I love it when using peirce ammo the monster dies from a hit after the shot enters its body. Thats just really cool to me and so exciting when you win like that.

Just did the g rank 2 tigrex hunt in the desert with focus, art of unsheathing great sword, took about 47 mins but I got 3 heavenly scales still wouldn’t recommend this to anyone :(

This was my "wall" when I first played this game on PSP as a teenager. Didn't help that I was a Greatsword-only main at the time, lol. 😅 Flash Bombs, Traps and the Combo Books are godlike in Gens 1 and 2. I was able to beat the quest by spamming those tools. lmao 😂 Any dual-monster quest is a nightmare. I actually find the Rathalos+Rathian quest significantly easier than this one because Rathian only has 1 homing move (tackle), whereas Rathalos has 3 (tackle, air fireball and poison claw), so I can always focus on killing the Rathalos first and just listen for the Rathian tackle audio cue to dodge when necessary. Dual Tigrex is a complete nightmare because almost all of their moves are homing, the arenas are small, and they often overlap because they mostly stick to the mountain zones. 😢 Dual Black Gravios, Dual Black Diablos and Dual Rajang have to be the absolute worst, though. 🤣

Time to learn how to use LBG properly I guess... But before that I have to farm high rank Gravios and that fight is annoying. This Gravios have this sweep fire beam and it hurts A LOT and also a very annoying Iodrome and Iopreys but I managed to beat Gravios using Daimyo Warbow IV, sleep bombing/paralysis bombing and capture him when he's weak enough
Yeah, if you really want to, the Great Crossbow Gun can work in place of the Titan Launcher+ I didn't think about how easy it would be to get like I normally do, since I had the parts already >.< But I *think* the same strategy would work... LBG isn't too bad, main thing is making sure to not be too far away and avoiding damage as much as you can, and re learn the hitzones, you probably want to aim in different places to do more damage with ranged attacks.

Well, there are many different items in the game. I've been meaning to make a video on how/where to get materials for specific equipment like sonic bombs (hunt velocidrome, dual velocidrome if you have it, to get screamers, then combine nitroshroom and fire herb to make gunpowder, then combine those two.) and flash bombs (you can get flash bugs from the farm) but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
U making this HR*9 looks easy lol. I'm having hard time fighting 2 tigrex with LS. Few fail and it seems indeed that LBG is the right wpn for this quest
You make bowgun look fun and easy, but I could never get a feel for these weapons. Another point I dislike is that (it seems, at least) that you need mixed sets to make the most out of them, and mixed sets is something i really don't like. In GU you have transmog which alleviates this some, but even so it's absurdly difficult to achieve.
Haha, it took me a long while to get bowguns and bows to work for me tbh, it just didn't feel like I was doing anything with them. I really feel like understanding a little about the damage calculation and hitzones and bow/bowgun mechanics helps a lot in knowing whether or not I'm actually doing anything. Mixed sets can be pretty cool, but they can look goofy too, you don't necessarily need a mixed set for bows and bowguns, I just usually do for one reason or another. I like transmog/layered armor, but I also don't, because it gives us possibly more control over our look, but it wouldn't stop everyone from using the same armor, and what gear people choose to equip gets lost. It could be cool to have an option to just turn layered armor off for everyone, so we can see what equipment they're wearing. Best of both worlds.
@@HeadHunter455 I agree. Honestly even all pieces could at least be color matched properly, it would go a long way in homogenizing the visuals without hiding actual gear information.
@@bloodykenshiro8218 Even mixing Gravios D with Battle (my hbg set, some jewels give me guard inc + reload + 20 defense), which I had thought until the last moment might look good together, just looks kinda weird with the blue undershirt *and* vibrant red vest. If only pigments were available in low rank, and/or changed more about the armour's appearance - Destiny shaders maybe?

lol, the damage monsters do to each other is really low in the old games, as far as I'm aware. At least small monsters? A velociprey could take like 30 fireballs before it dies or something stupid like that. This quest is rough though 😓😓😓

But what I noticed is move like tigrex charge which had large hitbox and continuous damage ( if the target is cornered) would do pretty much damage. I only use this to advantage when fighting two tigrex in area 8, imma hide in the holes to the khezu whelps until one of them leaves :) Can hear them kept getting into rage mode when charging each other :)

I did this quest not too long ago in the gathering hall to get to HR6 ( I’m G rank now yay ) with my friend and it was painful, like really hard... Then I did the village one and it was so easy compared to the hunter’s hub one... i truly don’t get the difficulty scale of this game
HeadHunter455 I would argue they’re more than "a bit" easier, I’ve played other monster hunter games before ( 3U, 4U and GU ) and yes multiplayer monsters are always a bit more tanky, but I usually have no problem soloing them, here though, the multiplayer quests are such a step up that even playing with two players sometimes takes more time than the village quests...
@@lightbrand_ I could be wrong, but I think Gathering Hall quests have a x3 or x4 monster HP multiplier, even if you are playing solo. I honestly dislike that, because it makes fights painfully long and force you to play recklessly to beat the clock. 😅

