What’s up guys and gals, I’m Kage848. I love to make videos for RUclips, mostly early access survival games like 7 Days to Die, Empyrion, Raft, Mist Survival, The Forest, and more! I also dabble in City Builders and strategy games like Civilization 5, Civilization 6, Dawn of Man, Stonehearth, Factorio and Rim World. I do at least two videos everyday of mainly tutorials, let’s plays and general gameplay footage. Thanks for watching my videos.
---------------------------------
This Early Access game is not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development.

How hyped are you for more of The Forest!? Let's see just how high we can get the LIKES on this one!
I say let's start at 1,000 Likes!
Feel free to join my Discord to talk about The Forest, Medieval Dynasty, or whatever ya like, or just come by and say hi - ►Discord Server: discord.gg/73yUsEE
well you got 1200 views in under an hour, so you might wanna shoot a little higher for this one lmao
@@grenshaw6836 Barely anyone liked the video though
Kage!!!!!! Let’s play 7 days bro console tho I think I only have like Alfa sixteen it’s poop but comes play with me lol
Kage848 hope you are doin well and i am new here and i have been having fun watching you and i would like to see you play grounded because i was watching someone called broadbent and i think i butchered his name lol but point is it seems like it would be a cool game to play and it is being updated or waiting on a new update not sure which
@@grenshaw6836 Let's get to 1k and then see lol
My dad is the same way with subnautica. He wants to forget everything so he can play it again with the full experience
yea i have to admit subnautica really did great job. it got a lot of hype too for what it is- was. im grateful. my fav youtubers did playthrough while in beta, they wound up being hired on to do voice acting for the game. was funny. i playin the game stepped away for min came back i hear talking.... i trying to close my web browser etc talking keeps going i couldnt figure out where they were playin from. finally realized was from the game lols..
Same
@Cosmatic wait a couple months for the full release if you want the best experience
subnautica was amazing. Something unlike other games of the genre... like this game lol, well in most aspects. subnautica is a breath of fresh air haha
@@dreadmenguin8671
Give me your dad, I don't want the one who beat me up for forgetting to put butter back in the fridge within the first thirty seconds after he ordered so anymore...
For new players, I would suggest building a base on the beach just down from the main cannibal base. They don't patrol it at all and will never bug you when you're down there. However, this is quite boring since your base will never get attacked.
So happy you are doing this again. Your Forest gameplay is what helped me find your channel in the first place!
ME TOO!!!
I'm new to The Forest, and I've been wanting to go through an older playthrough you've had after hearing it in Subsitance and other games. But I'm glad you started now, and I love that you go over things for us newbies.
once you learn the layout of the map the game becomes stupid easy cause you can instantly know where to get the modern axe or katana or what ever item you want tbh and i like to use the north facing moutain if i want to go north to find the katana or south to find the modern axe
YAAAY ANOTHER THE FOREST SEASON!! This is my favorite series hehe 🙌🙌🙌
The farest
You address the first-time players, and speak about your wish to erase your memory for the experience, but then constantly provide spoilers. So far I have only found one video which doesn’t spoil the experience for first-timers.
Thank you so much for starting a new series on the forest. As soon as i saw the thumbnail it made me wanna start a new game.
Lately I've been playing through this game. I love the visuals and the exploration in this game. I also love that it's possible to tame most of the cannibals too.
Wtf how do you tame them?!? Thats crazy
@@jordanbelfort4223 I saw this video ruclips.net/video/aLXBQ5R3Vgg/видео.html on how to do it. It's been working good for me so far. They still come around and attack a little but not very much. If you try to camp for the night by their village though, they will keep attacking.
Literally finishing watching the other forest series, so happy to have more content after I finish all of them :,)
Loved your last series for the Forest! Currently in process of watching it (Ep 27). Not sure if you figure it out in the rest of that series but when putting meat on the drying rack, it puts the meat in your hand on there first. So if you have dried meat and raw meat in your bag, put the raw meat in your hand instead of dropping the dried meat on the ground and it puts the raw meat on! Have to go back into back to put a raw meat in your hand every time though...
Right click drawn bow and arrow to put the arrow down. No more shooting into the ground!
Also! I heard that water collectors are indestructible and un-jumpable (even by Virginias). If you make a "wall" out of them all your stuff will be protected :) In case you wanted to try that out, you got the turtles haha. Keep up the good work! Love the vids!
