    My partner and I just bought the mobile van he was working for. We are now our own bosses! Although we were lucky to start with a decent amount of clientele.. there is still.so much work to be done and it has been a mind boggling process for me to learn on the go! Thank you for your video; I plan to watch more and learn from what you do! Thanks!

    Thank you for making this video. It’s probably the third time I’ve watched it and I plan to watch your business plan video as well. Would you be able to touch upon taxes and how you manage yours in an organized fashion if you haven’t already touched upon the subject in another video? Also, I’m not new to the grooming world but I am still learning plenty of techniques and feel I’m getting rusty at the same time. I groomed professionally for 2 years at a Petco in my area but I didn’t enjoy the atmosphere or the money motivation that my location represented so I left and began grooming friends and family pets. Fast forward a couple of years, I’m now completing school to become a nurse but my heart still truly lies with the pet care industry and grooming. There are not many mobile groomers in my area and I feel it’s a great opportunity for me to establish myself in the future if I do decide to take the leap, however because of our current economic crisis and social restrictions with the pandemic I am worried I won’t be able to shadow or ride along with a groomer because of it. I am contemplating finding a reputable grooming school and attend for fun but again, most I am discovering are strictly online now because of covid. Do you have any suggestions on how I might be able to gain some more part time experience to reestablish my skills? Thank you again! Your videos are very uplifting and enjoyable to watch.

    Hi Laura- I just came came across your channel and first I want to congratulate you on your business and it couldn't have been easy for you to deside to drive from one coast to the other but you made it happen and I am so happy for you to follow your dreams with all that you have invested to make this your dream job is very impressive, you go girl. I have subscribed to your channel as we have a 6 year old Shih-Tzu Rosie and I watched you grooming CoCo Baby and you were so gentle and cuddly with him, ( you have the worst job in the world ) I have picked up some tips that you gave on that groom and I thank you for that. Her groomer is the best ( Completely Mutts here in Ottawa Ontario Canada ) but I try to keep her trimmed as it grows out and Rosies face is the one place that I have to keep on top of so she can see as if goes out the fastest. I love your van and the way you have it set up really neat and functional as a work space. All the best in the future Tom. Ottawa Ontario Canada

    Awesome advice!!! :) I currently am a House Call Groomer and am thinking of doing Mobile Grooming instead for this reason...I have ran into clients where I have to groom their great pyrenees BUT when it comes to bathing her they only have available their hose outside seeing she is not aloud indoors. I will not use the hose as it is too cold of water and we do now have snow. I think having a mobile van/trailer would be better for these type clients I now have.

    This video was amazing... very helpful. So, my question is, I was considering just being a mobile bather? I have a Bernedoodle, Labradoodle, and Soft Coated Wheaton Terrior that I groom constantly or bathe. I don't like their hair short, so I am constantly tidying them up. How do you think the clientele would be for just this? I live in a small rural town in Nevada, a lot of elderly, retired people live here, but the big city is only 45 min away. I have had minimal experience grooming, just my dogs. But I think I do pretty good for just watching videos, but they are mine...lol. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Any input would greatly be appreciated!

    • @PawzAll
      @PawzAll  5 месяцев назад

      Hello, I do think there is great potential in doing just a mobile bath service business. However, Bernedoodles, Labradoodles, and Wheaton's are eventually going to need a full groom. You might want to invest the time to learn how to do it because people usually like one person grooming their dog instead of having to take them to two places or have different people do it. You can start with just bathing while you train to be a groomer. Grooming (especially the haircut aspect) is not something you can learn simply by videos. It is best to train under a professional.

    Thank you so much for doing this. How do you do your budget? The Savvy groomer has a video on her budget when she first started. I would love to see a similar video from you. Do you use an accountant? I'm going from working in a shop where I do 8+ dogs a day at an average of $50 a dog. I'm nervous that I am going to be able to make it doing mobile. I've been told to charge more for mobile but I'm worried that not enough people will pay the extra cost.

      I will be uploading a video this weekend on the break down of everything including how I pay myself & taxes. You will be able to work less for more money. It's all about playing it smart and working less. You will certainly charge more for mobile and I would love to do a video on all the reasons why mobile is more money. When people realize that it's hassle free, at their doorstep, convenient, the pet likes you, they like you, and you are providing value-they will be more than happy to pay whatever the price :)

    My wife and I are really passonate about animals and we always wanted to start a small business. I have gotten into my mind that I really want to start a mobile pet grooming business. I have been researching like crazy. We have the funds together to get started but we are nervous about not being groomers ourselves. My hope was that I could buy the best van from Wag'n Tails, invest in marketing and most importantly create a salary/ commision structure that would entice two part time groomers to come work for us. Am I out of my mind? Am I kidding myself that I can start this buisness with no grooming experience? Like I said I do not want to do the grooming. Has anyone been in my situation and pulled this off? We live in the San Diego.
    To recap I want to give the groomer an awesome van and a super motivating comp plan that can allow them to make great money for themselves as well as make it a good investment for us.
    Thank you all for any advice. ( please be kind but honest : )
    Thanks,
    J&M

      Hello! It is completely possible. One thing I do suggest before taking the leap is to really dive in deep and understand the nature and the craft of grooming. Also, take the time to understand how to best schedule and route clients because although you might not be grooming you will have to manage your business and employees. Many non groomers have booming businesses, the disconnect I see a lot of the times is owners not understanding the nature of what we do. I do suggest you take time to volunteer as a bather in a salon or with a mobile groomer to understand the in and outs. Also, my biggest recommendation is to implement an apprentice program for bathers or grooming assistants to be able to learn how to groom as there is a shortage of dog groomers. I do have a mobile grooming business course that can help you with the insights.
      Best of luck to you! 🐶 😻
