rtc7788 Ok, so? People do 20's and 40's style makeup and I really doubt the people doing those were born back then. That's why we have pictures so people can see what others wore and base a tutorial off of it
oceana311 Which would make it not as legit as someone who actually was part of that generation. You could have someone emulate what they see in photos, or you can have someone who actually was doing makeup in that era. Which is more authentic? Would you rather have someone who actually swims teach you how to swim? Or would you rather have someone doesn't swim but watches video of people swimming, teach you how to swim?
luckyDancer100 it's still mine. I don't think a classic red lip has ever really gone out of style. I do think the biggest problem people have is getting the right color of red. If it swipes out pink or yellow I can't wear it. I need the cool based blue red.
Lipstick on the cheeks. That takes me back to when my mom was teaching me how to do make up :) Also, I think she only did one eyebrow. Drew being cute again
Maggie P i love to use lipstick as a blush, love the creamy-ness of it 😁 also way cheaper and you can use your favourite lipstick color, to me that's the most practical thing you can do with any makeup tool
Now THIS is a REAL 90's makeup tutorial. She is real, she's a real 90s rockchick i love her so much. Love 90s fashion, always did. But also annoys me 15 year old kids with all their ''neogrunge'' looks all of the sudden lol.
+Liszle love your comment i'm 17 and I'm not a 90s kid but I am sick of kids wearing just over the top fake grunge look it's not real, I grew up watching a lot of 90s shows and movies mostly because of my brother, he was a 90s kid, but kids now try to have 90s fashion tastes when it's really not, maybe late 90s but not early- mid the really hardcore 90s. Seems like late 90s was early 2000s to me very similar. This video was so real. finally I'm not the only one annoyed with the neogrundge looks kids are wearing.
+Alexis VM history repeats itself we update fashion and technology and other thinks every day and every decade. We are constantly building off each other, for instance converses were founded in 1908 and were known has a sport shoe now they are casual shoes to walk around in.
Brick red. Thank you Drew, for my whole life I have been trying to figure out the one thing about the 90's look that made ladies look like a natural angel, and you pointed out. Thank you!
I LOVED drew during the 90s. Her hair was adorable & she inspired many of us to rock pretty lingerie instead of tank tops. She was everything feminine that I loved. She might have been my first girl crush! It's so fitting that she would have moved into the realm of beauty & she's doing a great job.
I was born in 1980...I was a teen all through the 90's. I loved drew! I would get told often I looked like her..although I never really saw it lol. I did the waterline..and the lipstick blush..AND A TON of powder to matte that skin ALL UP! This really takes me back!
I remember that we used to put concealer on lips with dark edge and also we used to put eyeshadow just In one shade- colors like Blue, green and even pink
cindy pruitt preach! Omg, could you imagine false lashes in high school? I barely had time to do the basics. That was, and still is, for special occasions. No way in hell I'm doing all that on the daily.
This is 90s. I wore Revlon Toast of New York lipstick and matte skin. 90s was a rebellion to 80s bright colors. Everyone wore brown based everything. I think it still looks beautiful and honestly I have to have dewy now and I add more corals ,but I still wear some of these colors right now. I think MAC Twig and Retro still are perfect.
cindy pruitt I use to have that shade in High School myself Toast Of New York was my sophomore year in 1995 that shade put Claudia Schiffer on the map for Revlon. I also had Raisin Rage, and Moon Drops in Cinnamon, which put Cindy Crawford n the map too.
cindy pruitt I also had Blackberry shade. and Naturally Nude later on in 1998, 99 era. I missed the 90s Revlon is still the best at their Lipsticks, and Glosses too. oh and Rosewine was also my going out look. in 1999 when I turned 21 as legal to drink, lol
What's awesome (and gave me a little chuckle) about this is I was googling pics from when I was in high school (late 90s) and one of Drew Barrymore came up. This is EXACTLY how how her makeup looked! Like, when I had looked at the pic, it looked to me like she had taken powder over her eyes and I thought to myself, "Did she really? Or is it just photography back then or something?" As she says in this video, she most certainly did! I love that she literally didn't change a thing. ❤ Thank you for sharing, Drew! This was giving me all the nostalgia. 😊
How I miss the 90's, I am still a fan of Drew! She is just flawless and Amazing. How I feel bad for the younger generations that missed out what my generation got to experienced growing up. We had the 80's and 90's. Now the kids these days are reliving the 60's,70's,80's, & 90's era. Even my daughter says she wished she was born in my generation lol.
