If you are using kg (as some people here have mentioned) and want to calculateyour cals: Take your weight and kg and do the following for e.g losing weight: no of kg *2.2*12= the number of calories you are looking for. For the first formula (where you maintain your weight): no of kg*2.2*15= the number of calories you should hit to maintain weight

Focussing on the protein and estimating carbs and fat on to that information is actually helpful, because it sets my mind to what I can eat, and not to what I can't eat. Thank you, Magnus!!!

I think you left out a very crucial piece of information about fats and carbs. Fat intake should never be less than 45-50g per day as it is imperative for hormon production. You need to emphasize this because many would cut down on fat to dangerous levels when it's the opposite they should do!

I believe diet works, and so does making better nutrition choices, and everything in between. However, the problem is, whether we could stick with it. Being a parent who always prepare foods for my growings kids, i sometimes nibble here and there, loosing it here and there, while pulling my hair here and there 😂

Thanks for this breakdown. I actually know someone that does cardio about 4 times a week and alternates between sprinting for 30 seconds and rests about 3 minutes and on other days he joggs for about 25 minutes which equals out to around 3 miles at his pace and some days he walks for 45 minutes but the individual is still struggling with love handles. Anyone else have any ideas. He doesn't really eat out much.

    • @magnus_method
      @magnus_method  3 месяца назад

Protein and carbs contain 4calories per gram and Fat 9calories per gram. So take you total amount of calories you should eat in a day and do the math.

Something I've always struggled with is the fact that I am 200 pounds, but my gut holds a lot of it. I'm always focused on losing weight, but Magnus is also 200 pounds. Would it be better to lose weight or focus on shifting my macros (protein) to match my body weight and go from there? I eat about 1500 cals a day when I'm trying to lose weight. With this video I'm leaning towards worrying less about weight loss and more about Macros and maybe the weight loss will come with it?

    • @magnus_method

    Hello !.
I weigh 66 kilos and I have some belly fat .
What I have to do to look like Skarsgard in Legend of Tarzan ?.
At least almost as he looked then .
Should I eat no carbs for some days ?.
Maybe eating only brown rice ?.
Is it better to eat rice or potatoes for belly fat loss ?.
I try to eat more protein than fats and carbs and I can live without bread ,pasta and fried food but ...eating no sugar for days is hard .

What I really like about the Ketogenic Diet is that ( if you are doing it right ) there is no calorie counting, micro counting, or anything like that other than your daily carb allowance with is very simple. For me, 50g of carbs per day or less to say in ketosis without worry ( I’m 6’4” 250lbs and very active ) and constant ketosis monitoring.
    Why?
The human body is pre programmed to signal the brain when it is “full” and nothing triggers this response better than fat.
