@@ReadySetRudy Thanks for the reply, I play on insane population but the respawn is six months because if I have to fight tooth and claw over several days to clear out one street it feels like an achievement but if the zeds come back the next day then what is the point in trying? My way I can clear an area and make it safe but the Zeds will reclaim it if I move away, I have started in Westpoint with the Gigamart as my base but I am working towards Louisville and as a single player I need to ensure I can get back to the city if (when) I die.
Quick tip for those storage units: If you kill a zed inside a building, there's a chance it will drop the corresponding key for that building. Can save you some time destroying all those doors.
I'll try to leave the last 10 or so zomboids to kite and then kill inside a building if I want to save the doors for this reason. Half the time I get a key. Half the time I die.
I've always picked Twiggy's for my base and it's fun to see what others do with it. I usually like to keep the camera facing sides intact and build my balcony on the upper right side (north). I use the garage area on the back for farms and the front one to store my vehicles. Lower level is an inside garage/workshop. Love that place.
Good luck! It has a bit of a learning curve, but there are many many fantastic youtube guides to help out. Combat can be a little tricky to get used to, but with a little practice you'll be taking down hordes in no time
Very very cool! I was playing this game a while back almost when it came out and i wanted to play again but i soon realized that i did not have it on steam so i pirated until i can afford it probably in a week or two. Anyhow, i wanted to suggest that you play with a friend so it gets a bit more fun for you and the viewers. I really love your base and i will watch more of your videos for sure! Keep up the work
As a twiggy's dweller let me tell you that would negate the charm of the place to begin with. Additionally, walls are not convenient in the case of having your base overrun, as you get less space to maneuver in. I've found that, other than one or two "airlocks", it's best to leave spaces open.
I've only plsyed some 70hrs, but I've nver found any posters; my base walls would be bare, except for my Medical Doctorate certificate. I found a mod that lets you jump (a distance of 4 tiles); that's game/base changing
You can pick up all the posters you see in the world, just like with the Medical Doctorate. But this is the first time I found posters just in a box like that. And jumping you say? I'll have to check it out
@@ReadySetRudy Yeah as I said I'm new to the game, I'm happy with vanilla currently, no mods, but I did have a look. A jumping mod on Steam (one of 00's). Even with my limited knowledge in to the game I can see the amazing potential for such an ability. Could you now build stairs up to a floating platform kite a horde up there, circle and destroy the stairs then jump to an adjacent platform. Would they stay up there or just walk and fall off!?! If not you could make intricate floating zombie walkway galleries!! :D Attach a Zombie to a rickshaw but facing in, sit in the seat and he'll push it trying to walk to you - Zombie powered rickshaw, easy enough to add a steering mechanism; or used as a normal rickshaw, load it up with all your kit and bags, attach him and just walk ahead of him as you use him as a valet for your stuff!!
Cool i never tried that one. I found a bunch of good stuff in Grapeseed one time. I try not to go too crazy with base decorating though because it can all go away very suddenly
I see that you are sleeping on average quality bed. I think that first piece of furniture anyone should get is big double bed with good sleeping quality.
I never usually think about the haha. But I probably should. My next target for looting/clearing is relatively close though so I'll be spending my nights at the base

I once knew a guy a who would make scrambled eggs in the microwave. But I have a hunch trying to microwave a whole egg would turn out a bit differently
You can’t deny how comfy the game gets when you have this down time and then the game goes hard on some pure horror violin and I’m all tense again
I love sitting in my base reading when it's storming out.
Carrying a refrigerator up a sheet rope is one of the most impressive displays of giga chad strength I've ever heard of.
chadded beyond belief
Kentucky weakest resident
I love these vanilla playthroughs were you simply play through the game with no challenge or anything
Just some good old fashioned zombie survival
Killing 60k Z's is not a challenge?
You know you are a Zomboid fan when you see a video and say to yourself "That's Twiggys tavern he's in Westpoint!"
That could be a fun game. Is there a Project Zomboid GeoGuesser?

Cool I'll have to try it next time. I've heard of that key dropping thing before but it never occurred to me to use it at a storage unit place
very nice narration and format. hope you blow up big
Big thank you!

