- I took this clip from a live-performance video recording that Ordinance did a few months back. We filmed a couple songs from "Internal Monologues" and got something like 50 camera angles.
As I continue to edit the footage for the full group videos, I thought I'd upload this 'drum only' video for one of the songs.
I had no intention of doing another video of just me for this song (since I did one a couple years ago). However, this shot came out pretty sweet. I decided I'd put it up and delete the original video I did for it. I think my execution in this video represents the song better anyway.
Mixing was done by Dustin Miller (Audio Aggregate Recordings). Dustin does great work and I'll be doing a lot more with him in the future!

I don't have a transcription for this song. Greg and I wrote it when I was like, 16 - before I started notating. Haha.
Tempo is 140 BPM
There's a mistake at 3:04. I meant to hit the hi-hat simultaneously with the snare but missed. I'll let that one slide...

What I love about his setup is how none of it is superfluous - it's all there to provide symmetry and allow him to play with one side exactly what he can with the other and so further his overall skill around the kit, rather than a massive array of cymbals and drums that are only there because they can be and get used once in a blue moon.
It's a Meinl 22" MB20 Heavy Bell Ride. That thing rules... By far one of my favorite cymbals. I definitely recommend it!!

Exactly! and not to mention that he's most likely busy counting and making sure that he executes all of the more advanced parts (both mentally and physically) I'm sure that in a live setting he can incorporate more show or "feeling" into it.

Wait, you're AMBIDEXTROUS?! The level of talent you posses as a drummer in general is insane. I'm not a drummer, although I really want to learn how to play, but as someone who sees live drummers often and has at least one good friend who has been drumming forever (and having seen several drummers on RUclips), I can see that you are far above the skill level of a lot of people out there. From one aspiring musician to an actual musician, you are incredible at what you do.

It took a bit of getting used to, but it's not an issue for me anymore. It's much easier to mic the snare that way so I don't really mind it! And thank you!

totally agree, some people seem that playing jazz drums is the only thing with feel, while that style definatley does have some feel to it, when you're playing in a metal band, especially live, i'm FEELING the adrenaline and bashin them skins.