@@HeadHunter455 i am using longsword (because of course i am) with flash bombs, bombs and traps, yet one or the other thing happens. 1. I don't spawn in either camp or area 1 so i can't use traps. 2. I can't quite get the timing right to always get the Tigrex confused.
I *think* the only armors with bullet limit (without decorations) are Velociprey Armor (low rank) Leather S Armor (high rank) Blango X Armor (G rank) Might be some others but that's all I see with a quick search. The reason I use the Armory jewels a bunch is because I like the skill a lot and they're one of the only decorations that cost 1 slot but give 2 skill points, there are a few like that, like the Grinder Jewel for Speed Sharpening, I use them in my Shen Gaoren and Lao-Shan videos. The reason it's so useful is that if you have ~5 free slots, you can get these skills, whereas you'd normally need ~10 slots, which is usually too much to ask for one skill. If you meant Auto-Reload (Death stench doesn't have bullet limit) there's Death Stench S (High Rank) Dragon S armor (High rank) Blango Z armor (G rank)
my decent gunner armor rghtnow is the death stench and im using lunastra canon it has the bullet limit and auto reload which is so good but its -20 health do you know any gunner armor that has bullet limit and auto reload at the same time but doesnt have -health

Quick answer: demon drugs wont do anything for me Longer answer: I ate in the kitchen, demon drugs do not stack with kitchen buffs, and there's no reason to use more than one since they wont stack with themselves and only last until the end of the quest or if you cart. Power seeds stack with everything except power pills, and last 3 minutes.

If you want to use LS, then True Devil Slicer and the Ceanataur S armor will be fine. Tigrex is really rough, that's why I recommended what I did for this quest. If I had more time, I'd try and cover more weapons and armors, but as it is, I'm recommending mostly easily obtainable equipment (there's usually better gear, it's just harder/more anoying to get) that is still effective. There are 11 weapon types in MHFU, I can't cover all of them for every quest...

I dunno if you can actually get it from gravios/basarios. I usually just go for Ceanataur anyways.
1) elemental shots exept fire have piercing mechanic. So... You better aim body 2) piercie lvl 1 probably deal more damage on medium+ monsters than any element shot

Smol tip - If a ledge/cliff is not high enough to make you "stumble" when landing naturally you can stop running right before you fall down it to stop it from playing the "stumble" animation from running off of smaller ledges/cliffs. Its not much but it will make traversal in some areas a little faster.

Without going to the gathering hall, and not including LBG/HBG/Bow the strongest weapons, according to gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/57283 are Dual Tomahawk (Dual Swords) Ravager Blade (Greatsword) Iron Katana "Gospel" (Longsword) Iron Striker (Hammer) Those all have a raw of 120, which is the highest. Others have 110, 100, etc Hunting horn and bow have the lowest at 80 with the Giaprey Balloon and Blango Fur Bow I. You could probably make the bone armor set, I'm pretty sure it's obtainable in 1* and it has pretty decent armor. You're obviously not going to get any good armor skills this early on. Could maybe get armor spheres and upgrade it too, there are no gathering quests in 1*, but you can just take the quests that have you gathering instead, like the deliver 5 mountain herbs one. If you go to the gathering hall, you could farm out some better gear, but that's kinda going against the whole challenge thing, innit. Bring lots of Whetstones.

Using db is pain when you flash him, you literally just stand there without able to deal any damage lol, its waaay too risky unless hes taunting.

I've been meaning to make a video on how/where to get materials for specific equipment like sonic bombs (hunt velocidrome, dual velocidrome if you have it, to get screamers, then combine nitroshroom and fire herb to make gunpowder, then combine those two.) and flash bombs (you can get flash bugs from the farm) but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
U making this HR*9 looks easy lol. I'm having hard time fighting 2 tigrex with LS. Few fail and it seems indeed that LBG is the right wpn for this quest

Of all the monsters in this game, Tigrex is my top 3 most hated monster to hunt. Most is Plesi, and then Rajang.

You make bowgun look fun and easy, but I could never get a feel for these weapons. Another point I dislike is that (it seems, at least) that you need mixed sets to make the most out of them, and mixed sets is something i really don't like. In GU you have transmog which alleviates this some, but even so it's absurdly difficult to achieve.
Haha, it took me a long while to get bowguns and bows to work for me tbh, it just didn't feel like I was doing anything with them. I really feel like understanding a little about the damage calculation and hitzones and bow/bowgun mechanics helps a lot in knowing whether or not I'm actually doing anything.
Mixed sets can be pretty cool, but they can look goofy too, you don't necessarily need a mixed set for bows and bowguns, I just usually do for one reason or another. I like transmog/layered armor, but I also don't, because it gives us possibly more control over our look, but it wouldn't stop everyone from using the same armor, and what gear people choose to equip gets lost. It could be cool to have an option to just turn layered armor off for everyone, so we can see what equipment they're wearing. Best of both worlds.
@@HeadHunter455 I agree. Honestly even all pieces could at least be color matched properly, it would go a long way in homogenizing the visuals without hiding actual gear information.
@@bloodykenshiro8218 Even mixing Gravios D with Battle (my hbg set, some jewels give me guard inc + reload + 20 defense), which I had thought until the last moment might look good together, just looks kinda weird with the blue undershirt *and* vibrant red vest. If only pigments were available in low rank, and/or changed more about the armour's appearance - Destiny shaders maybe?
@@Derpy-qg9hn it is the lack of good color/tone matching that bothers me the most honestly,, do if you could really set the whole armor with an RGB scale rather then just coloring useless stuff like sashes, that would be great.

