I've done some wrestling for fun in my younger years. I even beaten the assistant coach in P.E. in my 7th grade year. I'll be 58 on October 22, 2024. Haven't wrestled in quite a while so i would be rusty at it now. Still, I wouldn't be beyond giving it a try.
Artem the train, good to hear from you brother. The goal’s to be the most impactful wrestling channel on YT, I won’t forget the og’s who helped me get there 🫶
@@WrestlingUniversity i think you are one of the most impactful for me already for mma. Too many amazing bjj instructors still have no wrestling and it makes it tough to employ grappling in mma. You got that main wrestling focus that still keeps bjj in mind. It's a super valuable mix and I very much appreciate it.
It takes some ball to get out there and, while challenging others, challenge yourself. My hats off to you and all the "takers" that took the challenge. Your content is extremely helpful. I subscribed and will continue to support this channel.
God it makes me wish I took wrestling in high school. I respect the sport and the fella hosting the contest and the people who are trying. I like how friendly this guy is. If you ever come to Cincinnati, I'll try it...I'll get whooped but it'll be fun.
Love the attitude brother. To encourage you, just know, it’s never too late too late to learn effective wrestling. Especially when focusing on the right techniques. Just takes work. We’ve got guys at our gym I’ve taught to wrestle and within a year they’re holding their own against lifelong wrestlers. The confidence wrestling gives you is unparalleled. I recommend checking out an 11 video playlist on my channel titled “Mastering Takedowns for BJJ” it’s a free takedown mini series designed for absolute beginners that’ll get you going in the right direction. That same mini series is also surprisingly applicable to MMA. Let me know if you have any questions. God speed
Hey Adam, this is Donna Logan’s Grandparents neighbors in Flagler.. kept waiting for you to post this. So cool, showed it to Jim, Dianne and Mark.. They were impressed and said Hi. See you next time you make it south.
Shawn will definitely survive a zombie apocalypse. I tried re-watching it and paused it but even after you explained it I still don't see when he bit his tounge. When he says "that's a take down" he says it with no problem. Did he cut his tounge after he breaks out of the headlock?
against that bottom side control guillotine better go north south. changing angles to the arm that strangles you is risky. correct me if i'm wrong, bjj guys here? great wrestling channel!
That's 100% correct. I deliberately didn't advance the position bc I thought it qualified as a takedown, but there was a miscommunication between Sean (the contestant) and I so we kept going for a little longer. It was actually Sean who was so freakishly strong he lifted me off the ground by my neck and rotated my body to the guillotine side lol he definitely gave me a run for my money. And welcome to the channel!
