He went there as part of his rehab for a very serious knee injury. An injury that at his age normally makes other players cease their careers. He wanted to play football but needed to come back in shape after a long pause due to his injury. Thus why he left Manchester United and went to MLS. Once he was back in shape after playing more then 50 matches in MLS he felt fit enough for playing in a top Europe league and then decided for Serie A. But he now plays more careful to protect his knee. Still, he is not doing to bad ...
