    2:19 the earlier scene about the h3roin isn't just to say how powerful it is, but to explain why Mia mistakenly snorted h3roin instead of coke. When Vincent bought the h3roin, his dealer was out of balloons (which h3roin is typically sold in), so Vincent bought it in a baggie (which coke is typically sold in). And the movie already showed that Mia fancies herself some coke, so it's understandable that she'd snort some she finds in his jacket.

      Yup. I just didn’t want to get into the details and mention the drugs by name, because I am not sure what the algorithm punishes these days and as a very new channel with its first video, I didn’t want to take a chance and so I kept it vague

    I remember reading somewhere that the reason Vincent was rude to Butch at the beginning of the movie is because he knows Butch is there to get paid to take a dive and he considers that dishonourable. Then you get the close-up shot of Butch shocked at Vincent’s abrasiveness, and it gives him pause as to his actions, which is the first moment he questions whether or not to take a dive. Of course, this is just a theory.

    • @BigFilmRev
      @BigFilmRev  Год назад +4

      I think whether or not this makes Butch not take a dive is a fan theory, because it seems his plan was already made. But Vincent not respecting Butch for being “a palooka” is true, and Butch is also the one who keys Vincent’s car.

    • @davidortega3393
      @davidortega3393 Год назад

      @@BigFilmRev if Butch keyed Vincent’s car, that next level petty, considering Vincent didn’t drive his car the the bar that day (the whole Bonnie situation story line). That means Butch followed Vince around to find out what car was his before keying it. Unless after Vince and Jules were at the diner, they took a cab to Vince’s house to pick up his car before heading to the bar.

    • @Tycry
      @Tycry 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@davidortega3393It’s possible Vincent drove his car to Marcellus’s club, met Jules there, then rode with him to the apartments. I dunno how exactly, but Tarantino confirmed that Butch was the keyer in an interview somewhere.

    I agree with your analysis of Winston Wolf completely, but it perhaps justifies a deeper dive.
    1. Impeccably polite to Jimmie. It would be easier to simply kill Jimmie and Bonnie - and this was always an option - but he honestly appreciates who is doing whom a favor and acts accordingly.
    2. He does not back down from Vincent, but he also does not escalate, in spite of genuine provocation.
    3. Repays Jules and Vincent's respect with respect of his own.
    Verdict? You said it better than I could :)

    • @BigFilmRev
      @BigFilmRev  Год назад +2

      Definitely, a lot could be said about WW, but since I felt he didn't actually get a full "morality test" from Tarantino, I was better off skipping him altogether for this particular video.
      But he had to get an honorable mention.

      You know, you may be right, but I feel it’s up for interpretation, cause Marsellus had his own gun with him.

    I think Vincent dying on the toilet is a homage to Elvis (who supposedly died on the throne) since in the extra scene available on tape (and I guess on DVD), Mia tells him that there's two types of men, Elvis Men and Beatles men, and Vincent is obviously an Elvis man.

    Great video, man! Nicely and fittingly structured, too! I've always loved Pulp Fiction, but as I have grown older (more like completed my teenage years but still) the edgyness has become a bit overbearing in a handful of scenes. I would bet that even the edgelord king himself, Tarantino, would recognize some of this film's edgyness as immature. For me, it's at times cringe-inducing. Still, a more than good film. And again, great video. Would love to see more.

    Two things you are just WRONG about:
    1. The reason Mia OD'd is because she thought she was snorting coke. We've already seen her snort lines before she and Vincent went out, and when Vincent buys the heroin, Lance puts it in a baggie, because he's "all out of balloons." If the heroin had been in a balloon, Mia would have known not to snort it. Vincent SHOULD have made sure she didn't get ahold of his heroin supply, so he would definitely be morally (and of course legally) culpable if she had died.
    2. The heroin is also the reason that Vincent is always in the crapper. Heroin and opioids cause cause constipation. He spends so much time in the shitter (with a book) because he's having such a hard time getting his bowels to move.

  • @JJP316
    @JJP316 7 месяцев назад +1

    Vincent isn't on the toilet all the time because of his bad diet (even though that doesn't help).
    Long-time heroin users get chronic constipation.

    I know and I am completely aware of the fact this question might sound too stupid and the answer is so straightforward that it's futile to ask this question, but the name of your video gave me the idea of a very deep, profound and fundamental philosophical question. Excuse me if this sounds a little rude or stupid to think about it, but theoretically - Would Quentin Tarantino go to heaven or purgatory? I know I sound extremelly rude and judgemental and I want to say that I am deeply sorry about it. This is not a bias, nor nothing controversial, I am just genuinly asking and out of the curiosity. I almost feel like the worst criminal asking questions like that.
    But my personal answer is that I am very much struggling with that response, but I believe Quentin Tarantino would definitely go to heaven. He definitely and ultimately revolutionized the film, filmography, cinema, cinematography, motion pictures and therefore the entire medium. Everybody knows it regardless of how much (or if at all) anyone has watched his film.
    He hates the violence in the real life and it hasn't change through his entire life. And it will (surely) never change. He absolutely hates the violence from the frightening animals of different kind (maybe including humans) to the absolutely worst deed the one can cause to the other insect, animal and human being. He is very strict, honest, fair and permanent about it. And regardless of the fact I am an absolute film analphabet and illiterate person (I mean in general, not only in comparison with Quentin Tarantino himself) I really and extremelly appreciate that he is ,,not only" absolutely great in all these fields, spheres and realms, but he is in fact a truly, genuinely and honestly good person. It has always been extremely important for me that a genius should be a good person, not only being good in his (or her) fields. The more I find out and search that about Quentin Tarantino, the more I assure myself that he is the right, polar and exact opposite of anyone violent and evil even though he loves these themes and topics in the art.
    *I am sorry for the question again.*

    So true with Wolf, easy way out would be to kill all (4) of them and go for breakfast. However, they never tell you why Jimmie & Bonnie lived. Especially since now he has dirt on everyone involved, who says he would never talk ? The connection goes deeper than what was shown lol. Perhaps Wolf was told to do the most with minimal exposure possible? We do know
    Jules and Jimmy have a past connection with this kind of stuff lol. Kept alive knowing how useful he is for other situations similar to this. A 2.5 car garage is very useful for a lot of things that need to be done hush hush 🤫. Knowing this guy has a solid work history plus a family, they know he will always keep quiet 🤐 about past , present and future favors that always come up. That’s an interesting fan theory, but a theory nonetheless. Besides, it doesn’t negate the themes of redemption and the way QT writes his characters and “tests” them within the story, so our take and that fan theory are not mutually exclusive.
