This was amazing! Robbie birthed it, Liam murdered it, Aabria desecrated it, Anjali brought it back, Ashley comforted it, Matt slit its throat from behind and burned it to ashes, and Aimee delivered an amazing eulogy. Perfection.
I think Matt just gave his nips a bit more attention after Ash and ended up setting up Aimee for a diamond cutter nip story. Otherwise he did pretty good

Liam calling out Robbie for the alliteration is hilarious since Liam's stories were: 1. A long ghost story liberally peppered with German words. 2. A cute story with 813,212 named duckies.
watching Liam's face during Aimee's performance is fun because you can literally see him recognize his best friend's energy in another person and go full golden retriever in realtime
somehow the vibe ashley gives every narrative telephone is: POV you've entered a lesbian trucker bar, and sat down next to someone who's had maybe just one too many coors, but she's goin thru it, and by god is she gonna tell you all about it
My favorite part about narrative telephone is how often an off-handed comment about the story (i.e.: "It was an unfortunate name, but his nips were really chiseled.") becomes the entire plot of the tale.

I will paraphrase Terry Pratchett's Discword: Granny Weatherwax was a strong witch, but she couldn't seem to look the part. Her nose was aquiline at best, no amount of toad rubbing could make any wart appear on her fair and mole-less skin, and despite her tea being so sweet the spoon could stand in the liquid, she had strong teeth and no cavities. She wasn't jealous, this is a sentiment only stupid people have. But it wasn't always easy to sit next to Gytha "Nanny" Ogg, who managed to lose all of her dentition by the age of 30 (with the exception of an extremely stubborn and efficient last tooth) and a skin to go with, seemingly without much help needed.

It's so interesting seeing what new critters think. During EXU, i had to keep telling myself "don't compare the GM's", and "give the new players a chance", and sometimes "just keep going and try having fun". It worked, of course, it just took a lot of work. My brain naturally likes to compare and create competition.

I just showed my boyfriend the original story by Robbie and then Aimee's story directly thereafter. This is how he described his experience: In Robbie's story the group was driving down an empty highway in a cabriolet. There was nothing and noone obstructing their path, just the soft summer breeze blowing though their hair and they had the time of their lives. In Aimee's story, they were driving in a wreck of a car, directly towards a trail of oil but they didn't stop. Then they hit the trail of oil and spun 'round and 'round in the most glorious way, so glorious in fact that they even started spinning themselves inside the already spinning wreck. :D I had to laugh really hard at this so I just wanted to share ;)
It makes perfect sense to me that Aimee's the Sam of this group. I mean, she works so closely with him, and he's the one who brought her into the CR family!
Every time I hear the ending theme I'm reminded of the beginning stages of the pandemic, how I couldn't see my friends or go anywhere, and how during those dark times this show brought me such joy, seeing a group of friends laugh and tell silly stories... I don't know if I can describe it properly, but it feels like a hug, it makes me feel at peace, it makes me feel like for a while, everything's OK. Thank you, Critical Role, for doing this show.
