Thanks for sharing! Are the lenses interchangeable between the two models? That is, can I buy a newer Arena Max lens and put it in the older V2 arms? My current V2 lens is toast, and I'd like to replace with the newer style of lens, but not sure if they're compatible.
That's a great great question. The crew at Smith says that the temples aren't interchangeable. Check out the Arenas with Chromapop when they launch on Oct. 1st.

I have both pair. A PivLock V2 Max and a PivLock Arena Max. There is a slight difference, even though they will lock in. I put the PL V2 Max lens on the PL A-Max and it did lock in. I just don't know how long before something may break-crack, etc.
If you have the receipt, etc. on your V2's Smith is excellent with their warranty, I sent mine in twice on warranty and will be sending them in for a 3rd time - the nos piece broke after a year and a half and the eyelets in the black lens (most frequently used) has cracks in each eyelet hole.
If it's warrantied they give you a new pair and if it's a discontinued model they give you your choice in a $-comparable new model. If they think it's not a warranty issue they will give you half off on a new pair! I've been very happy so fart with the warranty service. Just go online and follow their warranty procedures.
I'm thinking the PivLock V2 Max had some issue and I hope they are worked out with the PivLock Arena Max.
I did find a pair of PivLock Arena Max on eBay for $52 US shipping included.
Ask questions re: condition of lenses, etc. before you buy. I got it by sniping an auction - at the last 5 -6 seconds I put in my max price and win auctions 80% of the time while getting GREAT deals!
Now I will have a used eBay pair that is like new for $52 and I will get another model of my choice under warranty because the PivLock V2 Max is now a discontinued model.
@2:51 you start you explain how the v2 max has a wider temple than the v2 max. What? Which has the wider temple the arena max or the v2 max? I want the glasses with more of a curve around the face and a smaller temple. Which one is that?
+jbs shanks The V2 Max has more curve.
I have both: the V2 Max fits looser and I have a large head 23.5" (hat size 7.5). The Arena Max fits tighter. The V2 Max is discontinued (read my comment to Chris Prouse above for more info). The Arena Max has the wider temple arms.