Awesome, Kage! This is my #1 survival, I only take breaks because the constant on edge and jump scares make me need them. My most favorite part of it is the cannibal's AI. I love to just watch them. I wish there was a way to make friends with them, haha.. I've tried and tried.
Any chance you will do storyline this time? It is really good story. I bet people would watch this series more if you do story also, if you just build it will be same thing like last 20 series back
i think most people dont care if he does the story or not. if people like to watch gamers playing minecraft for 8+ years then i think Kage is good right now
I cant believe you saw him on the first day! I love this game. I dont know if they changed it but you can raise your athleticism by holding your breath under water. Love that I get to see you play this - multi player was so much fun with friends.
I actually bought this game several months ago but only just started playing a couple of days ago. I am now totally addicted, despite the level of stress involved in simple tasks like collecting sticks. Next thing you know, there's heavy breathing over your shoulder..... RUN!!!!!
I'm so happy that I found your stream. I'm not much into watching other people play games, but this game is so intricate, I'm not sure that I would be successful without your help. So, thank you!
As for favorite survival games, This game is certainly at the top of my list with "Grounded". It's still in early access, but if you enjoy getting the creeps, I certainly recommend that you check it out! Now that I've watched this entire series, I'll be looking forward to the next episode! Aloha!
I was so excited waking up to see this series today! I suggest using Water Collectors as your steps to get up to the roof of your houseboat (Place two on your left, as soon as you walk onto the houseboat.) On top you can build drying racks and/or rabbit cages to start breeding. Inside the boat you can build a bed that fits perfectly into the nook off to the right as you enter the boat.
AHHHH...so The Forest is the mystery game returning to the channel. I certainly don't have a problem with that! #MutantsUnite #ArmsyForPresident2024
I just decided to restart playing the forest again and had to come back to your videos on it as my go to guide and best pastime series to watch. Not played in so long and I’ve been getting the itch to survive the cannibals and mutants again…and this time actually find this guy’s son! So a 2 week break from work to start my journey and follow yours, thank you so much for the amazing and quality content as usual!
Yoo, this survival games definitely a good one
eh its okay its extremely repetitive and so small for the years put into it...i wouldn't say #2 maybe 5. if this game had more to it sure but its same thing over and over and can be finished in under 2 hours...
@@TaurielWoW Yeah, I agree it's kind of repetitive
On my personal opinion, what make it's really good is the ending tho.
@@TaurielWoW the story is just wonderful and makes it so much better
I actually saw my co-worker play this in our office back in 2018 (Yes we are allowed to play any games we have as long as we finish our job) I not that interested after seeing it since I kinda see it like one of those simulator games. But 2 days ago I was invited by my friends to play this, then saw this video of yours and it made me tried it out. And I swear I'm already addicted to the game just by playing it for 30 minutes.
Just bought the game after watching it and wanting it for years now, I got a pc and know I'm buying the games I always wanted to play. great Video!
I built my base on that peninsula, I like the spot because cannibals only come from one direction. It also has a cave to the north and a few ponds for fishing too.
From the start make a dock that's not directly connected to the beach, then build a floor for your future castle out in the water far enough that it can't be hit since they won't swim, and then build boats to get back and forth. Then you have a safe place away from everything where they can't destroy anything and you're free to roam during the day and safe at night. I built mine close to a camp and then a zip line going to my fortress for log transfers.
Just don't like me and land your boat somewhere and forget where you left it lol.
I absolutely love this game, it even started me off on my YT channel with my 1st ever season. So glad you're back on this game Kage. Bring on "Sons of The Forest" in the new year.....CANT WAIT
I like the house boat. It’s nice to be able to build on the roof. I normally put a water collector right to the side of the entrance and it lets you jump up there really easily.
I got this game for the first time 2 weeks ago on the steam summer, and me and a friend are playing together. It's soo fun. We always play on the hardest difficulty for games so we're on hard survival. The early game was absolutely brutal and we made a tree base that got destroyed by a mutant. Still feel like I have so many things to do, especially building wise because I wanna have some sick bases all connected by ziplines.
