I live in Avery County, and Grandfather is one of my favorite places. I am always grateful for Hugh Morton's fantastic stewardship.

I grew up in Caldwell County where Grand Father Mountain is always visible. My grandparents lived in Carries Flat, which is a short ways below the Mountain. It is a great place to visit. The views from there are awesome. Table Rock is also a worthwhile trip and not far away.

The first land grant # 2169 for 100,600 acres in Burke and Wilkes Counties that included Grandfather Mountain was July 14 1795 to William Cochran and William Tate who were from Morganton and part of the Rutherford Land Company.

I seen a video once about the Appalachians were at one time taller than Mt. Everest. When you get to WV there are lots of ridges. But once you get high enough the mountains are flat on top. It's actually a plateau in the area of Beckley, WV. . . . Just saying.

How did grandfather mountain 🏔️ fare from hurricane 🌀 Helene? Does anyone have any information on it?

And hurricane Helene came through and stopped over this areas of NC and destroyed the area it's mighty suspicious that this storm would stop over this area and land grabs are going on due to the lithium mines and quartz crystals mines

Evidently no one knows the truth about the time! Can you even imagine one thousand years? Life is too short, even to think that back in Genesis they lived to be 1,000 yrs., but something happened and we were given 120yrs. Mark13:30-32... and the last day=1,000yrs, I shall be perfected. Mark10:29-31... But many "that are" first shall be last; and the last first. (*Linear time line= plumeline) the earth is spinning faster, making the days shorter... think!
