I QUIT my Firefighting Career & became Financially Free in 15 months * Its not what you think!

  • As a Professional Firefighter I was exhausted physically and mentally. Dealing with the worlds most traumatic moments on a daily basis I felt like my life was going nowhere fast. I reached an income ceiling where the only way I would earn more income was if I climbed the cooperate ladder, brown nosed the horrible bosses and eventually was promoted. This would have taken a lot of time since the promotion list are heavily guarded by seniority list and favoritism. I began to noticed that Firefighters at my department were being used not appreciated or respected. Maters only became worse as my ambition for a more fulfilling life became obvious to my peers and I no longer fit in with the regular Joes. So after toiling for far too long I decided to make the leap and quit my career job and leave behind the luxuries of firefighter benefits, status and retirement. I didn't leave for money or to get financially rich, in fact when I left I had no idea what I would do to stay afloat! That's when I turned each of my skills, hobbies and passions into a small reliable streams of revenue. I found that multiple side hustles, started years in advance, allowed me to quickly pivot and change my life for the better and because each side gig covered a specific need financially this allowed me to live very comfortably, do only what I love doing and become financially independent. This video walks you through everything I've accomplished since setting out on my own and focusing 100% my effort towards my passions. I built an Air bnb cabin, started a cattle ranch, launched my marketing company and improved my RUclips channel on top of making tons of improvements to my property. You'll get to see all of the projects around the property that I have been working on as well as get some insight on how I earn a healthy living and am well on my way to becoming "rich". Keep in mind that my definition of "rich" goes deeper than just numbers in a bank account. I value my time, my health, my activities, and relationship with my family as much if not more than just money.

I am a few years behind you in experiencing this same scenario.. for me its working 60+ hours a week that's killing me. I'm glad I found this video. Very encouraging to see that it is possible to succeed when the job you enjoy/thought you would enjoy doesn't turn out. Mad props to you for having the courage to figure this out and execute it into a win. I can't wait until I can do the same. Keep up the good work on your channel!

"...when the career I thought I loved turned out to be something I hated doing" is stirring something in me and it's kind of scary.
Maxx, I respect what you do so much. I love what you're doing with the property and all your various projects. I love your videos. I'm sorry you feel you missed your opportunity to "make it" with RUclips, but I'm glad you're still putting out content and maybe it is the fact that you have other independent revenue streams that makes your content feel so authentic.

Yeah man, unfourtunetly Firefighting has changed a lot in the last few years. I loved it at first but the culture changed and it wasn't the job I signed up for, on top of that i had big visions and goals for the future and the combination made me miserable. And yeah man, there was a time when the channel was going nuts but I was distracted trying to keep it all going and i didnt really take advantage of it. But it's all good man, made it out, landed on my feet and I've got big plans for the future. Not relying on youtube has actually been a huge blessing

I did notice the things that you talked about but the thing that made me leave is not wanting to see a child pass away again. I also made a video to talk about why I left. It was a scary decision to make be it was also a dream of mine. I have the upmost respect for people in this career too. Of course like any job there are bad toxic people but that's just the nature of life. Cheers man!

Very informational! I am a very new firefighter right now only about 6 months on the job, but I also really want to become business owner and content creator for automotive stuff. I know everyone strives for a full career with the fire service and that is definitely not out of the options, but Firefighters especially up here in north Idaho don’t make very much. Since I have that solid base though I do strive to hopefully grow a channel and be able to live alittle more than I can working with the fire service. Thankyou for everything you’ve done and just know that you are an inspiration to me I love your content. Also great hanging out in person with you and Tim haha, it’s entertaining watching when you two get together lol.

Just stumbled onto this account and I just went through the same thing. 9 years as a firefighter/paramedic. It was my dream job and I loved helping people. After a string of bad officers, bad crews, and poor upper management with no direct it literally got to where I would get anxiety sitting in the parking lot at the station. I quit a little over a year ago and havent regretted it yet. I sleep every night and I finally feel satisfied with my work. Keep grinding brother!

Thanks for this. I’m pounding my head against my desk daily knowing that what “I do” isn’t the right thing. I’m inundated with spreadsheets, aka TPS reports, but my gifts/talents are in my creative skills. Once upon a time (pre-vlogging) I dabbled in shooting photos for a well known off-road mag, had an off-roading blog, and designed t-shirts for local 4x4 clubs, but my real job paid the bills so I had to let that all go. I’m not sure how to start any of that back up again but I need an outlet and a change.

Don’t know if you’ll see this max but I work weddings in chelan and Leavenworth as a wedding filmmaker. One thing that I’d suggest is building your venue with accommodation for other vendors on the day. It’s so nice to have a seperate area for us video people, photographers, DJs, caters, planners to sit and eat. Plus having a well designed layout to film and take photos is key to having a great venue.
Harmony meadows in chelan is this. They’ve got a fantastic picture-esk venue and a beautiful little house for the wedding party to get ready in. Really sells the venue when it is designed well for photo and video capture.
Love the videos! Keep going 👍

@@xeekae Got my emt basic doing a night class. Once I had that the local dept hired me and they did an in-house fire school to get me my fire 1 and 2 certs. Then eventually I got my emt advanced, and my ADO, and got promoted to Engineer. I prob won't get my paramedic but instead will work on getting to captain next, so I have to do several certs before I can get promoted for that.

Much happier now... a much better person... That was 2 years ago... Now I just need that money back... was making 125k... money can't buy happiness...

I did freelance content creation and marketing for the first 2 years after quitting. I started a marketing agency in January and so far it’s doing really well making about 1k a day profit now. So, I’m glad I quit!
