  • Join me as I unpack all the intricacies of Quentin Tarantino's classic film Pulp Fiction. This video will provide an in-depth explanation of the nonlinear storyline by putting it in chronological order. I'll break down the overlapping timelines of the three interwoven tales - "Vincent Vega and Marcellus Wallace's Wife", "The Gold Watch", and "The Bonnie Situation."

    Vincent's date didn't happen at the same time as the cab ride in The Gold Watch. The fight took place a few days later. You literally see Vincent after the fight - he walks into the trainer's room where the other boxer lies dead and Marsellus says "I'm prepared to scour the earth for that mother f@cker."

    One thing I dont think a lot of people pick up on is that Pulp Fiction is a ode to food.
    We start in a diner and end in a diner. We talk about bacon. We have a conversation about McDonalds in Europe. We take a bite of a Big Kahuna Burger. We' go to Jack Rabit Slims and eat burgers, steaks and $5 shakes. We have a conversation about blueberry waffles. We drink gourmet coffee. A pop tart is what get's us killed. Vincent could sure go for some pancakes.

    Butch stole from Marcellus?

    • @Shan_Cox
      @Shan_Cox 4 месяца назад +4

      Kinda. He took the money to lose the fight. Then placed that money on bets that he would win the fight because the odds went thru the roof once word got out about the fight being fixed. That's why Marcellus wanted Butch. Marcellus lost alot of money on bets and the payoff money.

    If you think this is everything you should know, you missed the entire point of the movie. This hardly scratches the surface.
    Here's a few hints: it's about Heaven & Hell, good & evil (and "the gray area where most of us actually live"), and the idea that so much of our lives are the result of randomness and chance.
    PS - the gold watch represents Butch's soul, and the briefcase is NOT a MacGuffin-- QT has literally said that he knows what's in it, and anyone who actually pays *close* attention can actually figure it out, because it's actually extremely obvious once you see it. And no, it's NOT Marsellus Wallace's soul, the diamonds, or Elvis' suit. (QT does like the suit theory but confirmed that it's not.)
    Sorry, but this is a very poorly done video. The fact that you think you could explain everything in one 5:19 video is pretty arrogant. After seeing the video's length, I only clicked on this hoping it was a comedic style review. It was, but not in the way I had hoped.

      Then what was in the briefcase?

      @@therod486 Keep watching until you figure it out yourself. I've been watching it several times a year since it came out. That's how I figured it out. But all the clues are right there for anyone to see.

      Don't make things up, whatever we imagine can be inside the briefcase. Tarantino himself stated to fill the briefcase with your own imagination. So, no matter how many times you watch the movie, it won't provide a valid answer about what's inside the briefcase. For me personally, the briefcase contains gold, it's the simplest way for me to not worry that much about the case. But, I once thought that the case contained the "golden Bible", because people who saw the briefcase's contents got redemption (like Ringo and Jules) and decided to stop committing crimes. But it didn't happen with Vincent because he himself didn't believe in the Bible, and eventually that's what got him killed. Just like the "golden watch" owned by Butch, which became his moral compass all this time.

      @NE-lu7tn 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@neemoes Yeah... but you're wrong. Because "Tarantino himself" ALSO stated that he knew what was in there. Keep watching and keep looking for the clues. They're all there. There IS a definitive answer.

      @neemoes Also, that's a lazy way to look at it, saying "I choose to believe it's [X idea] because it's easier than solving the puzzle." Trust me-- if I told you, you'd smack yourself in the forehead, because once you see it, it's SOOO obvious in hindsight. Every single person I've told feels stupid after for not having seen it. Most people are looking way too hard. I don't dislike your Bible idea, but that's looking too hard. Trust me, there IS a definitive answer.