Bought The Forest last weekend because you recommended it (and it was on sale)! 3 hours in and I really like it! Love your videos!
u can put drying rack on the boat...place a water collector left side of the door..and u can jump on that to get on to the roof and place the drying rack over there....easy peasy😁
I just got it and beat it in 3 days with my friends😂. We tried setting up camp then the big armsies and Virginia’s broke down the tree houses. So we just kept being mobile and not staying somewhere to long. We got all special weapons and instead of going through the caves we rode down the butthole on turtle shells and beat the story. We picked the plane which I regret cuz I looked up the other ending and it’s so much better to me
The ending where you get creative mode is better, you can also go back and change the decision you want, I saved my game before making the decision so I can go back and choose the other option. Also there’s a setting where the monsters can’t destroy your houses or any building structures at all, I’m on day 66 and not once has my house destroyed :)
Beyond hyped for this! I am so excited someone is going back! I have missed watching this game, so thank you! I enjoy playing this but enjoy watching other people play just as much!
This is the first time I have seen this game and it looks awesome!
16:45 you COULD sleep through the night in your temporary shelter if you hadn't blown it up with that last stick of dynamite, lol.
i watched you awhile back and i saw this because i was subed with notis and i saw this vid and im noq coming back to this game ty!
My brother got me into all these survival building games. I've been playing sooooo much 7 Days to Die, but I've wanted to try other ones (Ark, Rust, The Forest, etc). My brother also played The Forest with his friend, and I watched just a little bit of it, but I wanted to see more. Thanks for the video! :D
Love the Forest. Hope you keep playing it
Just got this game today, when I saw the log slay I was like 0_0 bruh
Have a look at "Sons of the forest" the new sequel any survival gamer is "dying" to play... Cant wait!
@@VirusOfCyrus yep seems like It have a really good graphic and the a.i. of the cannibals and the animals Is great, but when Will It come out :(
For those looking to play this, I highly suggest changing the key binding for inventory from "i" to "tab" (like 7d2d). Much easier. I wish I did this early on instead of half way through my play through.
Another thing, it isn't apparent in the game, but you can set hot keys by going into inventory>placing backpack in the middle with the item you want to hot key>and you can set which number 1-4 you want to set it as.
and water: you can make a rain catcher if you get a turtle shell, but you can also find a pot and boil water with that to make it drinkable. You can also drink straight from ponds, etc, but I think it hurts your health a little or something
I am so into this game it's ridiculous. I just recently beat it on my first solo, Normal game and kept going, so on day 170 I believe. Now that I have the artifact I've been just focusing on trying to make my base look perfect. I'm trying to complete every single thing and get 100% on this Normal game, then once I've done everything I can with that save I'm going to start a harder difficulty. Just liked and subbed. Will be continuing to crack out on this along with you. :)
I've owned it for a long time, since easy back in early access. Still haven't played it though
I owned it for a long time before really getting into it too. I suggest doing a test play through just to get used to game mechanics, then creating a new game after that.
Welp, time to boot up forest again and make a houseboat build! Can't wait to see how yours will turn out
Finally I'm seeing you for about 2 years and I am so excited about the new series. You're the best.
Love the sizable and creative builds you do in the forest! Inspired my first build to go big and setup in a crossing path of the cannibal patrols on the west coast!! Such a good season 😃
So you can put the water catch next to the door of your house boat and then you can also us it as a step to get on top of your house boat and then you can build on top also and love the videos keep it up man good stuff.
I've watched Vanoss play The Forest years ago, but didn't consider purchasing it til now - after stumbling across your channel. And I'm glad I watched your vids before buying & playing The Forest for myself, 'cause with your in-depth descriptions & explanations about said game(s), they've helped me navigate & build thoroughly w/o a problem, and you're right, if your log sled sinks it's doomed. Thank you!
Yay! More of the Forest! I love it when you play this one! I can't wait to see what kind of build you do this season.
build the bed in the little corner right of the enterence build your water colecters for stairs on left side out side the entrence in lil porch on boat and then logs sticks and stuff on top and you start at sailboat with a bed there and put catipult on roof too
In my first playthrough I made a boat base. It was really awesome and spooky in a different way. I don't think anyone forgets their first night in The Forest because how damn dark it gets so quickly. But living out on the ocean is also creepy because you're just out there in the middle of nowhere. Not sure what you will do with this base, but it's really cool to just drift along. It feels very "Waterworld" like. And yes...you can put water catches on the base. I managed to get quite a bit on that boat base. Good times.
