How to Catch Stripe Bass @ San Luis Reservoir

- In this video, I teach you guys how to catch Stripe Bass at San Luis Reservoir. It doesn't matter what kind and how big of rod you use. If you are able to cast anywhere over 50 to 60 yards, you are good. You will definitely get a bite. If you are not going to be sitting near your rod, I recommend investing in an automatic hook setter. Good luck and tight lines.

You should use a barrel swivel instead of a clip on swivel on your main line. Those clip on will open up on a big fish.

Take interstate 152 west from Los Banos then exit left on the the Basalt ramp entrance. Find parking along the shore from accessable dirt roads and find a spot that the water is dark and deep. Set up there and cast as far as you can and wait for the bite.

I don't think so. Game warden has seen us using them and hasn't said anything to us about not being able to use it.

Question I know how to get to the reservoir lol but where do I park at and fish?
You can drive on any of the dirt roads that are accessable and park near the shoreline. There are also a few dirt parking lots where you can park. Fish anywhere that looks deep and dark.
