The more I peel back the layers, the more it justifies peeling back the layers! The restoration gets well underway with disassembly of our NSU Prima D.
I've just started working on my grandad's 1957 NSU Prima D - your two videos are already proving to be a great resource! I also have the old service / maintenance manual, so if you ever need a photo of a specific page feel free to reach out. I've got my scooter running following your part 1 guide, and have a few more seized bowden cables which have now been freed with copious amounts of WD-40. Thinking I'll end up taking it all fully apart as you have soon though. Cheers for the great videos, and kia ora from Aotearoa / New Zealand!
That's fantastic, thanks, Alex. Best of luck with the resto. Work is well underway here, but I'm a few weeks off the next video; I've discovered why the previous guy glued my one together... the panels are full of filler! 🛵
@@techshebeen Thank you, and looking forward to the next video when it does come out! Sounds like you'll have plenty to talk about 😅 I've found some fun stuff on mine too. Rubber mats installed with tar over the floor screws, a switch added between the batteries to turn them off because the headlight often fails to turn off, and a choke control bowden cable soldered on to the bar by the carburettor which must've been replaced at some stage because it's too long. Joys of working with old things I suppose!
Excellent, as always.
Thank you, Mr DJ!
👍😍
Nice work , very nice scooter ,love the red color .
Thank you! I haven't fully decided on what colour it will be eventually, but I have to say, Primas do look really good in red!

Well done Mr Shebeen!
Thank you, Mr Ted! 😂
Very interesting! I'm looking forward to seeing open heart surgery on that engine!
Hi - is the Prima a good choice for a first "resto"? - how simple is it for a novice to work on..?
I'll let you know in a few months time! 😂
@@techshebeen what are your initial thoughts? - I have been offered one...in bits....
@@quietmind30 My initial thoughts are very positive... but that's largely driven in this case by having all the bits to make up a full Prima. 🤞
@@techshebeen Yes, good point - this one is definitely not 100% complete 🤔. Enjoying your videos, keep up the good work !