Btw your daughter says she wished she grew up in the 90s has nothing to do with you whining about how great the 90s were no? Also if your child is not allowed to be a kid or isn't having a childhood it's bc YOU are a shitty parent! Kids are how they are nowadays bc of the adults who raised them! Accountability starts with YOU!
Yeah, this is totally legit 90s and how things were done back in the day. The look is on point for the 90s, too. And it is from one of our rocker-alternative-grunge 90's It Girls at that.
I personally loved her look during an interview when she was 15; blonde bed head, black blazer, and literally nothing but red lipstick on. She was GORGE 👌🏼
This is so crazy. I was looking up 90's makeup today, and I was thinking that I wished Drew Barrymore had a tutorial out there, and this just popped up on my wall.
Love this look, she's right that muddy red, really makes her eyes pop and contrasts with her ivory complexion making everything stand out, she looks beaut.
Drew has never gone out of style. She has always felt like that BFF you've known forever. I may be a few years older than her, but she was always my idol.
I like the way she just says "a brick red lipstick" or whatever and then lists the exact products at the end, instead of name-dropping brands all the way through like the exact brand of pencil liner is important...
I was a teen in the 90s, but didnt used too much make up, just eye liner and if I went out, a red or red-violet lip color. Its true, we didnt make up so much, and if we do... it shows it. It wasnt like now look like: "I dont use anything", but I used lot of things... lol. I still dont use too much make up, but I am learning a lot with this tutorials on you tube. Drew look incredible , I want that fluid eye liner.
Aww i love this video.Drew is so cool and beautiful.i was born in 1982,and i've been watching every of her movies and also resect what she has been doing.
Drew, as a 90s baby myself you did a true 90s makeup look. My teen years makeup looks were definitely done the same way. Matte powder was used all over the face, yes even the eyelids. I too, miss the true brick red lipsticks. Your 90s makeup look was on point! Great job!!
I think for Drew it looks different, because her eyes slope downward, and since her she is defining that more, it looks bigger for her eye shape cause she exaggerate it, like Biba makeup
With MY eye shape if I line my waterline harshly in the corners especially, my eyes POP open and it does soften the rest of the stuff I do to my lid. Maybe with someone with a thinner opening it doesn't.
waterline liner is the only thing that can make my eyes really stand out from its deep set hooded-ness. I think it's a matter of giving definition to where the eyes start and stop otherwise you have orbs list in skin.
Contrary to belief, black eyeline on your waterline actually closes up the eyes and makes you look more tired. Applying it only on the upper lash line and very subtly on the lower lash line as opposed to the water line, is what opened up the eyes.
I love how she has that hair look like a blonde surfer girl without using any products and just mess it up with her fingers. Drew is such a natural beauty.
i LOVE she does the lipstick rouge! whenever i do my lips, i wipe around the line with my finger and put it on the apples of my cheeks then hit it with a lil powder. best blush ever
I started wearing makeup in the 90s and I still do the same eyeliner trick and I ALWAYS go for the matte powder finish. I carry one in my purse and have a backup powder in my car! Lol
I loved Drew when i was little, I can't even tell how many times I watched her movie Ever After... this was the best movie of my childhood and Drew the best cinderella ever
In the 90s basic women in my country just started wearing makeup (as a factory worker wasn't a beauty standard anymore) and I think she's really the one who should give advices, since there are tutorials made by too young people
This is so spot on. I thought a perfect matte base was the most gorgeous thing and black liner was a must have for me every day lol. I was too young to do dark lipsticks, but I loved trying all of them and deep reds were always my favorite. I think black eyeliner in the 90's was the eyebrows of today.
I love Drew and her and Adam Sandler are my 90s childhood King and Queen when it comes to films in the 90s! Rock on!! I definitely still rock the 90s grunge bed head look like everyday of my life!
I still go for the matte look and the darkest red I can find for lips. One that's a kind of red purple. I'm sure her makeup line is great but my go-to color for lips is Revlon Black Cherry. You may even describe it as a black red and it's not what I have on in my photo here. It make my lips look bigger and my face just pop. I use even less makeup now and when I see what girls actually paint on now...Omg. My routine is moisturizer, light foundation, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, and some finishing powder. Done in 10-15 minutes. If you keep your skin in good condition, you don't need to cake it on. Avoiding sun is a must.
