. It’s no longer taxed.
Thanks for the update
amazing. love citreons. does this have a cambelt?
I love them too.
No, it's a chain, hence the reliability.
@@Noactualdirection didn't know that. good car to buy then. i never buy a car with those poxy cambelts.
you certainly got your money out of that aye?
it maybe small it maybe shitty but it's all paid for and mine aye?
unlike about 95% of flash new cars all owned by the banks.
i would take that c1 anyday than have a huge loan for some stupid car.
Toyota underneath. However, impressive mileage. Not seen one this high
Don't ever say that again it's a Toyota engine Citroen could never
Made by Toyota
Yes, that's correct.
Yes IT is :) my friend working on these cars in " Kolín - Czechia TPCA" (toyota, citroen, peugeot and Lexus) i had to buy one aswell in the same color like this one. Very good car. Iam using it for long trips like 500 miles from Poland to Czechia minimal 1 time in month. Without any problem :)
why get rid of the car
How comes you got rid of it?
I had just replaced the rear wheel bearings. This then made me notice how bad the front felt. I decided not to sink any more money into it in case the engine started playing up. There comes a time when there is only so much money I was willing to Spend. Was a reliable little basic car.
