Marcin Patrzałek is amazing, I think you would love his mini-cover of "Just the two of us", played in duet with Ichika Nito - a Japanese guitarist (which doesn't really make it very Polish but Marcin is awesome all the same).
I recommend Hard Times - a bit niche but with many original songs. They also excel with their guitar play! I love their "Czarny Marcin" and "Szanta o tonącej głowie"
"And new moms" lol the translation. FYI: "I ludzi nowych mam" means "I have new people". Although it's tricky couse "mam" can mean both "I have" and "(those) moms"

Yes, this text may lose a lot of it's context in translation, since most of it is a reference to classic quotes we learn in school. But they are not translated accordingly to their English versions.
For example, carpe diem (seize the day) is challenged by “I don't want to seize the day, because I have weeks in hand.”
Then we have: I don't want to “go against the wind” which means “being against the mainstream,” and then the famous motivational quote [per aspera] ad aspera challenged with “I don't want to go run to the stars, let them come to me.” So the whole piece is basically a dialogue with this compilation of sentences, but it makes sense on its own as (another) approach to life.
Męskie Granie is our national pride, I think. You should also listen to "Supermoce" - "Superpowers". Another song of theirs. Męskie Granie is not a music band. It's a group or project that aims to create interesting songs like this one and connect different artists with each other.

This translation is quite shitty 😅 but anyway, this song is epic! And the fact that they made this video in one shot while playing and singing live makes it even more terrific!
This guy with guitar is Krzysztof Zalewski - he also performs solo acts with looping instruments etc. The one with mustache is Dawid Podsiadło - the most popular singer of contemporary Polish music. And the guy on the piano is Kortez - he creates very melancholic, atmospheric music, so this song must have been an artistic madness for him 😜
I doubt they really made this video in one shot. There are ways to connect various takes seamlessly.

WOW! I can't believe this song is already 6 years old! IMO its the best Męskie Granie original promo song so far. The colab between the three so different artists came out amazing.
Masculine Music (Męskie Granie) is a project by the Żywiec Brewery. Every year a group of singers come together to compose one original song and play covers of chosen old hits. "Początek" was that one song composed for 2018 edition. Each of the collaborating vocalists is a famous singer in his/her own right, so yes, they all can sing and each has their own music style which makes the songs more dynamic. Some singers come repeatedly some don't. The covers are brilliant too, and there are often additional guests invited to sing them, including the original performers. My fav covers from 2023 are "Wymyśliłem Ciebie" and "Refren trochę jak Lana Del Rey". But the last year's original song "Supermoce" was very good as well.
Check out the fiery guitarist, Marcin Patrzałek. As an instrumentalist, you can appreciate his music more than a random person.

The main vocalist is Dawid Podsiadło, and he also made a song "Let You Down" in th official Cyberpunk Speedrunners show on Netflix
Both Zalewski and Kortez sing in this song much more than Podsiadło

Great reaction! 🙂I think that a foreigner's point of view on Polish songs is interesting. It shows whether they could cope on the international arena. The text is important for local people, in the world it is mainly the melody, arrangement and voice that sounds.

I can recommend "Czarny Chleb i Czarna Kawa" by Strachy na Lachy or "Jesień - Tańcuj" by L.U.C. from the movie "Chłopi" if you prefer something new.
Jesień - Tańcuj" by L.U.C is amazing. The movie looks like animation but in fact, it was first shot as normal movie, and then each frame separately was painted on canvas, scanned and played to look like an animation.

I wanted to recommend listening to a song by Elektryczne Gitary. It is also rock, but more dynamic and happy, although it always depends on the song, you know. I love the song "Dywizjon 303" which would also fit your last videos about polish history, but it is not the most popular one.

You should check Męskie Granie - Elektryczny ;) or even better, as someone else suggested - check out all so called „anthems” of Męskie Granie from years 2010-2024 (imho best era was 2014-2023). Because each year they invite different set of artists, it really is versatile and interesting project.

Męskie granie 2018 is the best thing that happened in Polish music and if it is not 10/10 I don't know what is. What could be better here? Whole clip in one take, great vibe, great vocals. I guess one needs to be a native to fully feel it together with lyrics so maybe there is this missing 0.5

Legendy Polskie." :D "Męskie granie" is deeeep and awesome rabbit hole tbh you should check more. Its kind of project where they get to collab artists from various genres. Its like every year they make a pool of artist and mix them in numerous combinations but usually one song is limited to few from the pool.

Hey. I think you should check out some old records of 'Męskie Granie' imho they were better earlier... If I should recomend you something I think you should try 'Elektryczny' or some live performances but little older than this song. It is my opinion and my taste of music but I think earlier songs and shows was better. Take care!
