Aseptic Gowning for the Cleanroom

  • One of the primary safeguards that life science companies use to help prevent contamination in cleanroom operations is Gowning. Gowning is basically putting on clothing -- in this case layers of specially designed garments, covers, masks and gloves -- that isolates your body from the clean room environment.
    Gowning is more involved than just slipping on a coverall and going to work. Gowning is itself a process, with carefully sequenced steps to ensure that your body is fully covered, and that the protective garb remains free of contamination.
    In this video, we'll demonstrate the top-down approach for both general and aseptic gowning.

    Excellent!!! My only question is that between 12:42 to 12:52 the new (second) right sterile glove is resting on the outer surface of the inner plastic wrap that was touched early (12:38-1240) by the first (previous) right glove. Maybe he should have just lifted up out of the the inner plastic wrap at 12:38. Any thought?

    Way too many steps for me to remember. That's gotta be a pain to have to do the whole process over again if you have to use the bathroom frequently. Also I would never be comfortable in that outfit because I'd get hot rather easily.

    This makes no sense, if your pants aren't supposed to touch the floor how do you avoid contamination when your feet that have been touching the floor has to go through the pant legs? I know he has on shoe covers but his shoe covers are touching the floor.

    • @angryjoe98
      @angryjoe98 11 месяцев назад

      The idea is you are containing the contamination on the inside of your pant leg the only thing that matters is keeping the particles and bacteria on the inside and the outside staying sterile.

    • @jasminsanchez4805

      That’s because the glove is already sterile you can touch the outside but not the inside on the glove because the inside is considered non sterile

    • @JessicaFisher80
      @JessicaFisher80 4 года назад +1

      @@manuelcarignan5833 the fact that they're gowning in the same room they are exiting to go to the clean room area. And they're literally touching the outside of their garments while they're saying "dont do that". No airlocks and no HEPA filtration. Only one bag rather than two containing the garments and no sanitization of the packages before touching them. The list goes on and on
