Hey Kage, when chasing a chicken you can herd him in the direction by running to the left or right of him depending on which way you want him to turn, thereby directing him away from predators. Also they often run you across crates, not always predators. Also let the fire go out. The tradeoff between making a firestarter or getting enough loot being able to roam further from your base is really a no brainer. You can lose out big on finding loot keeping the fire going all day.
I play a lot of 7 days but I like to switch up my games every now and then. I have been using your Forest and Subsistence series as starter tutorials. Cool vids.
1) If you zoom in with a weapon and then look at the map, you are also zoomed in on the map. So, there is normal view and two "levels of zoom", depending on what weapon you zoom in with. And by holding right mouse button when in map mode, you can move around on the map. 2) Also note that if you change the number of days for a year, you will reset the map and you will loose everything you have open up (bug?). 3) You can move foundations, but only a certain distance at the time. So, you can move it to the beach, but in several steps. Just note that you cannot move a BCU. You can destroy it (get half of the resources back), but not move it. But quite cheap to create new one, so not a big problem. 4) It is enough if you run to close to a hunter base (you don't have to attack it), to trigger a revenge attack.
Glad to see you’re giving subsistence another go. Nice. Bears do eat chickens btw, and eggs, and any feed that you put out for said chickens. They cause a shit ton of damage to the coops in the process too.

I enjoy this game. I have also had it since it was new. It is indeed hardcore. The developer is a legend. He does this solo yet the updates keep coming out and really impact the game. I wish all developers were this good and this dedicated to the game. If you die to an animal, that animal levels up. Not only do you play this game, the game plays you!
Promise you. Once I’m through college. I’m gonna create the most realistic survival game on the internet. Life like. Realistic physics. No matter how long it takes me. I have a group, 31 people, all know how to program. I have a group, 12 people, all know how to create animations, models, and art. I’ve been learning video game programming for 7 years now, because this is my dream, to make the most realistic game. I have 1 more year of college. And I’m off. I Already own a house, I already own 2 cars and a motorcycle, I make bank from my job, so I think I’m set. Working only. 8 hours a day, but getting payed more than I did when I was working even longer because of how hard of a worker I am. I know games take usually years to be completed. And I’m ready for that. It takes more than one programmer, more than one animator. And I’m ready for that. Ready to do what I’ve dreamed of doing. And I’ve made video games in the past, pretty good ones. I have many projects I’m still working on. So I think I’m set. Ready.
Sounds good man. Just an idea: I've always wanted to see a realistic inventory. Actually pulling things out of a backpack, feeling the weight, etc... The Last of Us did the backpack thing, and Death Stranding is a great example of inventory management. But like, more realistic. I feel like it would only fit with some different gameplay or genre, (imagine running around any rpg or survival game out there without black hole pockets). But I think it could be done well. There might be better examples already that I just haven't seen.
@@sethk12 that is actually in my ideas, and there will be easy, normal, hard, and sandbox. You won’t be effected by weight in easy mode. And there will be a realistic storage in normal and hard. There will also be others around the enormous map you can work with to survive. You will be able to invite friends to play with you. This game will take a very very long time to complete, but once it’s done, it’ll be free for anyone. I just want people to be able to experience and enjoy a real physics, real life like game, I’ve had many people ask if I know any game like that, there’s videos on RUclips of people asking followers if they know a game like it. I’m creating this for the people, not for the money, that’s why it’ll be free. and if there’s anything that costs money, it’ll likely just be game add ons. I’ll have a trailer on my channel within the next 4-8 months. Just a short few minute animation and some early gameplay of what gameplay will be like. I dropped out of college, because I’m just learning more of what I already know.
That's actually refreshing seeing that in a game, a prey animal leading a predator into another predator. It does happen in real life, though it can be a risky decision on the prey animal's part but they will do that to force their hunter to face another. The two being distracted means the hunted can get away and live for another day. Again, it is a risk though as they can could be running into a new mouth instead of freedom.
Both traps automatically catch animals if baited. Bait them with grubs, rotten meat, medicinal herbs. Spread them out and dont place them too close to where you live or walk often, else you supposedly scare the animals away. Check them once per day, or morning and evening. Once every few days the traps must be repaired with a hammer. Also, there is a new large expansion of the map to the south, its beautiful, worth building your main base in.
I was watching you old videos and I clicked on this one and just to see how much the game had changed is amazing. Thank you and congratulations to the creator and to you as well @kage. Thank you!! Game looks amazing!!!
Imagine hiking through the forest and suddenly hearing a frenzied clucking from a distressed chicken as it races past you. You're puzzled at first until you realize why its running, its being chased by a half naked madman with a hatchet hopping with every step as he closes in on his bloody dinner. The legend of the hop along chicken murderer was born.
I’ve been waiting for you to play this again especially with the updates. I hope you and Grey can do another co-op game. Good luck and I can’t wait to see your reaction to the bats.

11:40 Paul Soares Jr called the chickens "spy chickens" in Minecraft. I'm guessing that's true in this game.
You make a shot gun out of rabbit skins? How do you make ammo? Maybe from deer shit?
I'm really glad you like playing games you love and how your so dedicated to this, it might not mean much but just know that you have the most potential ever :)
I'm buying it right now... when that wolf growled I took my headphones out and one side broke..
i am a huge fan of survival games, especially realistic ones abs your channel is a big entertainment source for me
I remember watching a play of this game, the thing that bugged me, was the infinitely respawning little bags of loot.
Hey guys, I was wondering if there is any talk about this game coming to the Xbox console.
this game looks really good. first time I've seen it. I think I'll get this game it looks really fun
looking at getting back into this game.. its been a while.. and looks like lots added great to see
"It's probably the hardest core survival game."
You haven't played Cataclysm: DDA. It has a huge learning curve, and it's an everything apocalypse game.
you may be right, but that game isn't FP or pretty
one he said that then I know he clearly never played a REAL hardcore survival game then lol
be ok if it wasnt just managing inventory for 90% after the first 5 hours or so
@@whiskizyo2067 I'll admit Cata isn't for most people, but It's one of the most complex survival games I have played. If you setup an early base, or find a vehicle, then things aren't that hard to manage.
@@gamingguru2k6 im talking about the managing of a main place inventory like vehicle or base and every time you go out to loot and bring it back, sorting it all, maintaining it all, using from it all etc.
anyone know if the dev fixed the loot in the new area yet?
the last time i played is when the elevators were added, and there was still BARELY ANY loot in the new area still
i bought this game 3 years ago and played like for 1hr and never played again i still own it mabey sometime ill check it out again at the time it had no co op and small small map no ai i think at the time.
I forgot about how the predators in this game will actually stalk you and attack when you're not paying attention.
anyone else waiting for the scream as he was focused on the chicken and walking right into a bear? (11:29)
7 days to die never gets boring
“I can beat for a while” 😳 4:41
holy shit the amount of wildlife is crazy, i mean I have personally been hunting(walking around not post) for 8-10 hour periods without seeing a single game bird and this is with a dog....
Literally was just watching the old series on this you had on your channel and was wondering if you'd ever bring it back and damn
I’ve had this game about a year been off and on but nothing has really changed. What’s the new update like?
Heck yeah
1 man team?! that is very impressive
the losing stuff fear, reminds me of RUST in the beginning...lol
:this game is so hard
:starts with hatchet
Me: bro you get a rock when you start rust, plus you get godlike players killing you and not shit AI