@kage848 I just wanted to say, i'm a long time follower! NEVER QUIT doing the things you love. All of your videos are amazing.
Just started playing this for the first time yesterday. But still addicted to The Infected.
This is one of those games I had on my steam wishlist for a while and picked up on sale one time and forgot to ever go play it. I ran across your Medieval Dynasty let's play a while back and started looking at some of the other games you play and am finding them very enjoyable for myself. I thank you for having such excellent tastes in games. As for The Forest, I went to check on it in steam and it was in my library so I will be playing that soon as well.
I started last week. I have played 7 days, nms, strandard deep and subnautica. Don’t know why it’s taken me this long to play, it’s becoming my favourite
I hope you continue doing this game cause it looks really good and I am actually started to see the end of this Game store line I am very excited to see what the end of the game looks like for the full time thumbs up
Kage, the only problem I have with you is you put out so much content I don't have time to watch it all!! On second thought never mind, not a problem, keep'em coming!
Yeah I watched one of your playlist and wanted to see what you gonna be making on this playlist now. I love watching these survival games
Hi kage I am seeing this game for the first time and I am hyped! I just started watching your channel when I found your medieval dynasty posts and I fell in love! You are so knowledgeable and eager to learn knew things. I love that about you. It makes watching interesting. I'm so glad I found this channel, keep up the good work!
Just a tip for blowing trees. Face the way you want the trees to fall. And they can roll down hills easily
@12:37 cannible sleep in standing position. You can go all the way to them and kill them with one shot in head. Make sure you crouch. Noise wakes them up.
Funny that you said you will watch your old game plays to remember where things are. I used your videos quite a lot to find items when I played this for game over the Summer. Watching your game play makes me want to come back although I am a Subsistence junkie right now (190 hours and counting). I assume Subsistence is in your top 5 based on your videos. Side note i use upgraded spears for melee and on another note the mest on the drying racks does degrade and eventually go bad. Also you can use the hole tool (you taught me this i think) to remove sleds that sink in the water. Oh yeah you taught me this too but sleds can be used for rocks and sticks also.
So glad you’re playing this game again
I just bought it tonight and have been toying with it for the last few hours. Gonna restart now and play through with you
I love the way you are debating if wiping your mind would be a good thing or not (When it's not even possible) lol
Also would love to see a modded series of this (If that's possible, not looked into it)
You have a save point on the yacht though... just boat out to the yacht with your house boat and chill and save out there.
If you put water catchers just outside the door of the houseboat against the wall you can jump on them to jump to the roof.
It’s my first time watching The Forest , I got here from binging your whole Green Hell Series
I bought The Forest because of this lets play. I watched the first few episodes, heard you talking about how much you like it. I looked at the Steam reviews and they're very positive as well so I decided to spend the money. My only wish is that there was a slightly better tutorial. I've had to do internet searches to figure out some basic stuff and I don't like to do that with games. It breaks immersion.
7 Days to Die is one of my favorite games as well. I think I got that because of you too, but that was way back in A16 so I don't remember.
You don't need to chase rabbits with a slingshot.
The first thing you do after you land on the island is you go to get the katana. It's OP and too easy to get.
I am actually looking at it for the 1st time. And if it shows that it's a game that's good for me cause my waiting in writing also get cause I love survival type of games. That's why I love watching your RUclips channel cause of that. And many other good reasons. You really get at what you do
1ST time hearing of this game and I'm like 7 mins into the video and I'm extremely excited to watch this series!!!👍🏼
I played this game with my dad, my brother and my brothers gf and it was amazing. I live this game with every cell in my body.
More than a year since I played this. I remember avoiding the canibals and stting a base up in bottom right corner(I think) on an island, was surviving ok food water tools but I never really progressed beyond that.
Hey Kage please publish a top 10 list of survival games. I just bought 7 days on Halloween special and want to play it but I can't seem to stop playing Subsistence and I see you have started those up again (I bult my base on the same rock you used in the big lake). I still want to play Mist and Empyrion (make more of that game play too please). I know it isn't survival specifically or really have much crafting but have you ever played Skyrim SE (this is in my top 5 video games as well)? Keep up the great work - your game plays have entertained and help me a lot. I also have watched all of your Medieval Dynasty play throughs but still haven't bought that for some reason because it just seems too complicated with all the farming, etc and I'm not sure I would love it.
