Day 18 of EPIC | 40 Min Chest and Triceps Workout at Home

- The arms and chest are targeted in Day 18 of the EPIC Program! Full of super sets throughout and finishing with bodyweight push ups, this workout is definitely going to push up triceps to a new level.
The shoulders and core involved also alongside this chest and tricep workout.
You will need a mat and a pair of dumbbells. I am using 2 pairs (15kg and 8kg pairs) however you can use 1 pair and simply perform more reps etc!
The timer will be on for 45 seconds of work, followed immediately by another 45 seconds of work followed by 30 seconds rest.
We complete each of the main super sets for 3 sets.
Ensure to stop when you feel your form is being affected.
During the flyes, ensure a slight bend at elbows throughout.
With the skull crushers, ensure you are aware of position of upper part of arm that it remains as steady as possible (perpendicular to body) whilst lowering and rising of dumbbells.
During the tricep press, try to keep those elbows in by sides throughout.

Those diamond press ups and skull crusher push ups by then my arms just flopping around
I guess those push ups towards the end don’t really count as I was only able to do them one way - downwards. Never got back up again after that first attempt😂😂😂

I was laughing so hard too! I was like, there’s no way this is happening - every time I tried a push up I just flopped to the floor like a dead fish hahaha

I find skullcrusher pushups(toes) much easier than tricep or diamond, gotta do those on my knees. We'll get there, cause we're Epic! 👊💪👍
At age 62 I'm so glad I can do 90% of this work out...it's tough but I really like it.

Good for you! I am almost 42 and one of the reasons I do these workouts is because my grandma is 94, lives by herself, drives everywhere and gardens daily. I want that! So I am doing everything I can to make it happen.
Didn't break a sweat in this one but my arms are like spaghetti!!! My hands are also so so sore from holding the weights with them pushing into my hands!!! Such a good workout though Caroline!!! Smashed it AGAIN

Those push ups at the end were indeed nearly impossible. I modified a bit, because diamond push ups and skull crusher push ups are still beyond my capabilities :)

At the beginning of this workout I was thinking about how sore my quads were. They're not an issue anymore! Haha
haha, i'm debating on whether to start day 18 because of yesterday's workout. My quads are in another world.
I'm so late to this party, but feeling the benefits in every single muscle. I did quite a few weeks of your 30 minute and then full hour weights before starting Epic and I'm now two stone lighter and have lost all my middle aged spread 😍👍. My husband's worried I'm getting stronger than him, and my dad's started calling me 'muscles' 💪😁. Love you Caroline, you're the best there is!
So, Caroline, I said to myself “Barbara, if you’re going to do this then you’re going to fit these sessions in any way you can!” - and I have. Some have been broken into a few portions due to caring for a loved one, some have shifted days due to travelling, but ALWAYS, I find/make the time to follow along, and each day has me feeling such a great sense of accomplishment and encouragement. I cannot express how much this means to me, you are a constant in my days now. I still have problems doing full pushups, practicing them in the rest of my days. I was left quaking from this. I am amazed and astonished - never dreamed I could do this! . Many MANY thanks from the bottom of my heart (and the top off of my ‘skull crusher’ head! I hope your days are buoyed knowing that YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE in people’s lives through your kindness.

Is it just me, or is anyone else having trouble doing their hair after this workout 🤔😳🤣🤣 I love the tight hard feeling of my arms, but can’t do anything else right now. Love you Caroline ❤️❤️❤️
Yes I have trouble putting my hair back into a ponytail. As I spread my arms back on the sides of my head and pushed my arms back I do feel a tightness and sore. so I guess that means I'm doing something right maybe

Normally i only do a high bun for the top 1/3 of my hair, like this, nothing will be messed up😜😜

My glutes are sore from yesterday so this was very welcome! Im proud that I was able to use 15 lbs dumbbells for almost everything. I originally bought those for legs but using them for arms now feels awesome. On the 1.15 reps tricep presses, I kept shaking and couldn't identify the source. It was my chest! I didn't feel much engagement there but it was definitely working. Haven't missed a day since I started and I am already so impressed with my improvement in strength and physique. This is a program that stands the test of time for sure. Onward and upward!
I'll be using my feet for tasks for the rest of the day. GREAT WORKOUT!

This was by far one of the toughest chest workoutsin all of Caroline's workouts.! I used 30, 15, and 12 lbs. The finisher I completed on my knees. I had no strength left.
I did this workout and it was good. The body weight push ups at the end was very difficult to do. However I managed to do only few. Thanks caroline.

today was SO hard after yesterday. -18 Celsius outside, 1ft of snow but I'm still in the garage working out at 5am before class. I had to wear two sets of pants, two jerseys, a snow coat and a hat over my workout gear! Honestly I'm very proud of myself for getting this far. I religiously followed 5 of chloe ting's programs and found progress but I HATED focusing on how I looked, and I hated that style of workout. Just not for me. Then I found your channel, and thank god I did because your workouts are *amazing* I used to be unable to bring myself to finish 15 minutes, now I easily do an hour. I'm stronger, happier and proud.
even on hard days like today, I remind myself tough people are never made from easy situations. I have a muscle problem, but you know what? my muscles still work. That's still a gift.
within 18 days of your program I've gone from struggling with 5 pound weights to using 15-25.

Oh my goodness! I was feeling a little despondent after yesterday, my head wasn’t in the right space and I struggled with the leg exercises. But today was amazing 😁. Thank you for being so inspirational Caroline and also all of you. Seeing Caroline’s cheeky grin and thumbs up mid-way through made me laugh, but a definite motivator. Onward….

