been a veterant at making toogles and wanted to show a friend your tutorial. Gues that now your technique is mine because it sounds a lot more simplier than how i do it! thank you so much!
Of course! If it helps, there's something called "Controller Editor" that can help you make toggles and such. It helps significantly. Also something called "RATS", which visually helps the animation controller editing, as well as fixing weird bugs with it (renaming a new layer causing the whole stack to scroll up, not being able to see the whole layer when switching between them, not being able to see what animation is in what state without clicking on it, etc.) I absolutely recommend them!
I tried adding an fbx model as a prop to my avatar and the tutorial worked well but only I can see the prop when I play on vrchat other people cant see my props. How do I solve that?
Did you make sure that you checked "synced" on the parameter in the parameter list? That'll make it so the parameter is synced across your view and other people's views
through this my tpose changed and now my pants are completely misaligned cause they didnt change with the avatars tpose i mean i pose the pants manually anyway cause i found the first thing that kinda worked good enough for me but that happened for some reason anyways

@fischy0339 gotcha. I'd look up other tutorials on how to add clothing to avis. If the clothes weren't specifically made for the base, it's going to clip, glitch, and bend incorrectly. Usually what's needed to fix that is going into blender, reconfiguring the clothes model to fit the avatar, replacing the old rig on the clothes with the new rig from the actual body (you can duplicate it or share the armature between the two), and then weight paint the clothes so that they bend properly. It's kind of a pain, but will fix your issue. Some tips on weight painting, you can use "Weight Paint Transfer" to roughly match the weights between the body and the clothes, but some touch-ups will likely be necessary.

Hey, quick question. My avatars always have the toggles turned on automatically. Is that related to the fact that I checked the "default" box in the parameters?
That's exactly correct. In the parameters list (notably with the one connected with the menu, not the fx controller), checking the box marked "Default" next to the parameter will keep them on by default. Then it'll either always activate when you reload the avatar (reset preferences) if the "saved" checkbox is on, or it'll always activate when you join a new world or switch back to the avatar if the "saved" checkbox is off. Basically remember it as this: - "Default" checked means that it'll activate by default - "Saved" on means it'll keep its state when switching avatars or worlds. - "Saved" off means it won't save between avatars or worlds, and will reset to "Default On" every time the avatar is loaded.
@mariapuentes3794 gotcha. So in that case, either you need to verify you have the model selected when you do the animation window, or instead go a poorly bit further in the tutorial where you see me making a second animation. That menu should let you make a new animation
yep it works :3 if you're doing multiple hairstyles, you can instead follow this tutorial that i made and use "integers": ruclips.net/video/r9q7nc1wPgA/видео.html
In the video, i showed how you can get the fx controller for a new avatar, and how to make your own animations for toggles. If that doesn't help, feel free to msg me on discord (@sylviacrisp).
Not sure what's wrong, when I go to use gesture manager it says there is no VRC_AvatarDescriptors, then I add it and it shows up but then my toggles don't work. Any help would be much appreciated!
Did you make sure that your FX controller, Menu, & Parameters List is attached to the avatar descriptor on your avatar? If not, then the toggles wouldn't work.
@@Zkronen second on this, vrcfury makes clothing easier. only time ive seen thats needed to do it manually if you are condensing multiple animations into a one click toggle
This. The video lost me at 0:25. I don't see any parameters list. I see a warning about Parameter not found on the active avatar descriptor, and that's it.
Did you click record, select the object you want to toggle, and click the checkmark in the inspector? If the recording button was on, it should've saved a keyframe. Check 0:47 for a refresher.
@luma7423 so it depends on what you're trying to animate. Bone rotations only work if the bone isn't part of the rig that's set for the avatar (bones like hips, Chest, fingers). If you're trying to toggle off a bone entirely, it won't work no matter what. Can you give some more details on what you're trying to do?
