I also suggest everyone to write a letter to their future self. Being able to visualize the life you want and the goals you want to achieve can be so helpful. Thanks for sharing!

It's because whom you are sharing your problem with are not aware of what's exactly the problem is, you should talk to the person who can understand.

The fact of the matter is this (in my American experience): Nepotism is pervasive in American companies, so high level “imposters” are a legit factor. Many senior level managers have been put in those roles by family members, friends, and spouses. As a result, they lack the competence to do the job effectively. Most of the managers I have worked with don’t deserve their titles or salaries.

I think she forgot the effects of being raised in a narcissistic family system, where the over-educated, over-worked codependent child's accomplishments and reality are continually downplayed or ignored during their formative years. These are the prime candidates for Impostor Sydrome, as they are geared towards over-performing in order to feel they're acceptable to be in the room with everyone else, even when others around them don't have the same standards or feelings of insufficiency with much lower performance levels.

    1) "Inferiority complex" is not a layman's term. It is a formal technical term with an interesting history, including the person who coined the term. Most undergradutate psychology majors are likely to learn this term and something about the person who coined the term. 2) "Neuroscientist" is not spelled "Nueroscientist". Where is the editorial team?

I never feel what I do will be good enough so I’ve given up on trying. I didn’t know this was because of imposter syndrome
