The tip about roasting the turkey in parts is actually genius. Everything can come out when it's ready instead of sacrificing the breast meat to the thigh meat!! Amazing 🤯
I actually love the idea of someone bringing a serving platter for the host to borrow! Never would have thought about that (and then once the meal's done, you can wash it and send it home with a nice little Thank You card!). And I LOVE that roasted veggie platter- we're keeping things simple this year and I just know I'd be getting a BUNCH of lunches for work out of those roasted veggies! :)
I totally agree about making your own traditions! My favorite example: once I started hosting, I started making the cranberry sauce the way *I* liked it. Same recipe as what my mom uses, but I like it chunky. :-)
The pressed leaves idea is brilliant! Our family thanksgiving moved a few hundred miles apart. Gonna bring some pressed leaves from "back home" to the holidays in the new place!!
So many great tips! I've cooked my turkey in parts for two years in a row now and I'm not going back. It's just so much easier to deal with in every step with dry brining, cooking, and serving. Also I love the anchovies in the gravy! I usually end up using fish sauce because if I got caught putting anchovies in, they'd throw a fit. 😂
I've used Melissa's "Simple Roast Turkey" recipe for years and so this feels like the next evolution - how to simply zhuzh up your simple roast turkey.
I remember one Thanksgiving, when there wasn’t a single beige food item on the table! If you put cherries along the whole length of one of those really big teriyaki skewers, you’ll have what I call, a Manhattan High Rise! I love how your hair matches your turkey!
Love the suggestions. I am Canadian, so we have already done Thanksgiving, but I may try to add a few hints to the Christmas dinner I do for our curling club, just a few as it will likely be for about 70 people and I have food intolerances to deal with - gluten & dairy. We will see what I come up with😂😂
Gonna need a couple extra ovens. Pomegranate seeds are like eating olive pits - I don’t understand - if gramma breaks a tooth you will never hear the end of it.
Your cooking skills are seriously impressive! 🍳🔥I love thanksgiving day for turkey for sure. We've also started a channel (Hipster-Comicures), introducing handy gadgets perfect for kitchen and home cooks in a humorous style. L👀k it up! Keep up the amazing work!
The OG NYT RUclipsr is back all hail the queen
I love watching Melissa Clark videos because she talks to you like a helpful friend, making sure you are on the right track. Happy holidays!
Yes… she FEELS like a “normal” home cook too because she talks to us like we’re a friend she’s teaching her recipe to
this format is an interesting callback to older editing styles! love it

I like the pressed leaves used to decorate the table.
More Melissa Clark please! As much as I’m loving all the other content, Melissa always reminds me why I love cooking
I so love Melissa - her recipes work and are always delicious. She is a great teacher and such a sweet, relatable person. She is the best!

Melissa Clark is a national treasure
I think everyone needs a Melissa in their life.

This is super, super helpful! I've been doing Thanksgiving for a huge family for years and am going to use these tips, particularly the garnishes!
Gravy Master…..my Mom used it all the time. Made her gravies and sauces so rich and eye appealing.
Melissa is definitely one of my favorites.
This totally put me in a Thanksgiving mood - Melissa is awesome!
I loved the tip about adding different assorted things to the turkey tray. Looks so beautiful and old fashioned. Very Victorian. Loved it!
This is a lovely Thanksgiving special... Melissa brings such joy and enthusiasm to her table. I watched it twice, smiling the whole time...
I love Melissa! Will definitely make her pecan pie this holiday season:)
Thanks Melissa! So fun to watch , great tips! Regards from Barcelona
Really helpful. Not fussy, just delicious
Yes to everything Melissa Clark!

Melissa is so engaging!

I actually do have a kitchen ladder. When you're 5' tall, your choice is a ladder or giving up the space in your upper cabinets.
What an expert you are. Thank you.

I love watching her too and she is funny !🐸
Fun to Watch, Melissa Clark is top Tier.
I love adding Grand Marnier Liquor to my cranberry sauce. Absolutely decadent. Melissa thank you for posting a great video. Happy Thanksgiving ♥️
Awesome thanks so many great ideas
I missed Melissa at home!
Excellent and welcoming video.
Love this! Great tips!
This is, hands down, the best video for the holiday.
You're fabulous, Melissa Clark!
My thanks for such a lovely presentation - helpful and down to earth advice! Happy Thanksgiving to all!
I'm not coming unless there is green bean casserole 😅 good thing I'm hosting.

Nice!
Oh, that platter of roasted veg!
I want Melissa Clark to teach me how to live
I NEEEED to know where that green serving dish is from
If you find the answer, please post it. I'm looking for it, too.
Brilliant!
Is there an application form I can fill out to be a part of your family? What a beautiful feast!

No to the yuck on cheese in stuffing!
I'd love to make that mac and cheese, but the link doesn't take me to the recipe that has the cheese-itz topping.

hi divas
❤❤❤🇺🇸
What time should we be at your place on T-Day? 😊
I love Melissa Clark. She is awesome. But crumbling Cheezits on top of delicious homemade Mac-n-cheese sounds grotesque. Sorry.
I thought she was gonna say absinthe as the special gravy ingredient 😂
#roundstuffing
I wonder how she get this job? She's probably knows someone in the industry
I can’t believe she labeled the serveware.
Find a way complicate every single thing while insisting the goal is simplicity. Ugh.
Anchovies in the gravy? No. Stop that.
