You should try a UK toastie maker. It seals the edges so the cheese can’t get out. You can also use loads of different fillings - my sister always used to fill hers with beaten egg and cheese so she got gooey scrambled eggs sealed inside toast. I used to fill mine with ham, leftover chicken and tomato sauce. My brother used to do Nutella, honey and banana. So good. Excuse me, I need to go make a toastie!
That thing is literally my childhood. My siblings and I would use it almost every day. Now that I moved I'm starting to miss it so badly.

If i would to redesign it, i would make it laying down instead of side ways, so when the cheese would melt it wouldn’t leak out, or even better, at the bottom of this original machine, have a ‘’cheese catcher’’ that would slide out after pressing it.
Then it’s just a mini grill

I like to use either a pan or panini press. Easy to cook with and to clean after u're done. That "toaster" just seems a bit too much for me

Haha I'm pretty sure it's a crumb tray on the bottom and not really meant for cheese bc all my toasters have had a crumb tray that slid out on the bottom for easier cleaning.
This seems cute but I don't think I'd ever want it. I've wondered about these toaster sleeves I've heard of though. Like a pouch to put the bread and cheese in and slide it into a normal toaster.

I got one and loved it, but ended up giving it to my sister so her kids and the grandkids could use it. They use it frequently and really like it.
I just bought it mine came a little burnt but I can't really taste it and I did use it completely wrong which explains why my turn out the way it did because of this video I can properly use it and I absolutely love it melty crispy anyway thanks for showing me how to properly use it totally gonna buy this for the family for Christmas

My dad makes grilled cheese with turkey or ham. Those days before payday and use up the rest of whatever cheese and meat we have. Even to this day I’ll crave those nostalgia sandwiches

A better version of this ,would be to make one of these tosters, as if it was laying on its side , so you won't loose all its cheese in it. The design is pretty juvenile . You think they would of known all the cheese would slide off the sandwich using it they way they intended everyone too.

$5 frying pan will make a better sandwich without all the bullshit
Save your money. There are many sandwich makers on the market that blow this junk out of the water. An example would be the many available Panini Press Grills. Has ability to open 180 degrees so can toast any thickness of sandwich. Has Teflon coated trays for quick and easy cleanup and since it's designed to be used horizontal, you don't have to worry about contents leaking out.

I think I'll stick to pan frying my grilled cheeses. Covering it up with a lid helps melt the cheese better.

All my fears for this thing were confirmed by that huge glob of cheese that immediately fell out when she removed the sandwich. When I make a grilled cheese sandwich, I want the cheese to remain in the sandwich. Not in a pile on my cutting board. You just can't make a grilled cheese sandwich in a vertical device. Gravity is real.

That's a standard part of any toaster. It's called a "Crumb Catcher" which it sort of does but they're often not deep, wide OR long enough so are a bit useless really. Plus, buy a pack of toaster bags, cheaper than that kitchen monstrosity and will keep the cheese at least somewhere near the bread ax it melts. Mind You, that individually wrapped sliced stuff is Laboratory created Franken-cheese isn't it? Does it ever melt?