I approve, she still has that 90's vibe to her. she was so badass in the 90's
+Adam Anesthetic what are her best 90`s films?
+Henry Le Corno a very good movie is 'poison ivy' from 1992
should see it thanks
+Henry Le Corno 'Never Been Kissed' and 'The Wedding Singer' are classics!
+Lauren Crouch yes saw them both
This is a dream come true, I wish all the classic 90s celebrities would do tutorials for how they did their makeup back in the day~
DahliasDarkside and 50s 60s 70s and 80s stars!
Aunty Agony yaaaaaas I love learning what people did before me thank you for sharing that interesting tidbit 💙
No. No you don't. Trust.
Yes! Sarah Michelle Gellar, Brandy, Winona Ryder, Alicia Silverstone can all do one
drew basically OWNED the 90s. all her looks were so iconic. i love her
This is a legit 90's tutorial. I see so many tutorials done by like kids who were like 5 years old near the end of the 90's.
rtc7788 Legit, half the 90s tutorials on youtube are by kids who were born in 2001.
Jordan A whats wrong with that? lol
Sumayyah Esa They weren't even born in the 90's...
rtc7788 Ok, so? People do 20's and 40's style makeup and I really doubt the people doing those were born back then. That's why we have pictures so people can see what others wore and base a tutorial off of it
oceana311 Which would make it not as legit as someone who actually was part of that generation. Red lip was definitely her signature look in the 90's
luckyDancer100 the dark cherry look def was
babyhols666 I love dark cherry lipstick. I’m not really into the glossy, highlighted look of today.
luckyDancer100
So true ...Poison Ivy !
Simpaticaa I fricken loved her in poison ivy. Iconic✝️📿
luckyDancer100 it's still mine. I don't think a classic red lip has ever really gone out of style. I do think the biggest problem people have is getting the right color of red. If it swipes out pink or yellow I can't wear it. I need the cool based blue red.
This video is a gem. A 90s makep tutorial by one of the decade's It girls? It brought me back #missingmychildhood
She is spot on. I remember that lipstick especially and the all over matt powder. Ahhh the memories.
i love her!! drew Barrymore is the epitome of 90's i sooo miss the 90's ❤❤
Lipstick on the cheeks. That takes me back to when my mom was teaching me how to do make up :)
Also, I think she only did one eyebrow. Drew being cute again
Maggie P i love to use lipstick as a blush, love the creamy-ness of it 😁 also way cheaper and you can use your favourite lipstick color, to me that's the most practical thing you can do with any makeup tool
Makes your face match, subtly it’s draws the look together.
This is legit. Drew's a 90s icon.
C'mon Drew we all know you ARE the 90s style icon !!!! The way you mixed grunge with flower power girly styles was simply amazing! Love you!!!!
I agree so much to this
Now THIS is a REAL 90's makeup tutorial. She is real, she's a real 90s rockchick i love her so much. Love 90s fashion, always did. But also annoys me 15 year old kids with all their ''neogrunge'' looks all of the sudden lol.
well, fashion evolves. you guys obviously had good fashion if its come back to be stylish again lol
+Liszle love your comment i'm 17 and I'm not a 90s kid but I am sick of kids wearing just over the top fake grunge look it's not real, I grew up watching a lot of 90s shows and movies mostly because of my brother, he was a 90s kid, but kids now try to have 90s fashion tastes when it's really not, maybe late 90s but not early- mid the really hardcore 90s. u sound just like me,chica
Everything is "Tumblr" now
GOTTA love Drew Barrymore. She always feel so "real" to me.
Brick red. Thank you Drew, for my whole life I have been trying to figure out the one thing about the 90's look that made ladies look like a natural angel, and you pointed out. Thank you!
She has great features too really full lips as is.
she's so beautiful and real
I LOVED drew during the 90s. Her hair was adorable & she inspired many of us to rock pretty lingerie instead of tank tops. She was everything feminine that I loved. She might have been my first girl crush! It's so fitting that she would have moved into the realm of beauty & she's doing a great job.
✿Nor.Cal.Gal✿ I liked her wild short hair!
I was born in 1980...I was a teen all through the 90's. I loved drew! I would get told often I looked like her..although I never really saw it lol. I did the waterline..and the lipstick blush..AND A TON of powder to matte that skin ALL UP! This really takes me back!
plentifullove30 you totally do tho!
plentifullove30 her profile pic is Marilyn Monroe.
hahahahahahaha crying
80s born 90s raised baby❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Heathcliff me 2
I remember that we used to put concealer on lips with dark edge and also we used to put eyeshadow just In one shade- colors like Blue, green and even pink
Yes, and NO blending. 😀
Yes, makeup was very basic in the 90s. Lipstick was the key.
