This is so crazy because I'm just starting my business and my best friend was like "Why not charge more" when I told her how much I was going to charge and I was like "I'm just starting" and she literally said, "Dont short yourself". AND NOW IM WATCHING YOUR VIDEO AND YOUR SAYING THE SAME THING!! SMDH OKAAAAY.... I GET IT!! THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO. MY CONFIDENCE JUST WENT UP 50%!!!
So for pricing I would say, try calculate how much is you expense per day and just triple it? Lets say you have 100 dollars expense per day (includes bussines bills, personal finances, and taxes etc.), you would have to make 300 dollars a day. So calculate how many dog a day will get you good life but do not overdoo with dogs..perhaps 5 a day as a maximum. So your hourly rate should cover days expense..if that makes sense? Sorry if I did not write it properly, english is not my native language.
I’m a new groomer starting out, just finished school:). My issue is even knowing what other groomers in my area charge. No one posts their prices online ( I understand why), and they are smaller places so you have to leave a message and they get back to you. I can’t just ask them their prices of all their dogs lol. I am kind of going off of the prices from the salon that trained me. I thought they were a bit low and I heard them say they needed to charge more so generally I priced mine $5.00-$10.00 more then them. I think this is my biggest issue!! I worked on a medium size goldendoddle the other day. I did a bath, Face, feet and Fanny, nails, ears for $50.00, I told her owner that when she gets the full haircut it will be $70. I also live out in the country ( not a big city where I feel people expect to pay more). Any advice?
For pricing I called several different groomers in about a 30 mile radius and I told them that I'm a pet foster parent, and I want to have the dogs groomed for their new forever home. I gave them the most popular breeds groomers do with a couple of non typical breeds. I figured out all of my expenses: utilities, insurance, taxes, products, etc. When you buy your shampoos and conditioner, break the price down by how many washes you get from the bottle. Also, make sure you figure in how much you're going to pay yourself for the job. So when you have all of those things broken down, you'll know how much to charge for grooms. Don't under price yourself. If your prices are a little higher than other groomers, you'll be fine. It's always easier to lower prices than it is to raise them. I also encourage you to go to a groomer seminar at least once. They have very valuable information that you'll be able to apply to your business. Get certified in animal CPR and first aid. This will increase and "justify" your pricing because pet parents want to know their animal is in great hands with a knowledgeable and caring groomer. I hope this helps you, and good luck on your journey 😁🐕🐈
I hope u answer me im new in pet grooming iv never wirk in it i was bathing people pets but not as a job soo Saturday will be my first day in the job i will take 30% of the gromm prise is it good?
Hello! Thanks for watching! ❤️ For where I live it seems like a good rate to me as long as they are pricing well for the grooms so you are able to make money! I would look into what other bathers in your area are being paid to make sure it’s on par with them! I don’t want you being underpaid!!

What you said about referrals is SO true. I get calls from potential customers everyday telling me they were referred to me by a client/family member.

A good idea maybe is ..every 'third groom give a 50% off'....especially to show you enjoy grooming the dog.

How did you come up with your logo? Do you have a recommendations for a graphic designer?
Just an idea I had in my head that I got a graphic designer to execute for me! I used www.floralwolf.ca and had an amazing experience!
👍
IM 36 YEARS OLD. AM I TOO OLD TO START LEARNING?
How do you let a client know that you will not groom their dog again?
Stay "constantly booked" and give them the name of another groomer in your area.