Cool. Did you make the bottom floor into a garage? I was thinking of doing that
@@ReadySetRudy Yeah it looks great with the bar, honestly. Mancave vibes lol
First thing I thought when you pulled into the storage unit place was “YUUUUUUUUUUUP!!!!!!!”
It has to be done. They won't loot themselves!
01:30 Break a door of the warehouses, put a zombie inside and kill it, it will give you the key to all the doors of the warehouses.
I vibe with setting up in the bar, live out those Shaun of the dead dreams
Thinkin the same thing
Nice Base! I was lucky enough to find the antique oven in the west point storage shed.
Don't know how I how I came about this video, but I did find it entertaining, I might give this game a try
bought the game 4 days ago and I'm reaching 40 hours gametime soon

So... How did you die?
10:33 honestly one of my favorite movies.

Thanks a lot! A comfortable base is essential to survival
it was august 19th in game and it was 33 degrees outside and snowing lmao
there's a antique stove in a garage of a house in west point. near the school and police station. its a permanency fixture, always there.
Ah okay. I cleared that area out earlier too. Maybe I'll have to grab a second antique stove
@@ReadySetRudy double cooker
If you microwave an egg in the shell IRL, it will explode
A small part of me was expecting the microwave to explode in game
RUclips does a bit of magic sometimes. Love the voice and narrative.
Thanks! I'm all about that narrative 😁
You should really consider putting up walls and making rooms instead of having one giant open space. Your base would look so much nicer!

I'm probably gonna stick with the open floor, but I might put some wall/barrier around the storage area. We will see!
I like to stay in my base when there's a fog outside or slightly raining/medium rain(Don't like heavy rain) or when it snow, gosh it gets so comfy 😊
its super nice especially when your chillin on a multiplayer server with your bros and the server admin decided to activate rain sprinters...
In college i ate microwave scrambled eggs 5x a week. A little butter and crack the eggs in a coffee mug.,...fast breakfast on the go.
Neat! I used to know a guy at work that would do that. Never done it myself, just in this game haha
10:38 dude i know what god damn movie your talking about purely because we both explain the premise of it the exact same way
Haha cool. Potatoes always remind me of that movie now
great video

Pitstop has the BEST decorations for bases

Pretty nice.
Thanks glad you liked it! It's the apocalypse but it doesn't mean we can't be comfortable
No one talkin abt how it’s snowing in August
I see that you are sleeping on average quality bed. I think that first piece of furniture anyone should get is big double bed with good sleeping quality.
You don't want to know what I was sleeping on before I got the stretcher bed...
nice base!!
btw what's mod do you use?
Thanks! No mods. Just some sandbox modifications; no respawn, insane rare food, 2x exp, and I think I made cars a bit more common
The electricity saved by turning off lights is negligable
Great video. Just sub
Thanks for the sub!
you better hope that generator doesnt go boom on your next long trip or else your base will be a pile of ashes by time you get back D:
I never usually think about the haha. But I probably should. My next target for looting/clearing is relatively close though so I'll be spending my nights at the base
Can you make a playlist of these videos, and if you have it I can’t seem to find it
Here ya go

Do you have a modlist available?
I'm not using any mods on this playthrough, but I usually use these:
Filibuster Rhymes' Used Cars
Autotsar Trailers
Souk Filcher's Awesome Time
Become Desensitized
An Exhilaratingly Organized Literature Mod
Maximum Display Bars
Grapeseed
Lake Ivy
Fort Redstone
Night Sprinters [41.60+]
and others
this man has undiagnosed anger issues
Damn, what do you recommend?
Are you using a mod to make the corpses decompose?
Nope, its the default composition which I think is 9 days?
what is that mod that disappears dead body
It's the default sandbox settings. I believe it's 9 days or around there
You have West point warehouse design?
Nope, but that would be a good spot. It's the warehouse near the gas station and highway?
W
W
in wath city did you spawn in???
Rosewood
Then I moved to Fallas Lake
Now I'm in West Point
You people decorate your place?
Mine looks like a garbage pit with guns and bombs in the mix. Lol
Oh yeah definitely. It makes the eventually death of your character that much more tragic lol
you kinda sound like charborg
I looked him up and I can definitely hear the similarities.
@ReadySetRudy I made that up
Oh. I was being polite
Your shir mate
Yep I'm sure
Well at least this game not realistic to much at the cooking egg in microwave
