    Great video!!! I loved it and 3801 is my favourite steam locomotive! “The Legend of Steam” I loved this song too as well as “run to paradise”

      Thanks! 3801 is everyone's favourite steam locomotive, you know!
      While "run to paradise' is good I decided this would be more fitting

    Just an update as of November 2018:
    Following the successful fitting of the inner firebox to the boiler in October, the contractor at Goulburn has now reached a detailed stage involving fitting of remaining parts to complete the boiler’s repair.

    The team are currently reaming and tapping the outer firebox holes of the boiler, including riveting the foundation ring, mounting the smokebox tubeplate and completing the firehole door.

    Meanwhile at Chullora, worn axle boxes are being built up for the tender and two new axles are currently being manufactured. Machining of all new collars has commenced for the bearings, which are being replaced as previously reported.

    Work to fit the ICE radio onto the tender has also begun.

    Once hydrostatic testing of the boiler is completed, THNSW will be in a position to announce when steam trials may begin.

    I would have to say that 3801 used to be Australia's Famous Loco, but has been put in second position by SAR520, Sir Malcolm Barclay-Harvey or as most people now know it as Shane on Thomas.

    3801 is a true legand

  • @microbusss
    @microbusss 5 лет назад

    is it a Standard Gauge loco?
    Cause I know some railways used a wider gauge in AU

    • @sydneyrailbuff
      @sydneyrailbuff  5 лет назад

      Yes, it's standard guage, which is used universally across the state of New South Wales. You can find broad guage in Victoria and South Australia and narrow guage in Western Australia, Queensland and Tasmania.

    Idea: Change the font and colour of the text to look more professional. Everyone recognises those cheap iMovie title cards. It's just lazy editing :)