Wow! 😳 Just wow! 😵 This was one killer workout! My muscles were vibrating 1/4 the way in! 😂 And forget those pushups at the end! Lol! JK, I did get a couple reps out at a time! Although, I did have issues with my palms from the weight on them constantly - I used a massage ball during the breaks! 😂 Great session Caroline! We smashed it together! See you all Friday! 👊🏻
That was so hard. I used a bench to get more range of motion and found I couldn’t maintain my 10 kgs and had to drop down to 8kg. As it progressed I got lighter and lighter until I finished on 3kgs and my chest and biceps were shaking and I was struggling push out 6 reps. The bench will be a staple in future , at least I don’t need to buy more weights😅. This is a great progression workout, thank you again.

Day 18 ✔️ completed. Tough one!!!! But I like it tough YEAHHH and I love the music!! I use quite lighter weights due I am still waiting to receive an order. But it is still a killer doing more reps I can tell you that. And doing more reps with lighter weight with proper form, I can tell you, it burns!! Just in case someone is reading this and having doubts about the dumbbell weights. Not sure what you have in mind after this 10 weeks challenge. (some holiday for you maybe ??I mean you so much deserve it. ) I am looking forward to receive heavier weights and advance. But so happy to learn the proper form techniques, as I will need it to lift heavier. So I repeat : A million thanks Caroline! ❣️💓💪🏼

Done . Lordy what a hard one. The pushups at the end, well I looked at the ground more that anything else. But I did attempt them but lol they did not happen except for the cobra ones and the ones right at the end , I did have to go on my knees 💕💜💕 thank again Caroline for an absolute amazing workout 🏋️♂️

I think you forgot to mention over-the-counter pain killers on the list of things we will need for this workout, lol! It was oh so very humbling when my triceps absolutely refused to do some of those push-ups until I was on my knees. Lots of love to all you guys!

My arms were trembling doing unilateral chest press. Amazing workout. I feel amazing, 52 and so strong! Thank you, Caroline. Not an ache, not a pain anywhere. I truly feel like I did 15-20 yrs ago. So important to eat healthy and exercise - together both mentally and physically so important.. As I get older, my commitment to eating healthy and exercising is paying off 10 fold... I see it and feel it every day. I wake up @ 4am to start my day with you.. Every day is a blessing...

Thank you so much Caroline for these workouts! I own a distillery in South Africa and due to Covid, the government has banned alcohol now for the 4th time since March 2020. These really help me get through the days.
I would really like to get stronger to be able to do those pistol squats and bone crusher pushups, do you have any suggestions? Perhaps strengthening specific muscle groups to make these possible.

Hi Caroline, I do your tricep 20mins workout everyday with 3kg×2 and 5 kg×2 dumbbells. I must say, I am improving day by day. My loose fat converted to strong arms. You are the only one who uploaded 20 mins video on tricep and now this one. Thanks a lot.
To make this more intense i will use more heavy dumbbells (10kg) for single dumbbell exercises. You have covered standing tricep workout also in this epic video. I love this video. I am going to do this at 3pm.

Caroline! This workout is off the charts! I can usually do everything but I had to tap out numerous times in this one. Especially at the end - I never stopped completely but I just had to take a few breaks here and there and that’s not something I typically have to do. OMG just done this 1!! Must be one of my favourite so far!! Absolutely burner blast!!! Who would have thought that lying on the matt for 40 minutes can burn 430 kcal?? What?? OMG I am not sure I will be able to hold a coffee cup in today... what an amazing awesomeness!!!! Thank You goddess ❤️
I respected an odd pain I had yesterday and moved my workout to today - glad I did. I still can only do one or two FULL pushups, but I unflaggingly try. I know its a building thing, like a marathon. And I remember thinking at the end of my first marathon that it was as much the journey as finally reaching the goal. That we should do it out of enthusiasm and motivation rather than that feeling like “oh NO, I don’t want to do this” - to respect oneself and enjoy the trek there... we get in such a hurry sometimes we lose the gift it all is. Its all about balance but pushing yourself that little bit harder - because you WANT to. This was a wonderful workout, the think I’m enjoying about this second pass (till I get back to 33 and beyond) is that I am more familiar with the moves and what my body is capable of and even learned to Center on doing moves correctly which I had not the first time, in my eagerness. Thank you, Caroline!

What a fantastic session ! My hands were sore from holding the dumbbells for all the chest press variations 😅. You weren’t kidding at the beginning when you said the push ups would be hard after this... I couldn’t do a single tricep push up, and only a few diamond ones on my knees, and had to revert back to the cobra push ups instead of the skull crusher ones (you’re such a superwoman for mastering those!! They have me like: « but... HOW 😮😱 »). I know we all say this all the time, but thanks a million Caroline for this amazing challenge, it is really unlike anything you can find on RUclips, definitely unique for a whole bunch of reasons ❤️. Day 18 DONE! 💪🏻
WHOA! my arms are feeling it after this workout! I predict struggling to lift my arms all weekend :-D. Looking forward to continuing this program with you!

That was intense! And so great! Enjoyed the challenge; what a workout to smash!! 👊🏻 My chest and arms were full on constantly quivering the entire time by the end.🤩 Loved all the variations. Those pushups were near impossible at the end but I was still able to push some out!😁 Thanks again Caroline! I'm making the best of the break working my way through Epic..loving it!