Lipstick is still my fave, I just can't get into all the false lashes and things younger girls do now.
cindy pruitt preach! Omg, could you imagine false lashes in high school? I barely had time to do the basics. That was, and still is, for special occasions. No way in hell I'm doing all that on the daily.
yessssssss

I think it still looks beautiful and honestly I have to have dewy now and I add more corals ,but I still wear some of these colors right now. I think MAC Twig and Retro still are perfect.
cindy pruitt I love a good reddish brown lipstick!
I still wear Toast of New York lipstick. It's also a Frances Farmer movie, the name. ☆
Me too! More dewy and corals. They just make a person look so much younger. The matt brown/beige tones from the 90's are so aging.
cindy pruitt I use to have that shade in High School myself Toast Of New York was my sophomore year in 1995 that shade put Claudia Schiffer on the map for Revlon. I also had Raisin Rage, and Moon Drops in Cinnamon, which put Cindy Crawford n the map too.

Drew is totally adorable! She had killer 90's makeup, and clothes I always wanted in the 90's. I really miss those days!
What's awesome (and gave me a little chuckle) about this is I was googling pics from when I was in high school (late 90s) and one of Drew Barrymore came up. This is EXACTLY how how her makeup looked! Drew seems so lovely!
How I miss the 90's, I am still a fan of Drew! She is just flawless and Amazing. How I feel bad for the younger generations that missed out what my generation got to experienced growing up. We live in another generation too. I think we shouldn't envy nothing except music.
Verónica A. Yeah racism isn't missed or non equal rights
You sound old lmao
Btw your daughter says she wished she grew up in the 90s has nothing to do with you whining about how great the 90s were no? Ahahaha! All these SJWs are ridiculous! Lol
Ahhh the 90's.... Drew and I are the same age and we peaked in the 90's. It was a great time to be alive and young.
This is so crazy. I was looking up 90's makeup today, and I was thinking that I wished Drew Barrymore had a tutorial out there, and this just popped up on my wall.
i friggin love this woman. Thanks Drew! You are a true 90s Queen!
SHE IS SO PRETTY
Love this look, she's right that muddy red, really makes her eyes pop and contrasts with her ivory complexion making everything stand out, she looks beaut.
this is basically the makeup i do now haha
Same ☺
Same .
aww i love her shes so cute
I love 90s Drew Barrymore!!
Drew has never gone out of style. She has always felt like that BFF you've known forever. I may be a few years older than her, but she was always my idol.
i remember also having the lip liner being dark
SkyeAcid Yes!
SkyeAcid me too! Wonder why she didn’t do that?
SkyeAcid love that look.
Oh man, I love how natural she makes it, not stuffed toll the point you don't look like yourself. Adorable and beautiful. Perfect
I like the way she just says "a brick red lipstick" or whatever and then lists the exact products at the end, instead of name-dropping brands all the way through like the exact brand of pencil liner is important...
Seriously, I adore so much this woman :) She's perfect!
my fav actress in the 90s was drew 💓
drew is so gorgeous !!!!
I was a teen in the 90s, but didnt used too much make up, just eye liner and if I went out, a red or red-violet lip color. Its true, we didnt make up so much, and if we do... it shows it. Drew look incredible , I want that fluid eye liner.
Drew, we 90s girls still love you to bits!! This was awesome! Like looking at you again back then. Time warp!!
If you want to get any kind of fashion tips of the 90's, there is no one better than Drew Barrymore. She is the ultimate free spirit 90's chick. 🌼🌻
This is so beautiful, so simple, so clean, so pure. And Drew is lovely as always.
Drew is so pretty. She does not even need makeup, but she is great at it! I love Drew!
I miss those lip colors too! I rocked that red!
Julie Carlin Then wear it.
Just love her and her 90's red lipstick so chic 😊
Aww i love this video.Drew is so cool and beautiful.i was born in 1982,and i've been watching every of her movies and also resect what she has been doing.
薔薇薫麻美 I was born in 82 also. I love Drew.
Drew, as a 90s baby myself you did a true 90s makeup look. My teen years makeup looks were definitely done the same way. Matte powder was used all over the face, yes even the eyelids. I too, miss the true brick red lipsticks. Your 90s makeup look was on point! Great job!!
