the gravitas/soulfulness of Paul Weller's voice makes the rest of the Respond Records posse sound like teenyboppers. Not saying there isn't space enough for both sounds, but probably not together.
The guy singing at the beginning and the 2nd guy singing with an acoustic guitar were in a young Scottish band called The Questions, that Weller backed , I saw them support The Style Council....The, were good but unfortunately never got much success
@@warrenlovell8872 The original is of course great. But I actually prefer the amazing Christians version. It's perfect. This just shows there are some songs white people shouldn't sing. LOL!
Excellent version. With the correct lyrics.
love Wellers booming voice coming in...
Remember watching this back in '83..
I actually remember watching this at the time but had forgotten that Tracie and the Questions were backing Paul up. Thanks for uploading :)
this is the one I remember, turned me onto the original!
Glad somebody has uploaded the full version of this - there was a short version of it on for a while. Weller’s voice on this is fantastic.
this is just great to see
I love this song. Great lyrics.
The power of Paul’s voice is remarkable. The room lights up the second he opens his mouth. What can I say, I fu&in’ love Paul Weller.
Paul Weller & his Young Disciples;-)
This song has been covered by ANYONE, yet no-one got to the true groove only the Isleys could provide with.
youre exaggerating
Brilliant, thank you this
The Isley brothers always had some great tunes for their time
A sweet version❤
👍🏾🍀🤗
Salute

galera linda índigo cristalina
whats the story with this line up of people?
Why was this not released as a single?
Maybe it was a cover? I prefer Isley Brothers version but Style Council did ijt very well!
The christians version is also good!
Robert Palmer’s version is pretty darn Ok too.
Paul and Tracie's voices are great in this
is that a man or a woman at the beginning?
That's David Copperfield. No, not that one, the other one.
The Dork Council
So go back to your Justin Bieber compilation, then
Am a big Style Council fan but this is just awful.
Listen to the Christians version.
They had only just got together at this point. This was just something they threw together to get some early publicity.
It is pretty painful. They all look about 12!
Or better still the Isley brothers. I remember seeing this on tv it must be pre dee c lee era. Isnt one of the vocalists called Tracie?

@@eltel22 I bought the first Christian's album which was excellent. Harvest must have been on the 2nd.
Paul Weller & his Young Disciples;-)
