Kinda makes you wonder why there aren’t any apps that allow your phone to do it directly. You’re phone arrests has a microphone and internet access. If it can live stream video a phone can also stream/record sound.
The iOS voice memo app and notes app does this already in iOS 18 for anyone curious. There’s many, many tools that do this for free on any audio source
If this device is interacting with chat GPT, does that mean that all of your meetings, that could contain proprietary information, are flowing into ChatGPT? That would be bad, I think.
No, when you use the API (like this company does), it is NOT the same as using the free version of ChatGPT (where your input can be used for training of future models).
Hi Frank, That is not how ChatGPT works. While it can work with what you feed it - there is no storing of your information in any form that can be deciphered by anyone in any way. So basically what you feed it can help it understand and interpret future input but that knowledge can in no way be traced back to you as it has no link to the origin of the knowledge it acquired. Hope this helps.
The other people responding to your comment haven't read the fine print and clearly don't work with enterprise deployment of AI. YES, anything you send to ChatGPT either directly on their app/web interface or through API is stored by OpenAI for "potential future training data and compliance reporting". It's in the fine print and they do have a seperate agreement that they do on an as needed basis for customers that can't have their data stored by a 3rd party (like HIPAA compliance). But those agreements are a PIA to get and I promise that PLAUD does not have one for their product.
It looks like there are MANY ways to export both the recording, and the text transcription. i believe you can export as; .txt, .pdf, *maybe* DOC, then you can export the recording as .MP3 & I think a couple more formats. You could probably use Zapier / IFTTT to automate parts of this, but you'd probably need to export text / summary to an email, email to yourself, then copy/paste into Word. Again; here's where Zapier / IFTTT would probably be very helpful with this thing.......
For phone call mode, do we need to turn on speaker to make it able to record the other side's voice ? Im curious how it get the voice input of the other side?

I’m extremely hearing impaired and west hearing aids that are Bluetooth. Does this record all conversations in a phone call? Both sides? When the phone isn’t on speakerphone. Like when it’s just a normal call.

Not sure about this product. Wish there was a pause button so rather than hundreds of files, a book summary you are dictating in bits can all be in one file. Also don't like each time stamp. I just cut and paste text and not have any of that noise.
I can see several great uses. If you take a college class, you can record every lecture and then obtain summary notes. Then sell these on campus for say $100 bucks?
Love this product. Use at meetings. Almost always just to summarize. I now have contemporaneous note and go back if necessary. With my memory its necessary
It would be great if you can chat with chat gpt. Like in your 40 min transcription, you can ask “what did the professor say when I asked blank question”
You kind of glossed over a Hugly importantant piece of info....the subscription pretty disappointing. You can only use 300mins a month for free and for $79 its still unlimited only 1200 minutes. That's pretty weak. For $ 79 so long as I'm off loading storage I should be able to use unlimited. There's no reason why they have to govern you other then a cash grab.
I refuse to buy products that use custom charging cables because if you lose that one cable, you're screwed until you can get a replacement.
Buy a second one after you confirmed you love the product if not return it to where ever you find it. I found it on the tiktok shop for under $160
It seems pretty thin. Doesn’t look like it’s big emojis for a usbc connection. You think they should make the device thicker?
How close do you have to be to professor giving lecture for it to pick it up well???

Careful. Make sure you are allowed to record and that the folks you are recording know that they have been recorded because of wiretap laws.