Her speaking voice reminds me of Courtney Love. I adore both of them.
I HEARD IT TOO!! Glad someone else noticed I thought I was getting to obsessed haha.
Kat Manson They're good friends so it makes sense :)
Kat Manson hahaha i was watching her and courtney love popped up in my head 😂😂😂😂
Drew was born in LA, so was I and we all sound like that. Courtney's not but she does sound LA-ish.
Drew Barrymore is Frances Bean Cobains' god mother 😉
Drew you are such a beautiful person on the inside and outside. I LOVE you!
90’s teenager here!!!! Yess!!!!!
Black liner on the waterline does NOT open up your eyes. Makes your lashes look longer. Yes. But definitely does not make your eyes look bigger
+0LolaLola exactly. Lining your water line with black makes your eyes smaller

Contrary to belief, black eyeline on your waterline actually closes up the eyes and makes you look more tired. Applying it only on the upper lash line and very subtly on the lower lash line as opposed to the water line, is what opened up the eyes.
Shes very pretty and the makeup is simple and suits everybody 💖
I love you drew Barrymore 💜💚💛❤️
I love her so much
Honestly in love with her! She has always been such an inspiration to me
Love ❤️ Drew Barrymore. This is a cool look that I wish I could pull off. Maybe I'll give it another go.
My absolute favorite 90s look was Anna Nicole back in her classic Guess modeling days. She was basically THE 90s icon.
I love how she has that hair look like a blonde surfer girl without using any products and just mess it up with her fingers. Drew is such a natural beauty.
Drew Barrymore in the 90s' was everything, she was the sunflower girly grunge rock chick.
Drew, you're such a special and wonderful person ❤️️
i only put eyeliner on the upper water line. i love the effect it gives. i've been doing it that way since day one
Loved the 90's.. Rock & roll
queen of 90’s beauty. ✨
We totally rocked black eyeliner so hard in the 90s and 2000s too! So cute
My 90s icon!
She still talks out of the one side of her mouth like when she was in E.T. Love her💜
I love Drew. I love how she talks too.
Love you Drew; your family are and were iconic actors. I love Ethel, John and Lionel. xxxx
i LOVE she does the lipstick rouge! whenever i do my lips, i wipe around the line with my finger and put it on the apples of my cheeks then hit it with a lil powder. best blush ever
You know it's an accurate thing coming from someone who was young in the 90's, even more a movie industry and beauty icon like her
She is so beautiful!
i still do my makeup like that
The same as me . My be I use a little blush now , that I didn't used then , and for a weading some eye shadow , but just a little
I started wearing makeup in the 90s and I still do the same eyeliner trick and I ALWAYS go for the matte powder finish. I carry one in my purse and have a backup powder in my car! Lol
She still looks like a girl from Poison Ivy with this makeup :)
She was the 👑 of 90’s makeup look
I fucking love drew barrymore.
The makeup brings out her classic 90s beauty...vintage Drew Barrymore.
I loved Drew when i was little, I can't even tell how many times I watched her movie Ever After... this was the best movie of my childhood and Drew the best cinderella ever
Perfect ❤colors for a pretty woman
I love brick red lipstick! I wish was mor trendy, because nowadays it's a color difficult to find
BreakCards I know!
She's such a sweetheart
In the 90s basic women in my country just started wearing makeup (as a factory worker wasn't a beauty standard anymore) and I think she's really the one who should give advices, since there are tutorials made by too young people
This is so spot on. I thought a perfect matte base was the most gorgeous thing and black liner was a must have for me every day lol. I was too young to do dark lipsticks, but I loved trying all of them and deep reds were always my favorite. I think black eyeliner in the 90's was the eyebrows of today.
Named after this queen. I love her.
What a beautiful actress,it's a pity l can't see Drew Barrymore in new movies
I love Drew and her and Adam Sandler are my 90s childhood King and Queen when it comes to films in the 90s! Rock on!! I definitely still rock the 90s grunge bed head look like everyday of my life!
I still go for the matte look and the darkest red I can find for lips. One that's a kind of red purple. I'm sure her makeup line is great but my go-to color for lips is Revlon Black Cherry. Drew was my 90's beauty icon. The thin brows, lined lips, brown lipstick, bleached hair, and, eyeliner for days.
awww drew is so damn cute. still gives off major 90s vibes.
ok now i need courtney love to do one of these pls
