As an autistic person, autism is very much a disability. Yes, our minds work differently. However, saying it isn’t a disability completely ignores the many struggles we face. This video makes it out as if autism is some kind super power. It isn’t. It comes with advantages AND disadvantages. Putting unrealistic expectations and pressure on autistic people to be good at everything isn’t a good message.

My best friend is autistic. We've been friends since second grade and now we're in high school. He is literally the nicest person I've ever met, and it breaks my heart when he tells a story about someone who was mean to him. But at school, literally, no one sees him as an autistic kid. Everyone is so nice to him.

My older brother has autism and he is the sweetest and smartest person that you could possibly ever meet. Sometimes he does things differently but he is really good with programing and coding. When I'm sad he is always there to comfort me and sometimes he draws me pictures to cheer me up. I love him so much and I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world 😭💞

As a person with High Functioning Autism, thank you for posting this. People don’t realize, we aren’t stupid. We just learn differently and absorb it until we analyze it to perfection, that’s why, Autistic people can become a genius when it comes to something or really like something.
