One of the petty way to get some nanites I recently found is that you could resell the technology upgrades you buy with discount for full price, just need to raise your standing with the race you buy the tech upgrades from, at max standing you'll get 50% discount which translate to double the nanites you spent, just remember to avoid starship engine tech, engines tech only resell-able as units

Extra tip: Once the Nanite section is filled, keep the input filled for double duping.

You could also do this with larval cores. They refine much faster and give much more nanites.

Inverted mirrors are better they give 95 Nanites each

Just look up a nanite farm and fill up on fungal mold .. unlimited nanites

To be honest this glitch is almost useless, if you really want you can lower the difficulty too make items cheaper or use save editor to give you infinite nanites. But yeah i can see someone needing it for a niche reason, maybe it's more useful in consoles.
