He basically did almost everything for Tactics. That game STILL holds up artistically. Like, out of the first 6 Fallout games, Tactics is the only one that visually still holds up. It wasn't until New Vegas that anything could compete. To call him "just a concept artist" would be a major disservice, and I'm glad he's getting the attention he deserves. The attention he earned.
Well said. Only just realised who he was from this video. But yeah guy was seriously good artist.. I can appreciate cause I draw and paint myself. Half as good on my best day if I'm lucky. Guy would make Giger look ordinary I think. Really good artist. Takes not only amazing skill but imagination to match to make such great sci fi art.
The saddest thing is that the appreciation and attention comes after he passed away

Adam Adamovich the lead art director for fallout 3, and apparently the guy who picked out the songs for the iconic gnr songlist in fallout 3 passed as well, but their name isn't publicly known iirc
We also lost the VA for House...

@@larrychilders6599 Mathew Perry who did V.A for Benny , I never knew it was him til heard on the news he'd passed recently. Yeah was never a fan of friends. But realised Perry who was a Hollywood star, never really had an easy life. He'd been alcoholic from 18 years old. Battled other addiction, gifted a whole house to be used as a rehab centre.
He loved Fallout so much from first game, he had writers mention it in his script in an episode of Friends. And he made the character of Benny come alive. He was over the moon when he got the part. He made that opening scene in N.V iconic.

I scrolled through a lot of Tariq's art a few months ago and loved it. A lot of his stuff blends cyberpunk and dieselpunk and that's my jam. Plus all the films you mentioned I absolutely love so it's funny that we had similar likes in art. It's great to see how much he inspired the future of fallout. And most probably other genres. It's so fucking stupid that in my 26 years on this earth I've seen far, far too many people die. I get it's statistically very likely but it just seems unfair at this point.

Most people never hear anything of these legends, and usually never even think about them apart from a few fleeting thoughts while watching videos like this.
But we know and love their work, and that, and the memories it sparks, stays with you, often for the rest of your own life.
All those games played and shows or movies watched, so many fun memories created from the imagination of people I never even knew the names of.
And for that I'll forever be grateful. Rest in peace.

Love Triangle Videos. Never tire of the Fallout videos. I am a hardcore FO fan, especially FO1, FO2 and yes Tactics. I loved tactics and it really got a Bad rap as far as I was concerned. It goes without saying I'm a huge FNV fan also. About Tariq's art; I really loved his stuff. I thought it was unique and gave a certain vibe not found anywhere else. Loved all the Tactics artwork I have tons of it on my PC and have made several FO Tactics Desktop themes. I didn't know about his passing. May he rest in Peace and hopefully he will be remembered for the great art work he did. Now I have to go crank up a game of Tactics.

Never "loved" his style, but it always had a cool 90s-early 00s feel, but honestly not everyone can be Adamovicz or Kirkbride, but he's up there... his influence in the long run was a good thing and we must be greatfull for his ideas.
Better late than never I say. A fine tribute to someone who's artistic talent took one of my favorite Fallout games to a whole other level than what it would have been without his touch.
Had no idea one artist made so much of the incredible art from Tactics. Fallout legend, for sure.
Really sad to see that he had passed, Tactics really has some of the most amazing visual designs in all of Fallout and the Power Armor in tactics has always been my favourite out of all of them.

Don't get me wrong, hats off to a legend and great artwork, but why cover this now when he passed in 2018? I'm just curious.
It's something I've wanted to do for years, but I never got around to it. Probably because it makes me sad to make videos about devs who passed away, but it's also not uncommon for me to start a script and not return to it or actually finish it for years. A friend of mine and I were talking about his art a few weeks ago and I just decided to finally make it, but yeah, I wish I had made it earlier.