@@HeadHunter455 yeah its true, even vespoid can tank several shots of fireballs hahaha. But what I noticed is move like tigrex charge which had large hitbox and continuous damage ( if the target is cornered) would do pretty much damage. I only use this to advantage when fighting two tigrex in area 8, imma hide in the holes to the khezu whelps until one of them leaves :)

I did this quest not too long ago in the gathering hall to get to HR6 ( I’m G rank now yay ) with my friend and it was painful, like really hard...
Then I did the village one and it was so easy compared to the hunter’s hub one... i truly don’t get the difficulty scale of this game
The gathering hall is meant for multiplayer, you can't get help for the singleplayer ones, so they're a bit easier.
HeadHunter455 I would argue they’re more than "a bit" easier, I’ve played other monster hunter games before ( 3U, 4U and GU ) and yes multiplayer monsters are always a bit more tanky, but I usually have no problem soloing them, here though, the multiplayer quests are such a step up that even playing with two players sometimes takes more time than the village quests...
@@lightbrand_ I could be wrong, but I think Gathering Hall quests have a x3 or x4 monster HP multiplier, even if you are playing solo.
I honestly dislike that, because it makes fights painfully long and force you to play recklessly to beat the clock. 😅

You can craft it from high rank Gravios and Basarios parts.
You can craft jewels from the armory guy, the armory jewels are easy enough to make, you just need bullets, the attack jewel is also relatively easy to make.

@@HeadHunter455 i am using longsword (because of course i am) with flash bombs, bombs and traps, yet one or the other thing happens.
1. I don't spawn in either camp or area 1 so i can't use traps.
2. I can't quite get the timing right to always get the Tigrex confused.
btw is their anymore good gunner armour that has bullet limit just like death stench
I *think* the only armors with bullet limit (without decorations) are
Velociprey Armor (low rank)
Leather S Armor (high rank)
Blango X Armor (G rank)
Might be some others but that's all I see with a quick search.
The reason I use the Armory jewels a bunch is because I like the skill a lot and they're one of the only decorations that cost 1 slot but give 2 skill points, there are a few like that, like the Grinder Jewel for Speed Sharpening, I use them in my Shen Gaoren and Lao-Shan videos.
The reason it's so useful is that if you have ~5 free slots, you can get these skills, whereas you'd normally need ~10 slots, which is usually too much to ask for one skill.

question:. why do you use power seeds instead of demon drugs
Quick answer: demon drugs wont do anything for me
Longer answer: I ate in the kitchen, demon drugs do not stack with kitchen buffs, and there's no reason to use more than one since they wont stack with themselves and only last until the end of the quest or if you cart.
Power seeds stack with everything except power pills, and last 3 minutes.

If you want to use LS, then True Devil Slicer and the Ceanataur S armor will be fine.
Tigrex is really rough, that's why I recommended what I did for this quest.
If I had more time, I'd try and cover more weapons and armors, but as it is, I'm recommending mostly easily obtainable equipment (there's usually better gear, it's just harder/more anoying to get) that is still effective.
There are 11 weapon types in MHFU, I can't cover all of them for every quest...

I'm assuming you mean like what platform, I'm on PC playing through PPSSPP.
Smol tip - If a ledge/cliff is not high enough to make you "stumble" when landing naturally you can stop running right before you fall down it to stop it from playing the "stumble" animation from running off of smaller ledges/cliffs. Its not much but it will make traversal in some areas a little faster.

Without going to the gathering hall, and not including LBG/HBG/Bow the strongest weapons, according to gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/57283 are
Dual Tomahawk (Dual Swords)
Ravager Blade (Greatsword)
Iron Katana "Gospel" (Longsword)
Iron Striker (Hammer)
Those all have a raw of 120, which is the highest.
Others have 110, 100, etc
Hunting horn and bow have the lowest at 80 with the Giaprey Balloon and Blango Fur Bow I.
You could probably make the bone armor set, I'm pretty sure it's obtainable in 1* and it has pretty decent armor. You're obviously not going to get any good armor skills this early on.
Could maybe get armor spheres and upgrade it too, there are no gathering quests in 1*, but you can just take the quests that have you gathering instead, like the deliver 5 mountain herbs one.
If you go to the gathering hall, you could farm out some better gear, but that's kinda going against the whole challenge thing, innit. Bring lots of Whetstones.
