I know the B58 still holds the BMW world record in the M240i (7.91) do we think there’s room to reset that time soon? Did that car have as much weight reduction and was it being pushed as hard as this M3? If I’m not mistaken it had a 3.2 stroker vs the M3 with the 3.4 stroker. Can that build benefit the B58 like it did the S58?
the B58 is just a weaker S58 from factory. There is no reason the S58 can't be pushed way farther than the B58. They are not equally capable by any means... unless you go into the realms where you replace every single part of the engine.

There’s just more flow coming from that stock turbo set up. There’s debatably a higher percentage of B58s holding more power on stock block than S58s. There’s for sure more B58s in the 7s, and yes while most are in the lighter Supra, with that logic we should expect the same from weight reduction M2s if the S58 truly is superior like you claim. I’m not knocking the on the S58 at all btw.

The s58 is still quite new unless you consider the X3M implementation as the "start of S58 tuning"... which, even if... still less age on the platform. Half the age of the B58 really... The S58 after all is literally just a more performant B58 from factory.

This is off topic of the video but I keep going back and forth with either getting MHD or ecutek for my m340i. I need help I cannot decide. I need some opinions on both of them. Especially power differences too.
@@deeleem1724 bro it’s amazing, BMWs are good cars but the c8 is a pure sports car. It’s steering amazing, so fast and darty better than any bmw I’ve had even the g87 m2. The power is so addictive it’s a redline beast. The car handles amazing with z51 and magride def get both. Girls love it like really for real (and guys too). I’ve owned alot of BMWs and this made me think that bmw doesn’t build a good sports car anymore more muscle cars now.
That will never happen. Undersquare engines are good until 1500whp. To get to 3000whp you need high revolutions and low torque. A 2000whp GTR revs to 9000rpm. A 3000whp revs to 11krpm. You cannot do that when the rods are to long, as it experiences much more speed than a smaller rod. You will also need to bore, which isn’t possible on either an s58 or a b58 as there is no material there. All the GTRs, lambos have the ability to rev high. Especially Lamborghinis with 10 pistons. The b58 makes 1500whp, but also makes 1300lbft of torque. Compare that to a fast gtr that makes 1350lbft of torque but makes 2200whp. The equation is horsepower is torque x rpm/5252. Torque is what kills engines, but also makes them feel fast.
@2seep GTRs are using billet blocks and other expensive engines to get to that power, too. Unless they do the same, I don't see them doing that with stock bmw blocks. The platform just needs the support unfortunately the 7 sec cars are on the extreme end. Don't see the average owner chasing gtr times.
