Why Netflix Cut the Best Scene in Community
Просмотров 3,1 тыс.Месяц назад
One of the best scenes in the show Community is in the pilot episode, when Jeff Winger, played by Joel McHale, talks to Troy Donald Glover about his letter jacket. This was the joke that made me love the show when I first watched it, so I was very surprised to see it got cut by Netflix. But why did they delete it? • Instagram - BigFilmRev • TikTok - www.tiktok.com/@BigFilmRev • Fa...

To The Lake is a Russian show from Netflix that was filmed in early 2019, a full year before the actual pandemic happened. But we found it, saw it, and are talking about it with no spoilers! 00:00 - Intro 01:18 ...

Pulp Fiction is Tarantino's Purgatory | ESSAY
Of course die hard. This year, I only saw it on Dec 27 instead of Christmas or Christmas Eve.
When i log in Netflix i always check season 2 😢, also into the night series
Dude, you are so wrong on all of this!😂
this commentary video is worthless
Yeah, well, that's like your opinion, man!
Ahead of its time! It just was!
George is getting upset!
them: "did you get the joke" me: "yes I know who ron howard is" them: "of course you didnt"
the show is even better than i remember
the ultimate relationship test : if she doesn't laugh, she's not the good one
Apart from Jerry Seinfeld himself, whose acting was truly terrible; it was good, yeah.
Did any one NOT get the "Opie" reference?? This video trying to explain a joke is painful.
So no, despite it's popularity, you do not need to do a video when something "goes bad". Buck the trend and do better.
You know a joke isn't great, when it needs explaining... it is terrible if it takes 5 minutes explainer.
I'm a huge Seinfeld but those last two seasons are difficult to watch. Same for The Big Bang Theory it lasted a couple of seasons too long.
I was born in 1983 and this was not subtle at all. It was very out of character for Ron Howard's narration, so it was obvious that he took personal offense to the name-drop of Opie.
It's better
There has never been less need for a video than this one.
Americans are absolutely terrible at being subtle about anything. Most of all where comedy is concerned...
Afternoon delight is my favorite joke.
Below
Also your voice is awful to listen to
Nothing subtle about it and I got it the first time.
This falls under click bait in terms of the title. There were so many clever and subtle jokes slipped in. That was just one of many.
its 2025
One of the most subtle running gags in the show is that Tobias is actually a light-skinned black man. They never actually mention it or pay it off, there are just a lot of sneaky references to it.
It doesnt make sense because why would the front man originally been put into the games in 2015
Why would the old man let his son enter as a normal competitor? There are a lot of people who dont drink milk i dont know if its smart to jump at every clue😂
The old man is dead. He hasn’t really entered the competition he was just pretending to be a contestant and was never actually in any danger. Although anyone can say they don’t like milk they tend to put dialogue like that in shows to create subtle hints to the audience so its not far fetched
@JBQ_YT i obviously meant the last time the frontman was inside not now, But yea i guess we can jump to assumptions then because they both don't drink milk...😅
@@JBQ_YTNo... He has a point. 001 (the front man) is also a former winner too.
Many people in korea are lactose-intolorent so...
time for a rewatch again I guess...
Or it’s just because Asians don’t process dairy as well as most other races.
Jerry stiller bound that show together like glue I don’t think people understand that
I only ever laughed ONCE watching Seinfeld: The sewing machine/paint remover/mail truck fire scene.
Imagine thinking Community's golden era is when it went downhill! 😂
The premise seems to be that being more realistic makes Seinfeld better. Nah. Funny is funny. They were really clicking up until almost the very end. The last few eps are admittedly a bit weak. But peaked at S5? No way.
I dont understand what happened with the characters from season 1? They will survive from the asian military attack? Only Ania died in the explosion? Thank you!
That was exactly what I was thinking
The more this vid goes on the more I get the joke. I love Arrested Development! the Layers of 4D jokes in this show always puts a smile on my face! Edit: And to be clear Ive watched the original run of the show 13+ times and still havent got all the underlying jokes. (like this one)
For those who arent sure why The Andy Grifith series was so popular, go look up all the other shows running at that exact time. It really was the best thing on television.
No same person. Licks envelopes did they never hear of a sponge sitting in a small bit of water?
In the terrible Bee movie made by Seinfeld he was given a jacket and I was hoping he would say I got to do something about the lining. It was a huge missed opportunity. He mentioned that the sleeves were too long. If he had mentioned I got to do something about the lining. It would have been a great nod to all of his fans because in the episode we saw the clip of they kept saying I got to do something about the lineing of that expensive jacket
Subtle is not the same thing as obscure. This reference was obscure.
Are you about to explain that Richie Cunningham (the narrator on Arrested Development) played Opie Taylor? Jee-sus, you'd better have a little more to explain than that.
Disagree. The last seasons were better.
honestly i didn't think it was that great when it was in first run either.
True but the cop is the brother of the frontman and the cop would ask hey dad where have you been
They don’t have the same father
@ there brothers it’s cannon in the show
It’s revealed in season 2 that they’re step brothers.
I just searched it up on google it says there step brothers
There you go 😆
Do you get the significance of Rebel Alley naming her son "Lem"? Now THAT is a subtle joke...
Nice try, but this is the 3rd most subtle TV joke of all time. The 1st and 2nd most subtle TV jokes of all time were so subtle they slipped past even the nerdiest of TV fans.
Watch this video at double speed with subtitles and no sound.
Just because it's an obscure reference doesn't make it a good joke. The punchline is: reference. The joke is: reference. But no, we'll just believe this lady watched Andy Griffith Show and Happy Days and she referenced them for the sake of referencing them which is actually peak comedy which must be explained in-depth and in nauseating detail.
If by subtle you mean unintelligible without knowing the obscure context, yeah, that's it. And even knowing what's funny about it, it not that good.