Meat doesn't spoil on the drying rack, but you can accidentally put spoiled raw meat on it. It goes low quality pretty quick though, so you have to eat 3 pieces instead of one for the same calories. You can make sure to put only Fresh raw meat on a drying rack, but you will soon have more than you can eat. Unless you play Hard Survival none of this matters really, you will be fine. :)
Roof has more space, but you can't build anything on it. And you can't get up on it jumping on a water collector anymore, but I made it work with a stick holder IIRC.
I have definitely had meat spoil on the rack if you leave it there too long (fish i believe). I have drying racks all over the world at my forward bases so sometimes I forget it is there.
Kaggggeeeeeee!!! Welcome back to the island!
Cool to see you play this. You playing this game a few years ago finally made me buy it too!
Was absolutely obsessed with this game for a few weeks. Lots of fun. Tje only thing for me is that %90 of the game and the things you can do are fluff. You can from the very start of the game just run through all the necessary caves. No need to actually ever build any structure other than a campfire and a save spot. And not even the save spot. And the idea that you can hurt others at the same time pvp is damn near impossible. A few minor changes and this game could be so much better.
Great content. Glad I subscribed. Keep up the good work
Heyo kage, I discovered u since no far but I love u cause ur make live the games
I'm definitively gonna buy the forest rn❤️
The red man could be someone who crashed like you and wears the red paint. I never seen anyone on the yacht before.
You can build just about anything that you can find a flat spot for on the houseboat
from what I've seen so far absolutely. I dont have a gaming PC so watching you play is pretty cool.
Kage for this series you should do lore episodes like every 3-4 to speculate and hopefully another shoutout from Game Theory will come your way!
I built on the peninsula with the giant tree on it and I would say that that is the best building location on the map for defense
This game is awesome
Seen this in passing a few times but never actually watched any of it... so this is my first viewing experience for this game. Looking forward to see what's in store for it, cant wait.
I've been watching you since 2016🙏🏾😭quality content
I got the game after watching you play it the the videos you did of the game glad your playing it again bro
Not only is this one of the best survival games ever it's also one of the scariest
Oh kage you did you forgot that you can get 3 ropes from boat. And you can eat and sleep/save there.
hey place a water colecter outside on the boat in the corner you can giltch jump on top of the boat sorry for spelling
upgraded stick can hit the ground and find slingshot ammo anywhere
You may not see this before you make next video. But I always put the water collector by the door of the house boat. And it allows you to jump on top of the roof.
Er, as much as I want you to get the views and likes, I would personally advise anyone who hasn't played The Forest (but wants to) to not watch this or any other series on the game, because going into the game with as little knowledge as possible will have a much stronger impact. Personal preference, I'm sure, but I think fumbling your way through figuring things out, discovering locations and loot, devising the best strategies to deal with the game's challenges is crucial to the experience, and going into it with the knowledge and pro strats of where stuff is located, which tools and structures you should build first, how to deal with things will lessen the game's impact. Because I think The Forest is easily one of the most terrifying games I've played in the last decade or so, and the fact that I didn't know what the hell I was doing when I first started playing was a big part of that. I was woefully unprepared and that first night, sitting in the dark with a pathetic little campfire, freaking the f*** out at the sounds coming from the pitch blackness of night...I can't remember the last game that put me that much on edge. I don't typically find games scary, but The Forest got me good. I'd recommend going into it knowing as little as possible, wearing headphones, and playing in a dark room.
Love this Game. THX Kage for bringing back
Seen this game before but really never thought of getting it, it seems interesting
I actually saw this game featured on the PlayStation store one day and I love this game
You know you can make an elevator unless they patched it. You put a floor, then back wall, the a floor on top of the back wall. You then take the log sled onto the bottom floor get all the way on, let go if the log sled then pick it up again and you will move up. I dont know if they patched it or not though but I know a few months ago when I last played it it was still working.
You can actually make a real elevator lol. Ill make one to show you
Omg I have been watching your videos from a year ago and am just now seeing this... I’ve been playing the forest for a few days
I ve watch you play this he since your first time I got it 3 days ago and am loving it
I've never seen or played this game but I've heard of it. Looking forward to see what it's about!
Hey how’s 7 days to die? I’ve played stranded deep, subnautica, green hell and this. How does it compare? Awesome vid man.
