I couldn't agree more. And I love the way you jump down after the ball but stripe it up the middle! I still play the R9 with the 65 shaft and have for years - many younger players look to see what I hit because it sounds so good, and has such a great ball flight. I loaded the weights to the max I could get around for consistency and inertia, and it works great. I'm 58 and still outdrive many young guys with the latest and greatest equipment. Gotta love the older TM's.

As a beginner getting into golf, these videos are invaluable! Its crazy how cheap these second hand drivers are. I bought the callaway diablo after seeing one of your videos. Really happy with it. Keep it up mate.

Played one of these for years. Great head shape and hit my longest ever drives with it. The trick was to set the sleeve all the way open and then stick the 16g weight in the heel.

Had a Tour Issue Superdeep with Speeder 757 tour spec in 10.5 about 8-10 years ago. Used to hit Par 4s with it regularly. Monster drives with the wind behind but into wind it used to balloon and I didn't have the "spin knowledge" I have now. Happier with the SLDR and happier again with my Epic but dont hit those odd 350 yarders anymore which were so much fun but I also don't balloon it much anymore. Thanks Simon for bringing the memories back to life. And awesome hitting mate! 👌💪

OMG my heart just dropped when I saw you reviewing this club. I am a huge fan of TaylorMade and this club would be amazing in my bag considering I am without driver right now. My wife was loading my clubs in the back of my SUV and when she shut the hatch it crushed my old TaylorMade aeroburner and I have been driving with an old cobra baffler XL 3 wood. With driver prices the way they are today my wife won't let me spend the money to buy a new one so this would be an answer to my current situation. Love all the content you provide, keep up the good work

I have had that very same bat in my bag. Loved it from the moment it came out and I hit lovely long draws with it at a TM sponsored range day. But it’s the traditional look that drew me it first. Great stick.

Just purchased 2nd hand R9 irons and they are fantastic. Feel so confident standing above the ball, mentality is so much more important than people realise. Knowing that I have quality in my bag has changed my game. Maybe when I've cured my slice I can move away from my SLDR to the R9 Driver

Amazing video. I still own the R9 460.. could never part ways. I use it from time to time. Awesome sound too. My other driver is the ping G400 max, only advantage is that The ping misses are a more forgiving and not punishing. This driver is forgiving too, But not as much as the Ping G400 max. But when I play my TM R9 The sound and the trajectory itself brings a smile to my face. Especially when I outdrive the other guys I always like to say I am hitting a 10 to 13 years old driver. You should see the look on their faces. Keep it up from USA CT

I'd love to try a modern driver, I've been using old Dunlop diamond max metal woods for about 5-6 years now and I've honestly been in love with taylomade golf clubs since they released the r11 and r11s series. Something that would be interesting to see in an upcoming video would be a comparison between current driving irons and hybrids to see which are more forgiving and would be better suited for mid to high handicap golfers.

The R9 series is great, I play the 5 Ti Wood and it goes as far as any new fairway wood. I'd like to see reviews of something exotic like old Taylor Made or Mizuno hybrids, or hybrid shafts in a fairway wood or driver head. Love your channel, because your reviews are unbiased!

Just love the look of this driver. I made a joke about roofing this in the last video, but would seriously love to try it. I think it would be fantastic if you were able to find some stupidly cheap iron sets for this series, but realise how tough that is going to be if you aren't trawling the charity shops.

Perfect! I play this driver with joy! Bought a perfect condition, stiff shaft, for around a 100 pounds. Hit it with a controlled swing about 280 yards. Works so good for me. No way I give 1000 pounds for a new driver that does the same job and looks the same

I remember testing that driver when it was brand new. I think it was over $600.00 back then. I was testing the regular R9 460 and the smaller one, I think 440 cc or 400cc. I can't remember. I think it was set at 6 degrees. I hit one drive 330 yards out of about ten drives. The rest went about 175 yards all over the place. I went with the regular 460 R9. I still have it. I used it today for a quick 9 holes. I like old drivers too. I have a few...
