Then you have to continue representing a bluff while getting the same results of losing the hand for way less money lost & If the continuation betting works at the very end. Then you gained way more money. The upside is way better. Or if you check it all the way through, just don't bet at all at the end or if u are going to bet, bet very little (not that it would make a difference)
Tough spots for GMan in the last two episodes. Getting caught by Dnegs, then bluffed by Dwan and Dnegs and at the end losing another $150k to Tilly. We rarely see Garrett make bad decisions back to back and must be down close to half a million. But every poker player goes through one of those days I guess...

The Hustler games are usually soft except for a couple of players whereas on HSP, he is up against the likes of DNegs, Dwan, Ivey, and Brynn Kenny. Even Tilly can be considered as a seasoned player. This lineup is much tougher and I am not sure if he has played with any of them enough to make the sick reads we see from him in other live streams.

@@masemoney666 I highly disagree. Optimal GTO is a mix. Now you get idiots who call themselves "exploitive" and just play be "feel". In that regard the concepts are opposed. But a lot of GTO strats are built around exploiting. GTO isn't just like blackjack perfect play. As the meta subtly shifts different plays become profitable. Eg in the early days of GTO K-6 suited was seen as insta muck. However it's recognised as a worthwhile hand in some positions as it can fold out better holdings, has some decent equity and can cooler an Ace.
Most people want to prove themselves against Garrett and do overplay their hands. It almost looks like Garrett wants to prove himself against an even bigger star and does the same here.
I think the key problem with this is that with AA I think you start betting on the turn to make sure you get all the money in. With AA you'd be worried a K/Q comes on river and scares opponent.
Turn and even flop too to get some information and deny equity for any draws your opponents may have. This was an easy call for Daniel, checking down then shoving the river on that board is fishy.
Especially with a player like Gman… he very rarely, if ever, slow plays a hand, especially on a board like that. No way is he checking the flop and the turn with an overpair. Great call from DNegs.

Not as much now tbh now that’s he’s been more balanced playing gto. Tbh I kind of think he has to call. Garrett has 16 combos of AK there for bluffs and 6 combos of aces for value. Maybe he checks kings twice but idk if he does but even if you assume he does, that’s still only 12 combos for value between aces and kings and 16 of AK for bluffs so it seems like call. Idk I’m definitely not even close to these guys level but it just seems like Daniel was gonna have to call if he’s playing based on ranges

AA might try to trap the turn because it unblocks all the weaker full houses Daniel can start betting and blocks AK/AQ which will probably try to get to showdown. I agree that KK and QQ take a completely different line though. Garrett is repping aces and only aces for value when he takes this line and shoves the river.

Over Bet on the river means two things. You have the nuts or you're bluffing. You can't raise preflop,check on the flop and turn. All in river,that screams bluff.
Garrett always knows where he is at in the hand or it sure seems that way. I think in this case, he made a mistake in the read. And he also knows he is not winning with Ace High. Daniel fails to mention any of this in his hand breakdown. I would love to hear Garrett's thoughts but he's a pretty humble dude.
If Garrett had bet 50-55k on the turn and then put Daniel all in on the river, he probably could have gotten Daniel to fold. Garrett didn’t play the hand like he had aces or kings with the check on the turn.
He needed to start betting from Flop, to turn, then river. Continuation betting. To represent a set or at least a higher pocket pair than Daniel's from the very beginning

@Marcelo Zoric AK 30% call, AQ pure fold, now that I actually ran the spot, TT from DN should be played like this at almost full frequency and folded 70% of the time to river all in still, so actually Garretts play should have worked in theory a decent amount
